Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 41

Happy reading….

The black car was parked epically in the yard of Elena’s house. The woman who was sitting on the sofa got up from her seat to greet the arrival of a man she had not seen for several days.

“Hi darling!” Jayden said as soon as he entered through the main door.

Elena just smiled not saying anything and immediately hugged Jayden very tightly.

“I missed you, Jayden,” Elena whispered in the man’s arms.

“I miss you too, honey,” Jayden replied, hugging his girlfriend no less tightly as if they didn’t want to let her go again. He even gave Elena a few kisses on the top of her head.

“How are you? You’re all right?” Jayden asked leading Elena to sit on the sofa.

They sat side by side, looking at each other.

“I’m fine,” Elena replied. “Wouldn’t that be a more appropriate question for me to ask you? Considering you just lost your father,” she continued stacking her hands with Jayden.

Jayden snorted softly. “I don’t even care at all whether the old man wants to die or not,” Jayden said in a very harsh tone.

Elena took a deep breath. Leaning her body on the sofa looking towards the front. The net is uncertain, just staring blankly.

“You know everything about me but I know absolutely nothing about you….” Elena chuckled sadly. “Isn’t that unfair, Jayden?”

Jayden had expected that sooner or later a question like this would come out of Elena’s mouth.

“I think that’s very fair, Elena,” Jayden replied.

“What?” Elena looked up in disbelief.

Jayden took both of Elena’s hands. He gripped it tightly as he looked deeply at the woman.

“Do you remember my promise to you?” Jayden asked to which Elena nodded.

“I promise to make you happy, fill your days with laughter and never hurt you.”

“Then what does that have to do with me knowing about you?”

“Because it means we’ll be reminiscing about the past that hurts again. And I don’t want to see you sad again, Elena,” Jayden said.

“But, Jayden—”

Jayden’s brief peck on Elena’s thin lips made the woman shut up.

“I beg you not to bring up the past again. The time for us to be happy together is near, honey,” Jayden said.

“Is that true?” Elena’s eyes lit up.

“Sure, honey. So you don’t have to think about anything else. Got it!” Jayden said then took Elena in his arms.

“Does that mean you’ll be divorcing Hera soon?” asked Elena hopefully.

Jayden did not immediately answer because he was confused about whether he would really divorce Hera. He was hesitant and reluctant to let her go but Jayden didn’t know why.

Revenge? He don’t know, Jayden had a hard time telling them apart. Was he really holding Hera for revenge or was there some other reason. Because Jayden didn’t want to be separated from Hera.

“Jayden, why are you silent?” asked Elena breaking the hug to look at Jayden.

Jayden who woke up from his long daydream, shook his head quickly. “It’s okay. I’m hungry. Have you prepared food?” he asked trying to change the subject.

“Yes. I’ve prepared it,” said Elena with a look that Jayden had difficulty understanding. Jayden thought she would continue to demand answers but she didn’t. Thank goodness Jayden didn’t want to argue with Elena. Not even that last time Jayden apologized and just left Elena’s house.

“Okay. I’ll take a shower first,” Jayden said then left.

Jayden and Elena ate in a very quiet atmosphere. There was no conversation that made Jayden a little confused. Elena is so quiet like this.

“Elena, are you okay?” Jayden asked looking at the back of Elena who was busy clearing their used plates and placing them on the sink.

“Yes. I’m fine,” said Elena.

This woman is not a very good liar. Jayden knew if there was something the woman was thinking. He then got up from his seat and walked over to Elena.

“I know you’re not okay. Don’t lie to me,” Jayden said after successfully wrapping his arms around Elena’s slender waist. Hug her from behind.

There was a heavy sigh from the woman’s lips, which made Jayden even more sure that Elena was in trouble but was reluctant to talk. And Jayden couldn’t have forced it. Take sure Elena will tell you everything when she’s really ready.

“Okay if you still don’t want to tell me. But don’t be sad like this it hurts my heart to see it,” Jayden said then kissed Elena’s shoulder.

‘My heart hurts even more, Jayden.’ Elena whispered in her heart with her eyelids already heating up.

Elena sipped the wine in her glass impatiently. She didn’t care at all about the heat and dizziness that started to attack her. She continued to sip the alcoholic drink without any intention of stopping.

“Maybe Jayden is getting tired of you.”

Hera’s words kept echoing in Elena’s mind.

“Aarrrgghhh!!!” Elena shouted throwing the glass in her hand on the floor, shattering it.

“N-no. Jayden can’t possibly be bored with me. He loves me very much,” said Elena frustrated that she even looked like a crazy person because of her very messed up appearance.

“Remember, Elena. You can’t trust Hera. That woman is cunning. This must be her plan to get me to leave Jayden. Yeah… that’s how it is,” Elena reassured herself though doubting it still bothered her.

She glanced at the clock on the wall. Soon Jayden would be home. Elena couldn’t look like that because Jayden would be disgusted by it. Elena quickly cleaned herself up. She’s like an insane person. Wearing very sexy clothes and applying thick make-up like going to a party.

All that he did to welcome Jayden.

“Jayden can’t possibly refuse me. I am his life. He can’t be separated from me. Yes, Elena. You are everything to Jayden,” said Elena looking confidently at her reflection in the mirror.

As a finishing touch to her fabulous look, Elena sprayed the perfume Jayden had bought for her. Inhaling in the sweet and intoxicating aroma of the perfume before leaving.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Elena glanced back at the clock on the wall. The smile that was originally etched on his face faded. Jayden should have arrived by now but why hasn’t that man shown his existence yet?

Trying to think positive, Elena picked up the phone and pressed the call button on Jayden’s number. But again she was disappointed because the number he called was not active.

Elena’s bones felt weak and she fell to the ground. Her chest tightened until finally the tears she had been holding back came out so hard.

“Are you really tired of me?”
