Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 12

Happy reading….

Elena stared silently at the man who was still deep in his dream. She had been awake since a few minutes ago but still refused to move.

Elena is still confused and wondering what made Jayden cry. Even she could see the look of extreme fear in Jayden’s black eyes.

“Hah….” A sigh that sounded very tired.

Of course. Bringing Jayden home meant they were going to have a long, passionate night. Elena was only able to close her eyes when dawn was about to come.

The woman got out of bed very carefully. Don’t want to disturb Jayden. Clean up and prepare breakfast. Until a few moments passed, Jayden arrived in a navy suit that Elena had provided.

“Good morning dear!” said Elena to which Jayden gave a brief peck on the cheek.

“Thanks for the suit. Just know if I’m lazy to go home,” said Jayden sitting next to Elena.

“You’re welcome, honey,” said Elena with a sweet smile. After that there was no more sound. Jayden was enjoying his breakfast so much that he didn’t notice that Elena didn’t take her eyes off him.

“Jayden—”

Ddrrtt!

Elena’s words were cut off when Jayden’s cell phone that was on the table vibrated.

“Hello!” Jayden said picking up the phone.

“….”

“Yeah I’ll be right back. Thanks, Roy,” Jayden said, hung up the phone and ate the last slice of his sandwich.

“I’m leaving now.” Jayden got up from there but Elena held his hand.

“What is it, honey?” Jayden asked.

Elena smirked and shook her head slowly. “Nothing. Be careful on the road,” she said.

“Definitely. See you later!” Jayden replied not forgetting to kiss Elena’s lips and then left.

“Even though last night he looked really messed up but now he looks fine,” Elena muttered and took a deep breath. The more confused with Jayden’s attitude that changed in a short time.

The files that Jayden had to sign started piling up. Starting a new project is like this. He had to go the extra mile. But that won’t make Jayden complain because this is one of the stairs he has to climb to get to his destination.

While he was busy reading the file, his phone kept vibrating. And the same name written on it made Jayden sigh as he rolled his eyes lazily.

“What does this woman want?” Jayden grumbled looking down at his phone then putting it back down.

Meanwhile, the caller who was at home also began to feel embarrassed because her call had not been answered.

Hera glanced back briefly before looking back at her phone. If the husband does not want to take the call at least he can read the message from herNôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

From Hera:

Your parents are at home. I hope you come home tonight.

After the message was sent, Hera approached her mother-in-law who was busy playing with Juan. The woman tried to smile as if nothing had happened. Although in her heart she hoped that Jayden would read the message. Because if Jayden doesn’t come home tonight, don’t know what Hera will say to Elvis and Jane. Hera really did not have a good reason to defend her husband.

Dinner time was approaching and the dishes made by the maids began to be neatly arranged on the table. Hera’s nervousness was getting worse. Even occasionally she checks her cellphone but Jayden hasn’t read the message yet.

“What time does Jayden usually get home?” asked Jane.

“Usually he’ll come before dinner,” said Hera. Hera wasn’t completely lying because before that fateful night, Jayden had always come home before dinner. “But I think he’ll be late tonight because he’s busy with a new project,” continued Hera. Whether it was true or not was all that crossed Hera’s mind.

“Then we’ll wait a little longer,” said Jane, to which Hera nodded.

And fifteen minutes passed, Hera had given up. Looks like Jayden won’t be coming. The woman began to think about what reasons she should tell her in-laws.

“Good night!” And finally the one you’ve been waiting for has arrived. Hera finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? I almost got late tonight,” Jayden said walking up to them with a big smile on his face.

“Should we tell when we miss your adorable son?” Jane asked making Jayden chuckle.

“No need, Ma. You can come any time,” Jayden said. “Then I’ll take a shower first,” he continued walking towards the room.

“I’ll say goodbye for a minute,” said Hera following Jayden into the room.

“What is it?” Jayden asked seeing the existence of Hera standing in the doorway.

“Thanks for coming,” said Hera.

“That’s because I had to do it,” said Jayden, who was now shirtless. He thought Hera would leave right away but she didn’t. The woman was still standing there as if she had something more to say.

“What else?” Jayden asked.

Hera was silent for a few seconds before replying, “Papa and Mama will stay the night.”

“What?” Jayden snorted. It turned out that their charade was still going on.

“I’ve taken care of everything. Don’t worry. I just wanted you to know,” said Hera. She turned around intending to leave. “And hurry up we’re pretty tired of waiting for you,” she said again before disappearing completely behind the door.

Jayden took a deep breath. Hera’s tone had completely changed now. It was so cold that her face didn’t even show any expression. And somehow that made Jayden uncomfortable.

“Does she really hate me that much?”

After a very hearty family dinner, Jayden brought his father into his study because there was something he said he wanted the middle-aged man to say.

“What’s the matter, Papa?” Jayden asked as he sat down next to his father.

“Do you remember your promise, Jayden?” Instead of answering, the man asked back but didn’t look at Jayden at all.

“Of course I remember.”

“Then why did you do it?” Elvis turned his head with a sharp gaze that instantly made Jayden gulp his saliva.

“What do you mean daddy?”

“Tsk!” Elvis chuckled. Apparently the child learned a lot from him. Act like nothing happened. “You think Papa doesn’t know that the woman who approached us at the party that night was your mistress?” he continued making Jayden gasp in surprise.

‘How did Papa know this?’

“N-no, Pa. Sh–she’s a nobody.” Jayden was still trying to dodge there. Should he regret now for bringing Elena to the party?

Elvis’ eyes narrowed even more. The distance between his face and Jayden was getting closer.

“Remember, Jayden. You’re not getting anything if you mess things up,” Elvis said quietly but firmly.

“No—”

Plakk!!!

Even Jayden wasn’t left to answer. The man’s stout body was now slumped on the floor with Elvis standing in front of him on his hips.

“Don’t let me down, if you really want to live,” Elvis said casually. Leaving Jayden who could only remain silent while tightly clenching his hands.

“How long do I have to be his slave?”

To be continued….
