Bang! Without hesitation, Marie fired the gun and hit one of the men in the shoulder.
Due to her lack of precise aim and exhaustion, she missed the target slightly, but it was still enough to
cause
the man to stumble and fall to the ground.
However, the other person reacted quickly and immediately fired at the entrance of the cave. Marie felt
that
the bullet almost grazed her face and flew past. If she hadn’t retreated quickly after shooting, her head
would have been pierced.
Marie was about to rush straight in. Otherwise, if the man walked further inside and adapted to the
darkness
of the cave, he would definitely see Dennis at first sight.
She crouched low, feeling her way along the wall, and suddenly pounced on the man, wanting to end
him with
a knife. However, Marie was too weak, and her strength was insignificant compared to this well-fed
man.
The man grabbed her shoulder and threw Marie to the ground with a suplex. Marie curled up in pain,
feeling
that her internal organs were about to be shattered.
The man grabbed her neck angrily. After seeing Marie’s face clearly, he stepped on her and pulled out
a gun
with one hand. Before he could shoot, Dennis in the corner suddenly jumped out and pushed the man
to the
ground.
Dennis’s eyes were red. He had a high fever, and his wound was infected. This was already his last bit
of physical strength. The man was only stunned for a moment by his pounce, and then immediately
pressed
Dennis back to the ground.
Marie found the gun and shot the man in the back. He swayed and fell to the ground. Marie dragged
the man away and was dumbfounded when she saw Dennis.
Dennis had a sharp dagger in his abdomen. Under the light outside the cave, it reflected bright light,
dazzling.
Marie lunged over, her hands trembling. She was completely bewildered and didn’t know what to do at
this moment. She didn’t even know whether she should pull out the knife or do something else.
She could only cover Dennis’ abdomen in vain. Warm blood spilled from between her fingers, like
Dennis’s life that was rapidly losing. No matter how anxious Marie was, she couldn’t stop this from
happening.
With a trembling voice, Marie said, “It’s okay… it’s okay… Dennis, it’s okay… I’ll take you out… it’s
okay…”
She knew it was futile because she had walked in a day with Dennis on her back. If she had carried
Dennis on her back for another day, Dennis would have died of excessive blood loss before she could
walk out.
She shook her head and tried to think of another way, but there was no other way to stop the bleeding
wound
in Dennis’s abdomen in this damn place.
Dennis closed his eyes as if he took a lot of effort before he opened them. He looked at Marie and said,
“You
need to go, Marie.”
Marie shook her head, tears streaming down her face like a broken string of beads. Wiping her face,
blood, tears, and the dirt on her face, she was already looking ugly. She curled her lips like a wronged
child and

sobbed, “I’m not leaving. I’m not leaving. I’m your fiancée. Where do you want me to go?”
Dennis raised his hand, wiped her little face, and said, “You’re so capable that you can go anywhere as
long
as you’re alive.”
Marie shook her head desperately, like a rattle, shaking her head and saying, “I don’t want it. Dennis,
please,
don’t drive me away. I’m not going anywhere…”
“Marie, listen to me.” Dennis looked into her eyes and said gently.
This damned man was obviously a decisive king and the person in charge of Whitney Group who made
so
many people tremble, but he always looked at her gently and made her listen.
Marie wiped her tears and said, “I don’t want to! I won’t listen! Dennis, don’t you want to know who I
am? I’m
Rose! I’m responsible for everything’ Just hang in there, okay? Hang in there until we escape, and I’ll
tell you
everything!”
Dennis smiled, his eyes a little misty. He closed his eyes and said, “I know.”
Tears rolled down from Marie’s cheeks. Dennis claimed that he knew, but he knew nothing. He had no
idea.
that she was a freak who had died and come back to life. He had no clue about the immense effort she
had
put in to dare to be with him. He couldn’t just die like this.
Marie pulled Dennis and said, “Dennis! You proposed to me! You can’t go back on your word! You can’t
sleep!”
