The Billionaire’s Bargain Bride

Chapter 43

Dirty Little Secrets

CENRIC

After we fucked in the shower, we made love in bed. It was intense and addicting as I watched and gave what made her craze and bend to her desire.

“You’ve been silent.”

I look down at her. I was running my fingers against her soft skin while her head was on my hip. Her hand was just on my lower abs, and her arm was literally on my dick.

“Just thinking about what your brother said.”This is not over.

“Find something to stop him, even if he will go to jail. It’s better than threatening an innocent guy who works hard to meet his needs.”

“It’s hard to lock your brother up. You should know that your father has some connections both in the government and criminal world.”This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

“What do you mean?” she lifted her head, staring at me in shock. She really had no idea about her family, had she?

“I’m not gonna let you carry the burden of your family secret.” I shook my head. “You are with me now.”

“I want to know. I need to know. I have the right to know, Cenric. How did you know about that?” I knew she would drill me with questions. “Are you involved?”

“No, babe. Trust me on this. You can’t know. You’d be an accomplice to your family. Forget that I said something and think of it that I slipped up.”

She sat on the bed, fully naked. “I need to know. How come I didn’t—is it true?”

“Babe, stop asking questions. I never promise, but this time, I promise I will tell you when it’s the right time.”

“I want to know everything.”

“I can’t disclose. Just trust me on this, okay?” I rubbed her arms and pulled her into me.

“Why did you give them money if you know my family is involved in something terrible?”

“Stop asking, please?”

“I don’t understand.” She pouted.

“Right now, you don’t have to. When the right time comes, I will tell you everything. That’s a promise. That’s why I’ve been trying to tell you to be very careful because what I’ve been doing is to protect and keep you away from your family.”

“So this has nothing to do with me being your property?” Jesus, she was breaking my heart. The sadness was so deep in her eyes.

“What is important is you are safe with me. I will protect you with my life. I would never let anything happen to you.”

“Why would you do that? I’m a daughter of a what? A criminal?”

“Your father—” I pursed my lips. “Don’t make me say it.”

She threw herself to me and shook to cry in my arms. “I had these feelings since when I was young. I heard him fight with my mother, but I thought it was just a marriage thing they talked nonsense when they were angry.”

“Hush, babe.” I ran my fingers through her hair, hoping she would calm down.

“You saved me.”

“We saved each other. You changed me into a better man.”

“I want you to stay away from them. I don’t want to taint your name and your company. You have so much to lose, Cenric. They are not worth it. My family is still my blood, but I don’t want them to hurt anyone anymore, especially you.”

“I can take care of myself.”

“They are bad people, Cenric. I can feel it, and it made me sick knowing that I have their blood in my veins.”

“You did not choose this. You did not choose to be born in that family. What is important is you are with me now. You are protected.”

After our long hour of cuddling, she finally fell asleep but still had hiccups in her sleep.

I woke early and found Beck in the gym. “She knows now.”

Beck glared at me. “What the fuck did you say?”

“I want her to stay away and not meet any member of her family anymore so that I can protect her. Contrary to popular belief, the only way to protect her is to tell her the truth. Now she would take precautions and be more vigilant.”

“How much she knows?”

“Not much. Just her father is involved with bad people.”

Beck grunted, “That’s all?”

“I know how hard it is to keep secrets.” I warmed up on the treadmill. “I still carry many.”

“Not for long, bro.” He went to weigh-lifting. “I get this feeling that it will blow out in our faces soon.”

“Any other developments?”

“I wish I have. I had to tell my contact to stop digging.” Beck suddenly stopped. I knew my wife was near. I could feel it.

“Oh, for God’s sake. Aren’t you scared taking secrets into your grave?” She walked in with a workout outfit.

“I wish not to die right now, Sadie.” It was the first time I heard Beck call her by her name, making me smile.

“Me too. I have a lot of things to live for. I still want to go to Italy and eat a lot of pizza, pasta with a lot of tomatoes, olives, and cheese.”

My smile widened.

“That’s very specific,” Beck commented.

“I also want to ride in a horse. When I was a kid, my father chose me to be a ballet dancer than to train me horse riding.” She went to the cycling bike.

I imagined the cute little Sadie in a pink tutu. She would look good in horse riding gear as well.

“I can teach you. My family has a ranch.”

“You’re kidding?” Her eyes just sparkled in excitement.

“You still have a business to run, babe.”

“You’re a killjoy. I know that.” She sighed dreamily. “Finally, I have something to wake up in the morning.”

“Your husband is not enough?”

She looked down at Beck. “You mean someone to keep me awake.”

Beck laughed out loud. I was blushing because she had just burned me. For the first time, my cheeks burned, not in embarrassment because everyone knew, and just by looking at us, they figured we had a fantastic sex life.

“Oh, man.” Beck shook his head in amusement. “I have no doubt. But I love this guy. Give him what he wants, and you make everyone’s job a lot easier.”

“Is he that scary when in the boss mode?”

“You have no idea. Not to me, at least.”

“Well, he gave me another chance. I can say it goes both ways.”

“Good. That’s good.”

“Okay, enough talking about me as if I am not around.”

After an hour of exercise and talking about how Beck and I met, we showered separately.

Devin and Linden were busy with breakfast. Beck joined us later on.

“Why don’t you hire a chef or a cook?” Sadie asked me.

“Do you want me to?”

She shrugged. “Not really. At least, not now.”

“Tired of my cooking?”

She smiled at Linden. “No. I just thought you needed a break. You’re tired of cooking for five heads and keeping this man safe.”

“Aside from watching Cenric’s ass, I loved to cook.”

“I enjoy photography,” Devin announced. “I guess everyone should have hobbies outside work.”

“I haven’t figured out what I love to do,” she said.

“Really? Other than saving people’s ass and caring a lot that put your life in danger instead?” Linden asked.

“I guess if you can consider that. Am I really that person?” Her expression filled with curiosity.

“You have a heart of gold. You are compassionate and want to make this world a better place. What else do you want in life?”

She went silent for a while until Devin announced that breakfast was ready.

“You okay?” I held her thigh under the table.

“More than okay.” She beamed. “Do you have plans after this?”

“We’ll go to the ranch.” Beck just shared our secret.

“You are no fun, man.” Devin slapped him on his shoulder.

“That’s a little bit strong, Devin.”

“Look at me in the face, Corbin?” He was pointing at his bruises.

“You have an ugly face before, and now, well, uglier.”

“Will you stop? What are you two bickering about? You both don’t have girlfriends anyway.” She rolled her eyes.

We all stared at my wife for a moment before we burst into laughter.
