Chapter 209 Is Ann Their Birth Mother?
Chapter 209 Is Ann Their Birth Mother?
Carson and Jackson frowned and wanted to pursue. But when they saw Phillip sad, they pursed their
lips and did not dare to say anything.
Hearing this, Todd was also confused. Then something flashed into his mind, and he was shocked.
He couldn't help but curse. "Damn it!"
Carson and Jackson were tired after a day. When Phillip brought them back to Dylan Villa, they were
asleep in Phillip's arms.
After putting Carson and Jackson back on their small bed, Phillip came out when he was stopped by
Todd.
Todd, who was always casual, looked serious.
"Phillip, I'm your best friend, and I don't think there are some things you can keep from me."
Phillip glanced at Todd. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Todd glanced at Carson and Jackson's room and frowned.
"Ann is their birth mother?"
Phillip pursed his lips and walked towards the study without answering Todd.
Todd knew Phillip for so many years, so he assumed that. Todd followed Phillip into the study.
There was only a dim yellow light in the study. Standing at the French window, Phillip looked out into
the night, looking lonely.
Todd, leaning on a shelf, gave his guess.
"All you said about what happened five years ago was that Hilda drugged you, and you didn't know
who the woman was. But you just said that Carson and Jackson's birth mother is there for them. There
are no other women around you except Ann these years."
Something suddenly occurred to Todd and Todd felt stupid. "Five years ago, when William went
bankrupt and went to jail, Ann offered a large sum of money to get William's sentence reduced after
she disappeared for a while. Ann was just coming of age. She couldn't make it alone. After Hilda
dropped Carson and Jackson off with you, Ann was sent abroad."
Hilda didn't even bother to hide keep it a secret.
Because no one at the time would have connected those things.
One was just an unknown small enterprise, and the other was an aristocratic family influential in River
City.
Countless companies went bankrupt every day in River City.
If they hadn't investigated when Ann got back, no one would know that there was the Scott Group in
River City.
When Todd recalled that Ann's research file said her father was unknown, he had mixed feelings.
"So the little girl called Nikki is your daughter?"
Phillip's eyes grew gloomy as he looked out into the night.
Todd was even more puzzled. "Since Ann is Jackson and Carson's birth mother, doesn't that make
everyone happy? Your grandfather won't make it too difficult for Ann for the kids, right?"
Phillip turned, his face obscured by a subdued light, and the emotions on his face could not be seen
clearly.
"If only it were that simple."
Todd was stunned. Ann did not seem to know that her kids' father was Phillip.
"Are you afraid that Ann will hate you if she finds out her father is bankrupt and jailed because of you,
and that you fathers her kids?"
However, Ann and Phillip clearly loved each other so much.
Besides, Phillip did not seem to be afraid that Ann would hate him. Instead, he seemed to have some
reason for keeping his distance from Ann.
However, what could make the aggressive Phillip watch the woman he loved being with another man?
Todd couldn't figure it out and scratched his head with both hands.
Todd joked. "You have children, and as long as you're not long-lost siblings, you'll be fine!"
Unexpectedly, as soon as Todd finished, Phillip raised his head with ever-meaningful expressions.
"Todd, a big joke seems to be on me."
Todd was immediately taken back. He knew Phillip for so many years, and he knew that Phillip was not
joking.
But ... how could Ann and Phillip...
Todd controlled the largest intelligence network in River City and the country.
Todd had seen many of the secrets of rich families, but he was genuinely shocked.
Ann couldn't be the daughter of Phillip's father. Was ... Ann the daughter of Melinda and William?
Melinda left River City for a while before she became Mrs. Moore.
It was during that time that Melinda had Ann with another man.
Todd frowned.
"Is this what Hilda meant by revenge?"
Phillip pursed his lips and did not speak, looking threateningly cool.
Todd walked up and down the room, frowning. The more he thought about it, the more strange it
seemed.
"If Ann is really Melinda's daughter, and you were born back then, but William and Ann seem to be
unaware of this at all. So..."
"Ann is indeed ... my mother's daughter."
Phillip thought of everything Todd thought of.
Phillip looked into the matter himself back then, inquired of local residents, and took a private paternity
test.
And so it crushed his last hope.
Todd was frustrated. "But are inbred children mostly medically unhealthy? You have three kids, and all
of them are healthy!"
"Are you trying to say that I'm not my mother's biological son?" Phillip looked up at Todd.
Todd was lost for words and smiled bitterly.
"That's even more impossible."
Melinda could marry into the Moore family only because she was pregnant with Phillip. Melinda could
fool Philip's father but not Philip's shrewd grandfather.
It was silent in the study and things seemed to come to a deadlock.
Todd frowned as he looked at Phillip, who was calm.
"Phillip, I'll have someone look into this."
It was so incredible. Even though it sounded like there were nothing wrong with it, Todd thought there
was something else going on.