Dennis’s eyes closed little by little, and Marie was completely panicked. She shouted, “Dennis, I love
you!! love you! Please, don’t leave me! Please! Don’t sleep!’
But Dennis’s hand fell from her body, and his body seemed to weigh ten thousand pounds. Marie
hugged the
man and cried sadly, “No! No!”
The sound of messy footsteps came from outside, but Marie couldn’t care less about anything.
Whoever was
approaching, she couldn’t bring herself to care. She wished she could just die right now and be done
with it.
When Emory and the others rushed into the cave, the scene that greeted them was exactly as
described. Two
men were lying on the ground, their fates unknown.
With Dennis in Marie’s arms, both of them were covered in blood, and no one knew who was injured
more
seriously.
Emory and Kate ran over and asked anxiously, “Are you okay, Marie?”
When Marie saw the two of them, it was as if she saw a savior, and as if a child had found an adult.
She
grabbed Kate’s clothes and said incoherently, “Dennis! Save him! Save him!”
Emory reached out and checked Dennis’ heartbeat and pulse, nodding to Kate, Indicating that he was
still
alive.
Kate pulled her and said, “Listen to me, Marie. Let’s go first. Clayton’s men will arrive soon. They will
save
Dennis.”
Marie shook her head, hugged Dennis tightly, and said, “I’m not leaving. I want to stay with him.”
“Marie, if Clayton sees this, he’ll murder you. Listen to me!” Emory advised.
Still shaking her head, Marie said, “I’m not leaving. I’m not going anywhere!”
“Marie!” Kate called out to her.
Looking at the two of them, Marie said, “You guys go ahead. I have to wait for Dennis to wake up, or I
won’t be
going anywhere.”
Emory and Kate found themselves with no alternative but to assist Marie in carrying Dennis out of the
cave.
Once outside, they stood silently by her side, keeping a vigilant watch.
They had informed Clayton of the exact location. Not long after, Clayton arrived with his men and saw
Dennis, who was covered in blood and unconscious. Clayton’s face was so cold that it looked like it
was going to freeze.
However, Marie didn’t look at him. Instead, she saw Gavin coming out of the team. She shouted,
“Gavin! Save,
him! Save him!”
Gavin came over with a medical kit, stopped the bleeding for Dennis, and simply treated the wound. He
walked back to Clayton and said, “The injury is too serious, I have to go back to the hospital to treat it.”
Upon hearing that, Clayton’s expression turned even colder. ‘Let’s go back to the base!
Someone came over and placed Dennis on the stretcher and carried him out of the forest. Following
behind, Marie looked at him without blinking and walked out.
Clayton had a lot of doubts and dissatisfaction with her, but at this moment, everyone’s attention was
on
Dennis
Emory and the other two remained vigilant, guarding Marie, fearing that Clayton might harm her. The
atmosphere grew increasingly tense.
Gavin looked back at Marie and said to Clayton, “Let’s go back first.”
Clayton nodded and took Dennis to a helicopter that had been prepared for a long time, along with
Marie.
However, when Emory and the others followed, they were stopped at the back. Instead of following the
plane, Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
they were assigned to the plane at the back.
Marie was so focused on Dennis that she didn’t have time to care about anyone else. Along the way,
she was
extremely nervous even when Dennis made a frown..
Every time Gavin changed Dennis’s medicine, Marie looked at him nervously, for fear that he would
hurt
Dennis.
When they arrived at the base, Gavin immediately pushed Dennis into the medical room. Marie stood
outside
motionless, waiting for Dennis to come out safely.
Clayton was also outside, but when he looked at Marie coldly, she didn’t pay attention to him at all.
She hadn’t washed her face or showered for days, and her leather jacket was thrown into the cave.
The only
thing left was the vest and pants that were stained with mud and blood. Marie herself also knew she
was
smelly, but she still stood there motionless.
