Chapter 155 Becoming a Judge?
Yasmin didn't want Helena to give the money to Preston. She knew he'd just use it to bail out Jasper or blow it all on Cade, and she was sure she wouldn't see a dime of it.
With that kind of cash, Yasmin didn't care if she was a Bennett or not. She could go anywhere she wanted and forget all about Oliver.
"Dad, Mom did it for the Bennett family. Remember, Blair wants a divorce. If she finds out about these shares, she'll definitely go after them. It's safer if Mom takes the money abroad," Yasmin said.
"Exactly. The Ember family is about to go bankrupt. If they find out I have Bennett Group shares, they'll cause trouble. Preston, it's best if I take Yasmin and Cade away. That way, the Embers can't get their hands on the money," Helena added. Preston stared at Helena and Yasmin for a moment, then snorted and walked to his study.
Helena sighed in relief and collapsed onto the floor. Yasmin helped her up and took her to her room.
"Mom, is your account secure? If not, use mine. If the money is in my account, Dad can't touch it even if he divorces you," Yasmin said.
Helena shook her head and looked at Yasmin. "Don't worry. The money is in Cade's name. The shares were his to begin with. Our future depends on him. Once you finish high school, we'll go abroad together. You can study overseas, and whatever happens to the Bennett family won't matter to us."
Yasmin nodded, watching Helena freshen up before retreating to her own room, fuming with anger.
"We have the same mother, but you put all the money in Cade's name and not give me a cent. What kind of equality is that? You're just playing favorites! I can't just sit back and do nothing," Yasmin muttered furiously. Allison found out about the shareholders' meeting in the evening when Cleo called her. She wasn't particularly surprised by the news.
"Grandpa always hoped I'd give my biological father a chance, but he keeps pushing his luck. Then let him cool off somewhere else," Allison said.
Cleo agreed. "Alexander has submitted the documents. Preston will likely be arrested by the police tomorrow morning. I've informed the PR department. Bennett Group will release a statement distancing itself from him." Allison nodded, leaning against the headboard in Alexander's bedroom. The room was large, but she felt uncomfortable. She wanted to move to the guest room, but Jessa had refused.
Allison had no choice but to stay, while Alexander moved to the guest room across the hall.
"You handle the company matters. What has Carl been up to lately?" Allison asked.
Cleo glanced around, then closed the door quietly. "Allison, you wouldn't believe it. Carl has been making waves abroad. He even called Felix over! The Silver Syndicate family can hardly handle him."
Carl's identity had always been well-hidden. He came from a mysterious family in Aivalia, and this was his first time making such a high-profile appearance.
After hanging up, Allison immediately called Carl.
"Allison? What a surprise to hear from you," Carl's voice was warm.
Allison smiled. "Carl, stop. Don't expose yourself in public, not even for me."

Meanwhile, Cameron was still in Skycrest, and the tension remained. This wasn't a good sign. Cameron was like a wolf lurking in the shadows, ready to strike back at any moment.
People like Cameron used the darkest tactics. If it weren't for Jasper, Allison wouldn't have fallen into his trap.
"They targeted you, so they must pay. No one can hurt you, no one! I know you love Alexander, but we're family!" Carl declared.
Allison smiled. "Of course, we've always been the closest family, and that will never change! I know Cameron's goal. I'll fight back in my own way, so give me some space, okay? Revenge is much sweeter when it's personal." Carl nodded, his previously tense expression relaxing. Only Allison could bring out such a genuine smile from him.
Felix, hiding in the corner, looked at the bloodstained warehouse floor and shivered. The scene had been too bloody, nearly giving him a heart attack.
After hanging up, Carl glanced at the kneeling figure before him and sneered. "Send them back to Astoria. Tell your family that if they touch my people again, I'll make sure every single one of you disappears from this world!" Carl's ruthlessness only showed in places Allison couldn't see. His terrifying reputation was cemented by this single, decisive victory. Later that night, Allison received an unexpected call. It was Yasmin.
Just a heads up: is the only place to read the complete version of this book for free. Don't miss out on the next chapter-visit us now and continue your journey! "Allison, when are you coming back to school? The competition is coming up, and your name is on the list. It wouldn't look good if you don't show up," Yasmin said. Allison raised an eyebrow and smiled. "I'll be there for the competition. Don't worry about it. Send me the project details and highlight what you need me to do." Yasmin, seething inside, maintained a polite demeanor.
The competition list also included Cameron. Allison didn't understand why he would participate in such a minor event, but she was sure he had an ulterior motive. So, she made a phone call. "Allison, what a surprise!" the voice on the other end said.
Allison smirked. "Hey, I heard your academy is hosting a competition?"
Teddy on the other end, who had been sitting, immediately stood up. "Interested? Want to be a judge? We'd love to have you!"
Allison chuckled. "I'll be competing, representing Willowbrook High School. But I want to help set the questions."
Teddy was stunned. "You want to set the questions and then compete? What are you up to?"novelbin
Allison's smile widened. "The real reason I called is to give you a heads-up. Someone might try to tamper with the questions for this competition. Keep a close eye on it."
