Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife

Chapter 152

Chapter 152

Letitia, you’re just taking advantage of the fact that I love you, that I can’t bear to lay a finger on you!”

She locked eyes with him. “Elgin, you can Tay a finger on me. Go ahead and hit me! Come on, do it!”

Elgin clenched his teeth and forcefully lowered his hand.

He grabbed her chin and suddenly, he cracked a smile, a smile out of sheer frustration.

“Alright, Letitia. the less you want to have a kid, the more I’m gonna make sure you do.” Elgin’s voice was harsh as he pressed close to her lips, “You can take your pills today, but what about tomorrow? And the day after? You think you can pop those pills every single day?

“You’re gonna carry my child… it’s bound to happen one day!”

‘Don’t even think about escaping, what I want you to do, you’ll do. No going against my wishes!”

“Starting tonight, like it’s a daily chore, we’ll be trying for at least once every night!”

Letitia’s face turned pale. “You’re humiliating me.”

“You could’ve had a comfortable time trying for a baby, but you just had to tick me off with this stunt,” Elgin sneered, “Well, you asked for it!”

“Elgin, are you trying to make me hate you even more?”

He gritted his teeth, “If you already hate me, might as well hate me more!”

Letitia was on the verge of a breakdown.

She really didn’t want to get pregnant again, especially not with Elgin’s child.

“Why are you so hell-bent on me having your baby…” she asked, “Shela just said she’s willing, go to her! You treat her so well, she’s so dependent on you and listens to you, why keep forcing me?!”

“I want to force you!”

Elgin withdrew his hand and stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his silhouette exuding an icy arrogance. He tossed the pills into the trash, growing more irritable by the second, and then kicked the bin over with one swift move. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

“Get out,” he said, “Get out!”

If Letitia stayed any longer, he really wouldn’t be able to control his temper and might just strangle her! Elgin didn’t want to hurt her, but she was just so infuriating!

Letitia looked at the crushed box of pills.

There was no more need to take them, because they were useless now.

Those pills could only be taken twice a year at most, they were extremely harmful to the body…

Elgin was dead set on not taking precautions; it was futile whatever she did to prevent pregnancy.

The moment Letitia stepped out of the CEO’s office, she heard a crashing noise inside.

Elgin was smashing things.

“Mr. Ramirez is…” Ranen sighed, “That’s it, today’s gonna be another rough one.”

Letitia apologized, “I’m sorry, it’s a personal issue between Elgin and me, I didn’t mean to drag you all into this.”

“Ah, Mrs. Ramirez, actually, men are pretty easy to appease, especially Mr. Ramirez.”

“Appease? Me, go appease him?”

“Yeah, otherwise, the whole company’s gonna be walking on eggshells, trying not to get chewed out by Mr. Ramirez.”

Letitia forced a smile, “He’s the one who did wrong, why should I be the one to grovel and make nice?”

Ranen coughed softly and whispered, ‘Mrs. Ramirez, how about I buy a little gift for Mr. Ramirez in your name? You don’t have to do anything, just let it slide.”

Letitia was about to refuse, but seeing Ranen’s pleading look, she softened.

She could handle Elgin’s fury, but these people were innocently caught in the crossfire.

Alright, she nodded, agreeing, then took the elevator back to the Jewelry Department.

Seeing Letitia’s agreement, Ranen immediately set out to get it done.

It was almost lunchdime, perfect timing, Ranen ordered a lunch and even wrote a card by hand.

Pretending. It was ordered by Letitia.

“Mr. Ramirez Ranen said, holding the lunch box and knocking on the door, your lunch is here.”

A cold voice came through, I don’t need it.”-

“Uh… it’s from Mrs. Ramirez for you”

Come in.”

Ranen breathed a sigh of relief; mentioning Mrs Ramirez always did the trick.

Elgin sat at his desk, his gaze fixed on the lunchbox, “She bought it, for me?”

“Yes,” Ranen was slick with his words, “Mrs. Ramirez still cares about you. Maybe, you know, women tend to say one thing but mean another. She might not mean what she said, Mr. Ramirez, and don’t take it to heart.”

Elgin huffed. He seemed reluctant on the surface, but his body honestly reached for the lunchbox.

“Not bad,” he commented, then saw the card and casually glanced at it.

Though Elgin’s expression didn’t change much, his features visibly relaxed.

Ranen secretly exhaled in relief

This meal was just like the ones ordered before, never receiving a single compliment from Mr. Ramirez. But today, being told it was from Madam, suddenly the taste seemed to improve in Mr. Ramirez’s eyes.

Love is indeed blind

Back at the Jewelry Department, Letitia sat at her desk, lost in thought.

She didn’t dare to contemplate what her life would be like carrying Elgin’s child.

That would tie her to Elgin forever.

She just wanted to uncover the truth, clear her father’s name, and then cut ties with the Ramirez family, never to cross paths again.

Looking at it now, it seemed like a pipe dream.

Her phone pinged with a message, “Letitia, I get the wireless headsets! Hurry up!”

Seeing the message from Vidonia, Letitia sprang up and quickly walked into the director’s office.

“Brand new, just opened,” Vidonia called out, “Quick, come try them on.”

Looking at the wireless headsets, Letitia was thrilled, “So soon?”

Ive been on their case, had them expedited for me. Put them on and try it… What day did Shela go to see Malinda Sanders again?”

Letitia put on the wireless headsets, clearly remembering the date.

She was entangled with emotions she couldn’t quite put her finger on.

She was about to find out what Shela had really said to her mother, but Letitia was somewhat afraid to face it.

“Hey? You two are in here, huh, Samson suddenly knocked and walked in, “What’s with the secret meeting? What are you up to?”

Letitia was startled, “Mr. Stewart.”

She couldn’t let Samson find it out!

“Whoa, what brings you here?” Vidonia beamed as she saw him, quickly coming over to greet him. “Mr. Stewart, you could’ve just given me a shout, no need to make the trip yourself.”

Samson looked like he’d seen a ghost, “Vidonia, did you take the wrong pills or something?”

Usually, Vidonia wasn’t this eager to please him, with no clear boss-employee boundaries, and certainly wouldn’t be calling him “Mr. Stewart.”

“No way, I’m totally normal. Mr. Stewart, let’s head to your office, yeah? You outrank me, so it doesn’t seem right for you to always come to my office’

Saying that, Vidoma nudged Samson, trying to get him to leave and stop bothening Letitia.

Samson was a bit baffled, “What’s going on with you two….

‘Come on, let’s beat it.”

Vidonia dragged Samson away, even remembered to close the door behind them, and before leaving, she threw Letitia a couple of winks

etits breathed a sigh of relief. Now she could listen to that recording in peace and quiet

But, as she was picking the time end date, live audio started streaming through her wireless headsets.

Letitia’s heart skipped a beat
