Chapter 36
Chapter 36
Allison didn’t want any more face–to–face confrontations with Lucian. Now that she knew he was there, she tried her best to avoid him.
She sent a message to Daisy, then waited for her outside the exhibition.
Before long, Daisy emerged. Seeing Allison, she said excitedly. “Allison, guess who I saw just now? Mr. Lindberg”
Allison pursed her lips and didn’t say anything. Daisy didn’t care and continued, “I can’t believe he’s here for the jewelry show. I heard that Lindberg Corporation is developing Pearl Island. Do you know about Pearl Island? It’s famous for its pearls. And apparently, Lindberg Corporation plans to integrate Pearl Island with the tourism industry. I have to admit those businessmen sure know how to make money Imagine enjoying the view while harvesting pearls. Once the area is developed next month, I bet loads of people will want to try it out.”
Allison gave a small smile and was about to leave when a group of people emerged from behind them.
Daisy turned around and shouted excitedly. “Mr. Lindberg! Fancy bumping into you here!”
Allison felt a chill run down her spine, and she reluctantly stopped in her tracks.
Lucian glanced at Daisy and nodded. His gaze then landed on Allison. He paused for a moment. So, that was her….
Allison looked down and saw a pair of men’s shoes appear in her line of sight. Lucian was standing right before her, blocking her to a point where she had to say, “Mr. Lindberg.”
“Hmm.”
The man looked at his wristwatch, seemingly waiting for his assistant to pick him up.
Allison wanted to leave, so she told Daisy, “I’m leaving first.”
Daisy grabbed her hand and said, “No, wait for my driver. I’ll give you a ride.” She knew Allison’s character. If she didn’t give her a ride, Allison would definitely choose to take the bus or walk to the subway station to save money.
“Daisy…”
A pair of eyes landed on Allison’s face. She turned her head to avoid his gaze and looked into the distance. At this moment, most of the people coming out of the jewelry show would politely nod and exchange a few words when they passed by Lucian.
At around 5 p.m., the air was slightly warm. Suddenly, a cold blade flashed.
A disheveled middle–aged woman emerged from the exhibition hall, rushing towards Lucian with a knife.
At this moment, Lucian talked to a middle–aged man and overlooked the situation. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Allison’s eyes widened as she saw the woman rushing with a knife. She shouted, “Watch out!”
Then, she reached out and quickly pushed Lucian. The woman’s knife grazed Allison’s arm.
A wave of pain washed over her, and Allison gasped.
Lucian reacted and saw the wound on Allison’s arm. His voice was tense.
“Allison…”
