Chapter 418 You Bold Woman
Chapter 418 You Bold Woman
"How? Since you have signed the divorce agreement, we're done!" Rachel said, staring at him. Then
she turned and went upstairs to leave an independent space for the kids to play with each other.
Hiram immediately caught up with her. He explained, wrapping around her shoulder with his
arm,"Honey, I was mad and blurted it out without thinking. But I didn't mean it. How could I bear to part
with you?"
He had annoyed her on purpose by telling her that he had signed the agreement. In truth, he hoped
that she wouldn't leave him so easily in the future.
He knew that it was impossible to hide the truth from her for a long time.
But he didn't expect that this matter would become an excuse for her to attack him.
"Who knows? Maybe you would find a gentle and well-educated woman who is good at cooking if we
break up." Rachel looked at him with an anger filled eyes and continued to walk upstairs.
Hiram frowned. He could do nothing but laugh bitterly at her sarcasm.
'What kind of a woman is she? Her every move manages to touch my heart. I feel all sorts of emotions
when I am with her, ' Hiram thought.
On the other side, Rachel had just arrived near the door and was about to open it. Just when she was
touching the handle, her cell phone rang diverting her attention.
It was an unfamiliar number. She hesitated for a while before picking it up.
"Hello, who is it?"
she asked. Both the cell phone and the phone number she was using were still the former ones.
She waited for a short while but heard no reply from the other line. Yet she could hear that the caller
hadn't hung up yet.
"Hello? If you don't speak, I'm gonna hang up," Rachel said and was about hang up. Hearing the
seriousness in her voice, the person on the other side said,"It's me. Hold on!"
Rachel froze for several seconds before she managed to distinguish the voice.
"Marlon? Is that you?" Rachel was a little surprised. Just then, Hiram, who was taking off his clothes,
came over.
"Wow, you can recognize my voice!" Marlon said, laughing weirdly.
Hiram put his clothes on the hangers. He looked at her and walked towards the bedhead before taking
off his watch and preparing to take a shower.
"Of course I can recognize your voice. It has just been a few days since I last saw you. My memory is
not that poor. How did you get my number?" Rachel looked at Hiram, and then walked over to the
balcony. She sat on the sofa and kept talking on the phone.
Marlon laughed and said,"I have my own way, but I won't tell you. I'm going to H City to negotiate with
Streams Company about the cooperation issues tomorrow. Would you like to have dinner with me?
Don't forget, you still owe me a meal."
Rachel propped her legs on the stool in front of her, giving a glance at the bathroom.
"No problem. But why is your company sending you? Weren't they afraid that you might mess things
up?"
She was not speculating out of the thin air. Although she was his assistant only several days, Rachel
had found that Marlon didn't care much about his work. All he was interested in was delicious food and
fun places.
"Am I incapable according to you? Well, let me show you my competence, or you'll think I can get
nothing without my dad," Marlon boasted.
"Okay. I'll wait and see. I'm hanging up now, see you tomorrow."
After hanging up, Rachel looked at her watch and found out it was already getting late.
She put her pajamas on and planned to sleep in Joyce's bedroom because she hadn't been with the
kids for a long time.
"Where are you going?"
Just then, Hiram walked out of the bathroom. He looked at her and questioned while drying his wet hair
with a towel.
"I want to take a look at the kids. You go to bed first." With that, she started to walk out of the room.
She didn't bother to glance back in Hiram.
Suddenly, he pulled her from behind.
For a few seconds, she was dazed as she smelled the fresh fragrance of his lotion.
Slowly, his embrace tightened around her body.
"What are you doing? You have just finished talking with another man on the phone. Now you're trying
to avoid sleeping with me, aren't you? You bold woman, how dare you treat me like this!"
Hiram said, flicking her on the forehead.
Rachel felt a light pain. She rubbed her forehead and asked back,"Why? Don't forget you've promised
me!"
"What have I promised you?" Hiram raised his eyebrows and asked. Then he walked towards their
bedroom, wrapping around her waist with his arm.
"You promised me that you could hold on and wouldn't have sex with me if I agree to stay here,"
Rachel reminded.
Hiram narrowed his eyes and said with a smile,"I was just joking. Don't take it seriously."
"Then what are you going to do?" she asked.
"Well, I'll keep my word. If you don't want to have sex with me, I'm not going to force you to do so,
okay?" he said in no hurry.
Rachel thought for a while, and couldn't find an excuse to turn him down.
"Wait for me for a minute. Let me take a look at the kids first," she replied. She still wanted to make
sure whether the kids had fallen asleep. In order to assure him, she put her watch on the bedside table.
Hiram let go of her and urged,"Go ahead! Be quick!"
After Rachel left, he picked up her cell phone and set something before placing it back on the table.
He wouldn't let the same thing happen twice.
Whenever her travel route exceeded a certain limit, he would immediately receive a message about her
location.
At the moment, the screen of his cell phone lightened up.
A short message popped up. He frowned and looked at it.
As soon as he saw that the message was sent by Flora, he deleted it.
He knew it wasn't going to be anything important.
Hiram never expected that Flora had feelings for him before Rachel had mentioned it. Now he knew
that he had to keep his distance from her.
As her friend, he would try to help her tide over current difficulties.
But he didn't want to let their relationship go beyond friendship.
After about twenty minutes, the bedroom door opened and Rachel walked in.
Joyce and Jonny were tired after playing for a long time, and they were ready to go to bed. Nadia was
so tired that she had already fallen asleep.
When Rachel came over, Hiram was reading a book, lying on the bed with his head on one of his arms.
He was keen on reading. No matter how busy he was, he would manage to find some time to read This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
everyday.
Rachel wasn't that patient and would rarely touch a book. But because of Hiram, she had slowly started
to read.
"Eee? My watch?" Rachel spotted her Rolex watch with pink diamonds on the table when she had just
taken her slippers off and was about to go to bed.
Suddenly, a thought popped into her head.
"Hiram, Where's my luggage? I remember that Carl took it back from the station. Why nobody gave it
back to me?" she asked, with a confused expression.
"I threw it away. There was nothing inside except some useless stuff," Hiram said lightly, turning a page
of the book.
"What? Rachel was too angry to speak. It was the second time he had thrown her luggage away!
Although there wasn't anything valuable, they had special meaning to her.
"Why should I keep them? Are you going to leave me and use them again?" With this, Hiram put a
bookmark on the page he was reading and closed the book. Now Rachel had all his attention.
