Chapter 38
Amelia’s Point Of View.
When I entered my first class, I taught them what common piano chords are.
“Before I introduce to you the common piano chords, first, what is a piano chord?” I asked and quickly smiled when someone raised their hand. I quickly nodded and made him stand up.
“A piano chord is a chord is created when more than one note is played at once, and contains two, three, or more individual notes,” the man answered causing me to smile even more.
“That’s right, very good,” I said. “On the piano, this means you push down more than one key at the same time.”
I continued to speak. “Remember, all piano chords contain a root note — this is the note the chord is named after — as well as one or more additional notes. Basic piano chords often consist of only two or three notes, while the more advanced chords tend to incorporate even more notes,” I explained. “The most common type of keyboard or piano chord is a triad, or three-note chord. A triad contains a root note and two other notes, most often the notes that produce the intervals of a third and fifth above the root note.”
“When it comes to playing the piano, pianists have thousands of chords to select from, with some chords being more popular than others,” I spoke up and pointed to the monitor. “Check out some of the most common chords in the piano chord chart below, or keep reading to find out more about piano chords.”
I read what was written in the power point I made.
“The most common piano chords include: A major (A). A – C# – E, A minor (Am). A – C – E, C major (C). C – E – G, C minor (Cm). C – Eb – G, major (D). D – F – A, D minor (D). D – F – A, E, major (E). E – G – B, F – A – C, F – Ab – C, G – B – D, G – minor. Bb – D,” I said.
“The most common type of keyboard or piano chord is a triad or known as the three-note chord,” I explained. “One way to get the basic shape of a triad is to place your thumb and fingers on adjacent white keys and push down with your thumb, middle finger, and pinky. Learning this technique will set you up to play various basic piano chords with ease .”
I went to my laptop and moved the slide before facing the class again. “Now let’s proceed with the piano intervals, the piano intervals is the distance between piano notes (called an interval) determines how they sound when played together. Intervals are measured in half-steps and whole-steps,” I said. “A half-step is the distance from one key to the next key immediately to its right or left. While the whole-step is the distance of two half-steps and the common interval, a common interval used in piano chords is the major third, which is the distance of two whole-steps or four half-steps.”
My class ended in that section tiring but happy. I am also close to many children, often when I meet them they greet me and smile. I also have teachers who are close to me and friends.
It’s funny because I’ve only been at this school for about a week and I’m already getting to know people and getting close to them.
See, mom? This is our dream.
I don’t have the next class but I chose to take a break at the faculty because I will wait for Caleb and Aria to end their class because I want to go home with them. I didn’t do anything in the faculty but read books about the piano, I haven’t been able to show my students how to play the piano itself because they still have a lot to learn before that.
When the afternoon came, I quickly went straight to Caleb and Aria’s room and picked them up.
“Mommy! Look!”
As soon as Aria came out, she showed me her start stamp on her hand, Caleb also showed his.
“Wow! You’re really going to get better,” I said smiling and we quickly went straight to my car to go home while Aria kept talking about their class earlier.
She said that their teacher is smart and good at telling jokes, while Caleb is reading something from the book he is holding. When we got home, I frowned because we were still far away but I could see Chelsey waiting outside my condo. When she saw me, she quickly looked at me, and I frowned when I saw her eyes narrowed.
“Let’s talk,” she said seriously while looking at me seriously. My face turned a poker face before letting Caleb and Aria into the house.
“Mom? Is that aunt Chelsey?” Aria asked looking confused, I didn’t answer her question and looked at Caleb who was already looking at me.
I guess he knows that is happening.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Don’t ever leave your room and keep an eye on your twin,” I said to him and he nodded so I quickly closed the door and faced Chelsey.
I just noticed that her eyeliner was smeared on her face because of her cries. The dress she was wearing was also dirty.
“Why do you keep ruining my life?” Chelsey said seriously and I could feel her anger towards me.
“What are you talking about? I never ruined your life, Chelsey,” I replied angrily. I don’t understand what she is saying, she is the one who ruined my life!
I was surprised by the tears in her eyes. “You want my fiance to come back to your life, do you?!” she yelled angrily causing my forehead to furrow.
Chase’s Point Of View.
I stopped walking when I saw Amelia still in her teacher’s uniform in the distance, she was talking to a woman who didn’t look good because her make up was damaged because of her cries.
“Why do you keep ruining my life?” I heard the girl she was talking to ask.
I just frowned while looking at them.
