The Bratty Heiress

Chapter 32. Dealing with Luka

It was not until the next morning, that I was being summoned to dad’s office. Becca had been sent up to my room to call me downstairs after she checked up on me. I had a long discussion about Luka with her while she assessed my condition, I was asking her about his drug addiction.

“Oh no… it’ll be hard for him, and even more since he just got off from using. It’ll take a toll on his mind and his behavior.”

Becca was a user herself previously, that was why she was dropped from the hospital and was recruited by Max for his clinic, where he watched her like a hawk.

“God Becca, it’s all my fault…”

“Look, let’s just go to your dad’s office, he’s been waiting for you. He had the boys lined up to rescue your man.”

My man, yeah right… I’m so confused about him.  It’s like he loves me… he loves me not… he loves me… he loves me not. I was done with his up and downs, I was so ready to focus on something else.

Yeah right… Just keep saying that to yourself woman.

Wait… am I silently talking to my inner self now? This is so weird.

Okay… so I eventually followed Becca to dad’s home office. She was right, Nikolai and Demyan were already there even Max and Ivan were sipping their coffee waiting for me.

“Olga.. how are you feeling today?” dad asked from behind his desk.

“Better,  Becca said I’m good. So, have you guys find him yet? Or are you just going to let him be, just like before?”

I don’t know why, but I was still upset with them letting him jailed for so long. I know it was because of his dealings with the government, but still.

“Olga…” Nikolai warned me.

“It’s okay son, look Olga… we have already found his location. Now we’re actually waiting for you, we need to know the situation.”

Dad paused and waved his hand at me, and signaled me to sit in front of him.

“How many guards and where are they centralized in. Luka is not here, so we’re still trying to hack their feed with another IT guy, but it has been hours and I think Luka is forced to block us off…”

He showed me the layout of their hideout, and I was explaining and pointing out to the best of my memory. Half an hour later they were pulling out the guns and conversing with each other, ignoring me.

So I headed out of the office and went back to my room, I checked on my phone but he didn’t contact me, no text and no calls. I hated how easily he made me feel like crap.

Becca knocked on my door and asks if there was anything more that she could help me with.

“I’m well, I’ll be better once they get him back. Gosh Becca you are so nice to me. Do you want to lounge in the pool with me? Are you busy at the clinic?”

“They will get him back, and yes I’m actually being expected at the clinic.”

“Becca, you work too much. You’re just like Megan, you need to have fun. I’m not trying to set you up or anything, but Demyan has a thing for you.” I grinned at her making her laugh at me.

“Oh, don’t remind me about that guy. And fun is the last thing I would associate him with. He’s so serious.”

I finally laughed back at her, until she said her goodbyes.

They will get him back, yeah maybe they will… I’m sure they will.  But the question remained, would my feelings towards him change?

Gaahh… this book is getting on my nerves. Oh, wait… I mean the nerdy nerd. Yep. I hated the fact that sexy ass nerd is toying with my feelings. Why did he send me back?  Why did he stay behind? Why is he using drugs again? Why won’t he let me freaking help him?

But seconds later I was interrupted by a text. His text.

Tell the guys to back off. I’m doing this my way. You have to forget about me.

See. This guy just made me cry with one freaking sentence. Fuck him! It hurts!

My phone buzzed with another text.

Baby, please don’t cry. I love you. But you will find another man, and you will be safe.

The CCTV, he was still accessing it to see me! I was so upset that I throw my phone at it and it shattered to pieces.  Just like he did to me, as I finally crumbled down and cry.

It was an hour later when I calm down, and packed my bag. I took out a phone from an array of disposable phones, that I have in my drawer and call my rock.

“Megan, I need you to come and pick me up at my dad’s. Now please…”

“Shit! I’m so going to shoot that fucking nerd for making you go through this! Fifteen minutes, wait for me.. don’t do anything stupid alone.”

She knows, she didn’t even ask why or who. I was that see through to her, and that’s why I love her.

She was on time, the house was empty. Everyone had left to rescue the druggie nerd. I told the gate guards that I’d be going to Megan’s, and those minions just nodded their heads and let us leave.

“That guy doesn’t deserve you, you’re staying at mine until that stupid ass can value my Olga. You’re good buddy, I’ve been stocking up on your favorite Vodka since you…”

“Thank you, Megan, you’re my rock.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

I didn’t let her finished as I said my thank you. I would definitely have her as my wife if I was gay.

“I know woman… I got you… always.”

It was half an hour later when we arrived at her place. She helped me with my bag as I seated myself on her couch, and be the potato that I was feeling on the inside.

She was fast with the bottle and the glass, while I was dialing Barney’s to order our lunch.

That afternoon I told her everything, about him, his brother, and how all the boys were saving his stupid ass at that exact moment.

“Mmhh… this brother of his, he sounds dangerously attractive.”

We were half bottle down and Megan as always was already tipsy, while I was still annoyingly alert.

“He was… annoying at first, but I think he felt sorry for me when Luka ditched me.” I shrugged at her.

I did remember being pulled close as he wrapped me in his arms. Wait… why am I even thinking about his drug dealer brother. God… I really need a time out.

“We should go on a vacation, Megan? Megs? Shit!”

She was sleeping with her head rest on the sofa as if she was still listening to me.

I sighed and continue drinking myself,   trying to numb my feelings. At least I was not alone in my room, as I looked at my trustee sidekick who was snoring peacefully like a baby.

Taking a quick selfie with sleeping Megan, I send our picture to Nikolai informing him that I was at Megan’s and needed some girls’ time out. His call came instantly afterward.

“Look, sis… just stay at hers. I’ll send a couple of guys to her surrounding area and keep her place under surveillance. Just wish you could tell me ahead before you ran off on us.”

“I’m a big girl brother…”

“But the big boss is worried, just take care okay. We’re picking up your boy toy as we speak. I’m hanging up now, I’ll speak to you later. Err… and say hi to Megan for me when she wakes up.”

He added the last part awkwardly, making me laughed at him and said my goodbye.

They’re picking him up, argghh… I really don’t want to deal with him right now. I poured another glass and drink it down slowly, feeling the familiar burn in my throat.

Need to think this through.

Need to deal with Luka.

Mmmh… maybe not, maybe it’ll just go away if I let it slowly burn out…
