Chapter 5: So you think you can dance
After that epic kiss between Clyde and I, I went into the auditorium and song, all the while never taking my eyes off of him. I sang, 50s Santa Baby, by Eartha Kitt, 60s Will you still love me tomorrow, by The Shirelles. 70s I will survive by Gloria Gaynor, 80s to love you more by Celine Dion, 90s Sometimes by Brittany Spears. 20th century, Beautiful by, Christina Aguilera.
Apparently, it was good, because everyone started clapping and cheering. Clyde was smiling and clapping. I smiled back, blushing a very deep strawberry red.
We left right after that. Sanity was raving on, about how good I was and how stunned everyone was. Dillon, on the other hand, would not even look at me. He parted ways with us in the school parking lot and drove away without even saying goodbye.
Sanity and I drove to my house for our sleepover. When we got there, the house was empty. I walked into the kitchen and saw a note stuck on the fridge. Mom’s working late again and Jenny was sleeping over by Margret’s house.
It’s not that I’m not accustomed to being alone, I just wanna spend some time with my family once in a while. I took out two sodas and handed one to Sanity. Later we ordered pizza and watched, reruns of Arrow.
I mean, who doesn’t love Stephen Amell. Those abs and that face. Is it me, or is it getting hot in here? Somebody open a window because I’m burning up. I just love Arrow, I’m an Olicity fan all the way. Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak forever!
We were halfway into the second season of Arrow when Sanity went crazy with questions.
“Ok, so I can’t keep quiet anymore. You kissed Clyde Davis. OMG, you kissed Clyde freaking Davis!” She was bouncing on my bed, hugging a pillow.
“So… You have to tell me, was he any good? Did he curl your toes and melt your bones? Did you feel like ripping his clothes off, right there and having your wicked way with him? Don’t leave anything out, tell me everything.”
I’m the one who got kissed and my best friend was acting more excited than me.
“Ohmygod, can you stop speed talking.”
She threw a pillow at me, hitting me square in the face. Her eyes were very serious. “I will hurt you for information, so start talking.”
I laughed, earning myself another pillow in the face. I blew the hair out of my face and rolled my eyes.
“Ok, ok. Chill Olivia Pope, I’ll tell you.” She dropped the pillow she was holding, eyeing me suspiciously, “Smart choice, now let’s hear it.”
I thought back to the kiss and smiled dreamily. “It was amazing. Like our lips were reunited after being apart for far too long. I couldn’t have asked for anything more for my first kiss.”
We both sighed, then laughed. We spent the rest of the night, talking and laughing. I love our sleepovers.
It’s been two weeks since the nightmare audition and the epic kiss. I got a part in the show, which means I’ve been working closely with Clyde and the mean Bs. The Bs has put me down and embarrassed me at every chance they got.
No one ever tells them to stop, for fear of being bullied themselves. Clyde would tell me not to listen to them, ignore them that their just jealous because I’m a better singer and dance than them.
I would sometimes try to ignore the rude comment or hurtful remarks, but today, however, what they said cut pretty deep. I was learning the steps to Jason Derulo Other Side. A few of the moves were a bit hard to get down. I tripped a few time, falling flat on my ass, trying to do a weird combination of a ballet spin and finishing in a strange hip hop move.
After a few more tries of getting it wrong, I decided it’s time to throw in the towel. I was hot, sweaty and more frustrated than ever. Grabbing my water bottle and my towel, I made my way over to where some of the others were resting.
I took a seat next to a girl named Amy, number 14 on the casting list. She had a head full of beautiful black curls and striking blue eyes. We stood just about the same height, 5 feet 7.
“You having a hard time getting the move down?” Amy asked, taking a swig of her water.
“You’ve noticed, huh?” I asked feeling like a failure.
Amy chuckled, “Honey please, everyone’s noticed.”Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
I groaned, burying my face in my hands, embarrassed. Amy touched my shoulder,
“Hey, don’t worry about it. You will get it down if you keep practising. Trust me, I know.”
I looked at her not really believing. “Really.”
She laughed, “Come on, I show you a trick I’ve learned.”
I got up to follow Amy. She slowed the moves down, showing me ways in which to twist my foot and my body. I failed horribly, the first few minutes into the learning the move. We both laughed when I fell or ended up doing something entirely different. I finally got it after, maybe my fifteenth try. I was so excited, I hugged Amy, thanking her for her help. We were laughing and having fun, trying more moves and joking about.
Amy started the track over, so we could try out the whole routine. We did it with minor mistakes, falling to the ground exhausted. My eyes were closed and I was trying to catch my breath. A shadow came over me, blocking out the light.
“That’s pretty good. I see you got down the move, but you’re a bit too slow on the footwork.”
I open my eyes to see Clyde standing over me, looking very edible. His black sweats and white wife-beater were actually doing good things for his body. His biceps were just begging to be squeezed. I just laid there, staring up at his smiling face, feeling giddy. He was looking at me like he was waiting for me to say something.
Ohmygod! Did he say something? I knew his lips moved, but for the life of me, I wasn’t too sure if words came out. So I smiled, hoping that would be enough to cover the fact that I was admiring his body, instead of listening to him.
It seemed to work because he started speaking again. “Come on, get up.”
He offered his hands and I just stared at it like an idiot. Touch him. He wants me to touch him. Should I do it? Last time we touched, our lips got involved. Although it was pretty good, no wait, who am I kidding? That kiss definitely could have won an Award. The damn thing was near volcanic. Anyway, as I was saying, even though the kiss was Hot, I didn’t want a repeat in front of the show team.
His hands were still there and he had this amused look on his beautiful face. His eyebrow quirk up and he was smirked,
“You scared? I’m not gonna bite… Much.” I swallowed the lump in my throat and took his hands. He pulled me to my feet, then nod at Amy to turn the music on.
We were standing facing the mirror, I was in front with him behind. His body was pressed up against mine, both his hands were on my shoulders. He ran his hand down my right arm, bringing it to the back of his neck.
Slowly he traced his way back down the arm that’s around his neck, to my waist. He did the same with to my left arm, only instead of bringing it around his neck, he intertwined of fingers, resting our locked hands on my waist. Then we started to move to the music.
Halfway through the song, we had to do a dip, not just any dip. Nooo, I had to wrap both my legs around his waist and we did a low dip. He brought me back up, and I slid down the length of his body, going into a quick split, then back up again. Can you say HOT?
The dance ended with both my hands around his neck and one foot hooked around him. One of his hands was on the small of my back and the other on my thigh, of the leg that was around him. Our lips almost touching.
“Well, that was hot. So hot, it deserves to be labelled, Porn.” Amy said looking at us.
Feeling embarrassed, I made to move, but Clyde held me back, “We would be good together. Perfect actually.”
He let me go and a rush of girls came over to him, asking for help with their steps, or to show them how to do it right. I wasn’t really listening, I was mulling over what he just said. What did it all mean? Did he want to date me, or was it just about sex?
Pushing it to the back of my head as the latter, I picked up my water bottle and drank deeply. Amy was looking at me smirking,
“What?” I asked, knowing very well why she was smirking.
“Oh, I don’t know. It’s not like you two didn’t just have sex without having sex in the middle of the dance floor.” She spoke in a silvery voice, causing me to gasp.
“OMG! We did not.”
She started laughing and my face was bright red with embarrassment. Amy smiled, “So, you think you can dance, without all the porno action next time. They are kids in this school.”
