The Billionaire’s Maid Bride

Chapter 270

Chapter 270

Allison and Christopher hit Mercy Grove Hospital.

The security guys on the sixth floor got the heads–up half an hour ago and bolted. They were in it for the dough, not a stint in the slammer. If they got snagged for illegal detention, they’d be in handcuffs before they knew it.

Allison pushed open the ward door, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes, “Mom.”

Grace sat up from the bed, “Allison”

Allison moved to her, hugging her tightly, “Mom, I’m here to spring you, to get you out of this hellhole.”

Finally, she could get her mom out of here, away from Leah’s threats and control!

“Alright.” Grace was also charged up. She had been cooped up in here with no freedom. Her illness had been on and off, and she knew the state of her health

Even though she had a new kidney, anyone would feel crappy in this stifling place, let alone dealing with Leah. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

“Christopher.” Grace spotted Christopher standing at the door.

Christopher looked at her, a whirlwind of emotions in his heart. It had been a while since he last saw Grace.

Back when they were in the Flanagan family, Grace always gave him the cold shoulder, and Christopher only exchanged a few words with her now and then. Their relationship was tricky, and they were both worried about Leah getting green–eyed.

Allison held her mom’s hand, but Grace patted Allison’s hand signalling her to let go.

Allison glanced at Christopher, then said to her mom, “I’ll wait for you outside.

In the ward, it was just Grace and Christopher.

Christopher looked at the frail woman sitting on the bed. In his memory, she was still that innocent college girl.

He chuckled, seemingly reminiscing about the past, “I remember, back in college, you had a lot of guys chasing after you.”

Grace stood up, looking different than before. No fancy clothes, no pricey skincare. Her body riddled with illness, her face pale and gaunt, her hair dry and frizzy.

She was only in her forties now, but she looked as if she was in her sixties. And the man standing in front of her, all suited up. Though middle–aged, he was more charming than ever.

“So many guys were after me, yet I chose you.” There was a hint of mockery in Grace’s voice, “Christopher, you’ve changed.” Christopher was taken aback, his facial expression froze, “Grace, I had no idea Leah was doing this behind my back. I’m sorry.”

“Are you apologizing on behalf of your wife?” Grace seemed to know that it was Leah who had her locked up here, that was why the bodyguards got the news earlier.

She had thought something happened, or maybe Leah had a change of heart.

Christopher was in pain. He had always felt guilty about Grace. Looking back at the past, he felt deeply ashamed. But men like Christopher, especially those who owned their company with an annual income of millions, also had their pride.

“This is for you” He said as he took out a card from his wallet and handed it to Grace.

Grace took it and gave a pale smile, “That’s it? Too little, don’t you think? My husband, my son, and you. Christopher, you ditched me to climb the social ladder, and you chose Leah. Is this all it’s worth?”

Christopher’s face turned ugly. He took out another card from his bag and handed it over, “Grace, I know, I owe you a lot.”

“Indeed, too much. Both you and Leah owe me a lot.” Grace was upset, “Do you know what Leah did to me? I was locked up here, and got a kidney transplant. My health is deteriorating and she threatened my daughter. You both threatened my daughter!!”

Christopher looked at her getting worked up. “Grace, it’s our fault.”

“Ha–ha” Grace suddenly laughed. Years of illness and dialysis had left her pallid and skinny, almost skeletal. But her smile now, it was growing deeper, and somewhat eerie.

“Christopher, go tell Leah, she will regret this!” Grace said.
