Chapter 28 He Was Rude and Overbearing
She spent her mother's death day alone every year. But yesterday, Calvin spent it with her in that way.
She made wishes to the fireworks.
God... Jocelyn had a complex feeling. She was so touched that she didn't know what to say.
Thinking of last night, she didn't talk to him with a good attitude. She even got angry with him and blamed him for being rude and overbearing. But now...
Jocelyn sighed softly, walked in with Tammy and saw Sean drawing quietly.
She was amazed to find that Sean was a child genius in painting!
His paintings were very interesting, beautiful and imaginative. They could be put on display!
Looking at the picture which the little guy was drawing now, Jocelyn recognized that it was the scene on the windowsill.
A woman leaned on a man's shoulder. There were many bright lights floating in the dark night. Those were fireworks.
Thinking of last night's drinking with Calvin, Jocelyn blushed with embarrassment.
Did she lean on Calvin's shoulder last night?
Ouch, she really did that to Calvin?
And that was seen by the kids?
Jocelyn noticed that there were many paintings in Sean's room. Some of them were folded into paper planes and broken. What a pity.
She spread out the paintings one by one and said in amazement, "Wow, are these all paintings by Sean? How wonderful you are!"
Sean turned to look at Jocelyn. Hearing Jocelyn praised him for his good painting, he felt a little delighted.
"Sean, you are really a genius! Don't you want all these paintings? Can you give them to me?"
Jocelyn took the paintings and asked in surprise.
Sean nodded.
He drew every day and drew lots of paintings, many of which were thrown away as waste paper.
If Jocelyn liked them, she could take them all.
"Well, well, I'll help you keep them!"
Looked at these paintings, Jocelyn's eyes were shining with lights. She could see the painting potential of Sean as well as the value of these paintings.
If she could sell these paintings out, she could get much money!
Jocelyn collected Sean's paintings and took the two kids downstairs.
When she came to the dining room, she saw Calvin in a straight suit sitting at the table, reading the newspaper.
Jeffery just came back. Jocelyn called him to have breakfast. Seeing them were all here, Beatrice asked the servant to set the table.
After sitting down, Jocelyn glanced at Calvin. He was wearing a dark handmade suit, which made him look elegant and noble. With a cold face and deep eyes, he looked indifferent and distant. C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
Jocelyn didn't know what he was thinking. She would rather say thanks to him. But the atmosphere was not that appropriate, she just had breakfast quietly with her head down.
Beatrice asked someone to bring up the specially prepared soup and put it in front of Calvin. Calvin looked at the soup and asked, "Mom, what is this?"
Beatrice explained with a smile, "This is the tonic soup that I asked someone to cook for you. You must be tired after last night. You'll need it."
Oh no...
Hearing this, Jocelyn almost sprayed the milk she was drinking.
She wanted to ask if she had misunderstood something. Last night she just drank and chatted with Calvin but nothing else!
Calvin's face turned red somehow. He glanced at Jocelyn subconsciously. He wanted to asked his mother what she was doing.
Did he seem to need that kind of thing?
Besides, they did nothing but drank last night. How could he be so tired?
Jocelyn's face turned red too. She glanced at Calvin and found he was looking at her too. Both of them looked away embarrassedly.
"Mom, don't do this again. I don't need it!"
Calvin needed to make it clear to his mother, or it was so awkward for him.
Beatrice also believed his son. She nodded, "Well, I know. But when will you two hold the wedding ceremony?"
So joyful was Beatrice that she forgot what she said that day and just blurted it out in front of the kids.
It was impossible to have a smooth breakfast. Calvin used to be urged by his mother to get married. Now he had got married and turned in his marriage certificate. His mother began to worry about the wedding.
Would she ask for a baby after they hold the wedding?
Jocelyn was almost choked by her words, and waved, "Mrs. Austin, it's not that urgent. It's really not urgent."
How depressing. Didn't they agree on not to tell the kids first?
What about the agreed secret marriage?
A wedding?
"Well, well, well, it's up to you. Oh, right, Jocelyn. Don't call me Mrs. Austin. You should call me mom."
Beatrice could not urge them to hold a wedding, but she had to obey the basic rules.
"Oh, yes, mom..."
Jocelyn called Beatrice mom. It was a little awkward. She had not used to it.
"Good, good."
Beatrice mentioned the wedding. Tammy was so happy for her mother was finally going to marry someone!
It was really nice to marry dad!
Sean was also a little surprised, but he didn't say anything. He just took a glance at Ms. Murray and Tammy strangely. If Ms. Murray married to his dad, Tammy would be his sister forever?
Jeffrey was the most surprised one. Did mom say they were hired to accompany Sean here?
Why was his mother going to marry Mr. Austin now?
If they get married, what would his daddy do?
"Mommy, what's going on?" Jeffrey asked.
Jocelyn forgot that her son was so smart that nothing could be hidden from him. She replied awkwardly, "Jeffery, I'll explain to you later! Let's have breakfast first!"
Beatrice asked Dustin to take something. She opened it and showed it to Jocelyn, "Jocelyn, since you're Calvin's wife now, you're also the mistress of the Austin family. This is our family heirloom. Now, I will give it to you. Please accept it!"
It was an exquisite box containing a pair of imperial green jade bracelets. It must the best jade of high value. Since it was the heirloom of the Austin family, it must be priceless!
Oh my god!
It was the heirloom!
Facing such a valuable gift, Jocelyn wouldn't take it. She kept waving, "Mrs...Oh no, mom...I can't take it. It's so expensive! You'd better keep it yourself!"
"How can that be? This treasure was originally passed down from generation to generation by our family. I took it from Calvin's grandmother and kept it till now. Now that you are married to Calvin, it should be passed on you. Anyway, it will be yours sooner or later. Just take it!"
