Chapter 1000
Larissa had no intention of allowing Gary and Lewis to stay at her house, or ta
rather, Kevan’s house.
The house she was currently sharing with Kevan was spacious enough to accommodate both Gary and Lewis.
However, she was worried that the conflicts between Gary and Kevan might escalate if they were under the same roof.
So, she took Lewis aside and whispered, “Are you seriously planning to stay with us? What if my dad and Kevan get into a fight?”
“You might be overthinking this.” Lewis said, gently tapping her forehead with his fingers.
He then reassured her. “Don’t worry, Gary has come to terms with reality. He’s not as hot–headed as he used to be.”
“Really?” She still had some doubts
“I swear on my life!” he declared.
After some contemplation, she finally agreed.
“Okay, then. But just so you know, we’ll be staying at Kevan’s parents‘ place for the next couple of days.”
She felt tom when she thought about it.
On one hand, her biological family had traveled a long way from abroad to be with her.
On the other hand, she had been looking forward to spending the big family reunion dinner with her in– laws as a complete family.
She couldn’t decide whom to be with.
Lewisbriefed Gary on the current situation,
Gary asked Kevan, “Will your parents mind it Lewis and I come over?”
“Not at all,” Kevan replied without hesitation.
“Let’s drop us off at your place first. Tomorrow. Lewis and I will go to your parent’s house to celebrate the big family reunion dinner together. Gary quickly made the arrangements.
“Okay,” Kevan obediently followed Gary’s directives.
Fortunately, they had already done a thorough cleaning early in the morning and rearranged the house. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
So. Larissa felt more confident as she led Gary and Lewis Into the house.
“The guest room isn’t used regularly. So, it’s a bit plain.” Kevan expressed concem that the two might find it boring. “If there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, just let me know.”
“It’s quite nice.”
Gary’s demeanor remained casual
Unexpectedly, he did not find any faults with Kevan.
Larissa was genuinely surprised but chose to keep her questions to hersell,
Once Gary and Lewis had settled in Kevan respectfully inquired, “Uncle Gary, are you hungry? Would you like to go out for dinner?”
He and Larissa had emptied the fridge of all its food the day before because they were planning to stay at the Rogers‘ villa for several day
So, they were unable to prepare a meal at home.
Kevan had already given his mother a heads–up.
He let her know that he and Larissa wouldn’t be returning home for dinner.
Violet understood the abrupt change in plans.
She emphasized that Kevan should ensure Gary fell well taken care of and appreciated.

He was thoroughly exhausted.
He had no desire to move around after enduring a lengthy journey.
Thus, he said. “Let’s just order some takeout.”
He then waved his hand in the direction of Kevan and Larissa.
“You two are heading back to Rogers villa, right? Take advantage of the remaining daylight and leave promptly.
“Lewis and I are more than capable of looking after ourselves. Later, send the address to Lewis‘ phone. We’ll catch a cab there ourselves
tomorrow.”
While Gary had set aside his prejudices and accepted Kevan, he still felt a tad uncomfortable witnessing Kevan and Larissa’s displays of
affection in front of him.
Consequently, he chose to tum a blind eye.
Kevan lailed to grasp the underlying message, fearing that he might have unintentionally offended Gary
He quickly responded, “No worries, we don’t have to leave today. I spoke to Violet, and she said we should follow your lead.”
“No need for that,” Gary remarked as he reclined on the couch, clearly exhausted.
He closed his eyes with a lack of energy.
“Both Lewis and I are quite tired. We’ll grab a bite and then head to bed. You all should make your way out promptly and avoid disturbing
our rest”
Kevan had contemplated pressing further.
But Larissa subtly pulled at his hand, signaling that it was best not to insist
