Nyx's pov
"Shit Nyx!" He scowled realising who I was with a look of shock on his face, "Are you okay?" He bent down picking me up and lifting me in his arms bridal style.
I felt fuzzy at his action, does he really care this much? NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
"I am fine." I whined from the slight pain I felt in my elbows. He looked at me with worry, walked a short distance before placing me under a tree.
"You are free." I smiled at him as he inspected my scratched wounds. My heart melted at his display of affection and at the worry that filled his eyes.
"Yes." He smiled and pulled me into a hug, I gasped in shock at the closeness I shared with him, "All thanks to you love."
My heart fluttered at the fact that he had just called me love and I blushed.
Get a hold of yourself Nyx!
He pulled away from me and I got to look at him well. He was handsome, in the typical cute bad boy kinda way and not devilishly handsome like Lycus, why am I even comparing them?
He had fair blonde hair which looked better as it was cleaner, beautiful eyes, a long nose and plump lips.
"Keep staring at me like that and I will kiss you." He smirked and I wheezed in shock at his words. I hit him slightly causing him to chuckle, "Your mate thinks we are lovers." He whispered and I smiled, "I wouldn't mind if you were mine though."
I blushed silently not knowing what to say or how to react to his confession. I watched him as he stood up and stretched his hand out for me, I took it and he helped me get up.
We just stood there staring at each other and not a word was shared.
"You are pretty, Nyx." He said and I bent my head as redness crept up my cheek, "Pretty is an understatement, fuck!" No one had ever complimented me in this way before, no man had ever found me desirable. I wondered if he was lying, if he was a monster underneath like other men I had met.
Didn't Lycus find you desirable? Hera snorted.
Shut up Hera, I rolled my eyes at her and turned my attention back to Andros. He was still staring at me with a smile on his face.
"Thank you Andros." I mumbled.
"I will see you later Nyx." He moved closer and dropped a kiss on my cheek living me stunned, "I got to go now, wouldn't want your mate to find me slacking." He turned with a chuckle and walked back into the pack house.
I sat back down under the tree instead of going back inside. I wanted to enjoy the little privilege I had of being outside before going back to my room.
There was no one around here so it was quite peaceful.
Do you think we can trust Andros? I asked Hera, I don't know if to see him as genuine.
I don't know that too, She replied, But he seems nice although I feel like there is something off about him.
Like what? I asked her, what do you feel?
I can't really place it Nyx, I would say that we should be careful, we can't really trust him, we do not know him too well and he's not Lycus.
I snorted at her words, You will really rather trust the person that hurts our feelings everyday over Andros? Lycus is just another version of Alpha Titan only that he doesn't beat us which I believe will soon change.
I don't think he would ever do that to us Nyx, he is nothing like Titan.
I do not agree with you, I argued with her, He kisses me and then plans to mate with another female soon, Tears were threatening to fall but I held them back, I had to stop being a cry baby despite the pain.
Wanna go for a run? She asked pushing the whole topic aside and I snickered.
I would love to but your darling golden mate doesn't want us outside, I said wondering when I had become sassy but I was kinda liking the new me.
oh cut it Nyx! I could tell she was getting angry, i really need to feel the earth beneath my paws again.
I felt pity for her, she never actually go to run much often. Back at my original pack, we hardly ever went for runs and now the same thing was happening here.
What if he finds out? I asked her as fear crept in my heart at what he would do if we defied him.
we would be quick Nyx, I promise, I just need a little run and stretch.
Okay, I gulped looking behind me to see the large expanse of the thick forest that lay before me. It was inviting and suddenly I wanted to go on the run more than Hera wanted to.
I stood up, looked around before walking away from the tree and following the path that led deeper into the forest thickets leading me away from the pack castle.
I felt a chill run through my spine as memories from the very first night I was brought here came back.
I tried blocking them away, I couldn't let them ruin this moment which will cause me to turn back, I couldn't ruin this moment for Hera.
I pushed the images that flashed back in and continued walking till I reached a tree. I looked back I could only see the top of the castle behind the tress which meant I was far away from it now.
I pulled off my outfit, placed it on the floor and in a swift motion I shifted into my wolf.
Hera gave a low howl in happiness as her paws touched the ground. I smiled as she did a jump leaping into the air and and landing on the ground again.
Ready to run? She asked me bending to pick up my clothes.
Sure! I said.
She gave out a low growl before speeding off, she ran, her paws hitting the ground with dirt drifting off the ground as she strutted.
Hera, we shouldn't get far away from the castle, I said to her as she picked up her pace, In fact we should be heading back now, I didn't want Lycus to find out, I didn't want to get beaten if he got really angry.
Just a little more Nyx, She said not slowing down on her pace, I am enjoying this.
Me too but we got to go, I seriously didn't want to get in trouble.
Okay, I… Her words stopped as she left out a howl in pain. She had stepped on a thorny twig. She took a step back and her hind paw got on another one making her release a more painful howl.
Are you okay? I asked worriedly, Can you walk?
I am in pain, it hurts, She said and instantly shifted back. I tried standing up feeling the pain in my legs but not as much as she did.
I will start heading back now so you could get enough rest, I said to her and she whined.
I hurriedly put on the my clothes and began limping back to the castle. It was kinda hard to walk fast and it was getting late. I tried my best to limp fast but my efforts were halted when a gush of harsh wind blew forcing me down to the ground.
Familiar blinding white light flashed before my eyes and a saw a form before me. She had on the evilest smirk I had ever seen and I shivered in fear cowering away from her as I instantly began to regret why I went against Lycus's order.
It was the witch.
It was Fay.
