Chapter 2: The Substitute
Chapter 2: The Substitute
"What are you doing?" She asked
He smirked as he held her down, her eyes moved up and there she realized that she couldn't her hands, and her feet were caged by him, and she was at a loss.
He stared right into her eyes, her gaze didn't drop from the Handsome man either.
"What do you know about my identity?" Shawn suddenly asked.
She wondered why he suddenly brought it up. "Yes I know that you are Shawn Cooper, son of the Cooper's"
Shawn nodded his head, he did not bother to tell her that he wasn't exactly Shawn Cooper, that wasn't his name nor did he bother to explain to Hannah, that he knew as well that she was not the real Hannah Lockwood.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
They were nothing but two substitutes who got married.
How can Hannah Lockwood a high-ranking lady from a reputable family marry a ruffian like him? He thought and shot a smile at her.
However, he doesn't bother to expose her, or tell her that he already knows that she isn't the woman who was supposed to marry Shawn.
Telling her the truth was out of the question, he was almost doing the same thing that she did, They had their stories as well, and Shawn would want to respect that.
"It is late, you should get some rest" He got down from her and laid down.
"Are you alright, Shawn?" She asked as she wondered why he had stopped with his questions and everything.
Not that she would have wanted it to continue, but he suddenly stopped and told her to get some rest, Hannah thought it was strange.
"Yes I am"
She does not bother to give it more thought since Shawn hasn't given her any reason to think otherwise of him.
"It is already late" She glanced outside and realised the full moon had always appeared in the dark sky.
"That is why you should get some rest, Tomorrow is another day, and we will talk" As he laid down, she laid right next to him.
A lot of things ran through Shawn's mind as he stared at the ceiling, he hoped the night stars would appear before him and stop his mind from thinking so much. He had so many things to worry about, his mind was playing a trick on him.
This marriage might be what he really needs at the moment. Glancing at Hannah, he just knew that he made the right choice when he did not reveal the truth of what he knew about her.
With a lot of things flashing through his mind, he was tiring out and knew that he needed to sleep even if it was for a short while. He closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.
When the soft snoring caught her ears, she looked at Shawn only to find him sound asleep, he looked like a baby sleeping in her cot.
A smile danced on her lips as she looked at the handsome man with a beard and packed muscles hidden under his shirt.
He was the epitome of charming yet rough with messy hair, the appearance was nothing like Hannah imagined till her eyes studied the lines on his face, every crease on his face as he slept.
With those packed muscles, she could tell that his chest was hard and toned, just as most girls loved it. His huge arms would wrap perfectly around her as her slim body.
A feeling engulfed her heart and she smiled and attempted to run her hand through his face, but on second thought, she knew she had to control herself or else he might wake up, and assume that she was checking him out.
Looking upwards, a shot of memory
flashed through her mind, her
stepmother Beatrice and her step-sister crossed her mind. It was not that she missed them. Hannah will never miss those people, not after their nasty attitude towards her.
Nevertheless, it was her step-sister who initially had a marriage proposal with Shawn, it was a contract marriage that would strengthen the Cooper and Lockwood family.
However, the Cooper Family
suddenly fell into hard times, and Shawn had no other choice than to become a ruffian. That was the only way for him, but her step-sister had a change of heart after discovering that Shawn's Family was not having it easy any longer with life.
She couldn't let herself be trapped in that marriage, she wanted nothing more to do with such a person and her family agreed. Beatrice would do anything for her daughter and so would her father.
Since the marriage plans have already been set in place Hannah was the one who had to stand in as the proxy bride.
When her Stepmother, Beatrice
made that proposal, of course, she had to give it some thoughts, but when Beatrice told her that she was going to help her treat her mother's illness, Right there, Hannah knew that there was nothing to think about, it was a yes!
to
Of course, she has to give in to save her mother since she loves her dearly. As the thought infiltrated her mind, she ran her hand through her hair and turned the other way.
There was no emotion that ran through her eyes as she closed those beautiful hazel eyes and before she could fathom it, sleep engulfed her.
The morning sun filtered through the curtains and shined on Hannah's face. Her beautiful body was sprawled on the bed, Last night wasn't the best but it was certainly worth a start.
She thought as she ran her hand through her hair, her eyes opened up a little. She glanced around the corner hoping to hear some strange sound but didn't.
Her hand moved to the side of the bed but she didn't feel anything.
She glanced outside and saw that it was bright. Where did he go? She thought and got up from the bed, uncertain where to head when a strange noise suddenly landed on the wall leaving her nonplussed.
