Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 75
Her hair was styled in an updo, and she paired it with dazzling earrings that shimmered brightly, making her beauty even more striking. It starkly contrasted Germaine’s usual crisp, suited look in the office. She walked confidently toward Adrian in her high heels, taking her place beside him as his date for the evening.
“Mr. Locke,” she said with a soft smile, her eyes bright as she took a glass of wine from a passing server’s tray.
Adrian glanced at her briefly, not lingering on her appearance. “Mark will be here soon,” he stated simply. “Alright,” Germaine replied, staying by his side as they waited. At that moment, she felt a sense of superiority, like she was Adrian’s woman.
It was well–known that Germaine was not only beautiful and capable but also Adrian’s right–hand woman. She was practically the only woman in the famously single Adrian’s life, which led to envious whispers among the guests.
“Ms. Keller will probably end up with Mr. Locke, don’t you think? They make such a beautiful couple, and it’s easy for feelings to develop since they work together every day.”
“Well, you never know with these things, but they do look good together.”
“Mr. Locke doesn’t have any scandals about him, does he? Apart from Ms. Keller, there aren’t any other women around him, right?”
“Sometimes, the closest person is the hardest to fall for.”
“No, no, sometimes the most familiar person is the easlest to get into a relationship with.”
“One thing’s for sure, Ms. Keller likes Mr. Locke. Just watch them closely, you’ll see.”
Farrah arrived by cab, having received her own invitation. As she stepped out, she saw Mark arriving, with Adrian, Germaine, Corey, and several other executives going to greet him. All eyes were drawn to the
scene.
Chapter 75 Which Woman Has the Upper Hand
By the pool, under the dazzling lights, Farrah noticed how well–matched Adrian and Germaine looked. Yet, she felt no sense of threat, knowing that the woman Adrian loved was named Sierra. Therefore, Germaine did not even factor into the equation.
“Good evening, Mr. Lovelace, Germaine greeted with a gentle smile, nodding slightly.
Mark nodded in acknowledgment. “Ms. Keller,” he said, not overly friendly. “Mr. Locke,” he continued, looking around. “Where’s Farrah? Didn’t she come?”
“She’s here,” Adrian replied warmly. “I sent her an invitation.” He began scanning the crowd.
Mark quickly spotted Farrah getting out of her cab and waved to her with a broad smile. “Fay!”
Farrah beamed and approached him. At the same time, Adrian and Germaine turned to look. For the banquet, Farrah wore a light blue gown without any jewelry–not even earrings.
Yet, her graceful figure stood out, and her fair skin gave her a sweet, gentle charm that was entirely different from the impression Germaine gave off that evening.
If Germaine’s beauty was striking and dazzling, then Farrah’s grew more soothing and elegant the longer one looked at her. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
“Mr. Lovelace,” Farrah greeted.
“Fay!” Mark’s voice was full of affection, his face beaming.
“Good evening, Mr. Locke,” Farrah said, pretending not to know Adrian well, and politely greeted him.
