The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 2097

Lydia spun around to see Dr. Funke and Astrid walking towards her.

Dr. Funke's face was grave, while Astrid wore a gentle smile that exuded warmth and kindness, putting anyone at ease.

Lydia quickly dropped her fierce demeanor and respectfully replied to Dr. Funke, "Master, it's nothing."

Ethan stepped forward and addressed Dr. Funke, "Dr. Funke, I came here seeking treatment from your apprentice, but she tried to kick me out. Not only that, she threatened to hit me. Is this how your clinic treats its patients?"

Lydia shot Ethan a look of astonishment. How dare he play the victim?

Dr. Funke turned to Lydia with a stern expression, "I taught you from day one to treat all patients equally. How could you refuse a patient and even threaten them?"

Lydia felt wronged, but before she could explain, Dr. Funke continued, "It looks like he's the only patient left. Go ahead and see to him. Your Aunt Astrid and I are going for a walk."

Lydia had grown close to Thalassa and, by extension, also referred to Astrid affectionately as "Aunt."

Without waiting for a response, Dr. Funke left the clinic with Astrid in tow.

Lydia didn't even get the chance to object.

Ethan smirked, "So, Dr. Lydia, Dr. Funke has spoken. What do you say?"

As if Lydia would let him off so easily and stay out of the fray herself. Over her dead body.

"Ethan, you're such a snake! No wonder Thalassa calls you the slyest businessman around; it's so fitting!" Lydia was fuming. If only Dr. Funke and Astrid hadn't just stepped out, she'd have punched him right then and there.

This man was beyond infuriating!

"Oh, Thalassa said that about me? I'm flattered, really. For a businessman, that's quite the compliment." Ethan wasn't upset in the slightest; instead, his smile grew warmer.

Lydia was at her wit's end. How could someone be so shameless?

Dealing with someone as brazen as Ethan was proving impossible. She couldn't kick him out, nor could she get under his skin.

Lydia wasn't one to curse, but facing Ethan, a shameless man with a perpetual grin, left her utterly helpless.

Finally, adhering to her professional

duty, she

gritted her teeth and asked,

"So, you're here for

seems to be the problem?

"My heart," Ethan replied.

"What exactly is the issue with your heart?" Lydia asked, reluctantly taking her seat across from him.

Ethan sat down opposite her, one hand on his chest and the other extended towards her, his gaze fixed on Lydia I'm not sure, but ever since you gave me a good thrashing, I've felt empty inside. I can't focus on anything, and I find myself talking a lot more whenever I see you."

This man was hopeless!

Lydia glared at him, her frustration boiling over, "You've got a case of needing a good punch!"

Who ever heard of someone wanting to be around the person who hit them?Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Absolutely bizarre!

No wonder he was friends with Lysander; they were both oddballs!

"What, there's a condition called needing a good punch? Dr. Lydia, maybe you should check my pulse to be sure. Somehow, that diagnosis doesn't sound quite right to me Ethan Said, feigning innocence with

Grinding her teeth, Lydia reluctantly grabbed his wrist to take his pulse.

The moment her cool hand touched Ethan's, he reflexively shuddered, as if shocked by the contact.
