Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Scarletts P.O.V
After school on Friday you and Briana are hanging out in your room.
She's trying on trying for the party tonight. You've already told your mom that you're sleeping over at
Briana's. Briana turns, running her hands down the length of the short, tight blue dress that hugs her
curves. Her blonde locks are pulled up into a messy bun with a few ringlets hanging down framing her
round face.
"What do you think of this one?"
You tap your chin, eyes scanning down the length of her, before you answer honestly.
"It looks good, but I'd wear the wedges. It'll make your legs look longer and irresistible"
She glances at the black wedges at the foot of your bed and nods her head, walking to scoop them up
off the floor. She sits on the edge of your bed.
"You're right...god. I'm so excited about tonight."
"Me too."
You sigh, and let your head fall back against your desk chair.
"I just need to fucking unwind, you know?"
Briana brings her gaze to you as she slips her feet into the wedges. She raises a brow at you.
"Is it all that built up lust for Oliver?"
You roll your eyes.
This again. She's fucking relentless.
"No. I already told you, I don't want him. Jesus. Is your motive to press me until I change my answer?"
She shrugs, flashing you a cocky grin while sticking her tongue out.
"All I'm saying is, I sense some electricity."
You sigh, running your fingers through your hair, tugging at the tangled spots, before your eyes move to
the dress you've picked out.
Yeah, more one that destroys everything in its path.
You pinch the bridge of your nose, and reach for your shirt, tugging it over your head. Just as your
arms are up in the air pulling it off your bedroom door bursts open and there stands Oliver. You yelp,
and grab the shirt, bunching it up to cover yourself considering you're not wearing a bra.
I really have to stop getting caught naked by him.
"What the hell, Oliver? Do you not know ho to knock?"
A sardonic smirk pulls his lips sideways as he leans against the doorway. Your eyes roam down his
lean muscle, in his tight black t-shirt and basketball shorts. Your eyes widen slightly as you make out
the outline of his dick in his shorts.
Damn... he must be huge. Especially if that's the size soft.
"You'd think you'd lock the door if you were going to strip."
"I shouldn't have too. Its called privacy. You have no fucking boundaries"
You shake your head angrily at him, narrowing your eyes to shoot him a dirty look.
"Get the hell out"
You wave him away, but he doesn't budge. Instead, he crosses his arms over his chest, and focuses
his gaze on your chest where you see a flash of ravenous hunger lean in his dark eyes.
Oh, so I guess everything's back to normal for him... he's the same arrogant asshole who thinks i want
him again. Yesterday all forgotten, huh...
"I'm enjoying my view"
"I'm sure you are you pig"
You glance around the room, ready to toss something at him if need be, when he directs his attention
to Briana. If you were angry about how he was eyeing you, when he slides his gaze over your best
friend and openly licks his lips, before he smiles so wide his perfect teeth are gleaming, you're fucking Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
furious now.
Why does this man truly think that I'm going to just give in to him when he makes an effort to flirt with
my friends? Player is not a turn on.
You watch as Briana blushes, and runs her hands over her curves.
"Bri, where are you going?"
You glance back and forth between them.
She better not fucking invite him!
"Its nothing. We're just going to a party tonight. Our friend Jenny is throwing it at her place. Her parents
are out of town."
Your eyes widen mortified, and your expression twists into a malice.
"Briana!"
Briana rolls her eyes at you and turns her fascinated smile on Oliver.
"You should come! It'd be fun."
Seething with anger, you storm out your room, slamming the door behind you.
Briana's always been the friend to test me, but that was completely ridiculous. She knows how much
we don't get along... and shed inviting him for her own benefit despite how uncomfortable and annoyed
it makes me
You let your legs carry you to the kitchen, where you rummage through the cabinet you know a Bacardi
is hiding.
Guess its not too early to tart drinking after all.
You unscrew the bottle, raising it to your lips. You cringe when the string smell of liquor singes your
nose.
Not my drink of choice but fuck it.
You take a large gulp of the clear run followed by a deep breath as it burns going down your throat.
Screwing the cap back on, you stow, the bottle back in the cabinet above the fridge and take long
strides down to your bedroom in the basement. Your door is still closed when you get to the bottom of
the steps.
I hope he's fucking left.
You push the door, and frown when you see him perched in your desk chair. Bri's sitting on the end of
your bed. Both their heads turn when you enter. You ignore Bri's gaze as your anger resurfaces.
"Can you leave? Don't you have your on friends?"
Clearly not if he feels the need to bother mine. Mom was right about one thing; he doesn't get out the
house much. Probably because no one enjoys his smart ass mouth.
"Hm... I wasn't really attempting to be friends with Bri."
You scoff and look at him in disgust.
"Well, if Bri entertains that she's dummer than i thought."
You ignore the surprised gasp from your friend and all your fists at your side.
Oliver clucks his tongue and stands, towering over you. He looms above you with a cunning
expression, before he wordlessly leaves.
Oh, now he leaves without a sarcastic remark... surprised there.
You turn to Bri and place your hands on your hips. You frown at her. Bri sighs.
"I forgive you for that stupid comment. You really need to lighten up. Maybe he's an asshole to you
because you don't even give him a chance. He might be a pretty chill dude."
"Wouldn't you love to find out. The last thing i wanted to do was be under his scrutiny."
You gesture wildly, and huff angrily.
"This mov and having to accommodate someone ho clearly enjoys getting a rise out of me has a been
a nightmare"
Bri firms he lips, and her brows furrow as she gives you a look of sympathy and gets up to come over
to you. She throws her arms around you and squeezes.
"I'm sorry, okay? I honestly thought you guts were just bickering. I didn't know you were really that
upset about him"
You're reluctant hug her. You sigh, feeling the weight of your emotions sitting heavy on our shoulders.
"Let's just sat ever since I've met him, I've been stressed the hell out"
"I'm sorry, Scar."
You finally wrap your arms around her, hugging her back before she drops her arms and steps back,
giving you a small smile.
"Just uninvite him then. Besides talking to him while you disappeared, he didn't seem too interested in
it anyways. He said something about a date."
A date?
You attribute the way your heart pounds in your chest and you feel yourself start to sweat to stress, but
the truth lingers in the back of your mind.
Jealousy... I'm fucking jealous. Christ.
You pinch the bridge of your nose, let your eyes flutter closed and take a few deep breaths.
"What?"
I have a fucking issue... like, literally? What is wrong with me?
You drop your arm back to your side and lick your dry lips.
"I uh, nothing. I'm just surprised someone wants to put up with his that all."
Briana narrows her eyes and points an accusing finger at you. You already know what she's going to
say before she says it as her lips slowly pull into a smile.
"You're jealous... aren't you"
You wave your hand, and shake your head.
"No. No, I'm not"
Your firm declaring you're not jealous, but her smile doesn't waver.
"Whatever you say. I'd just uninvite him them."
"I will in a little. I want to try on my dress."
You welcome a distraction. Anything to get her to stop looking at you like he's caught you doing
something naughty.
He can fucking enjoy himself on his date. As long as he's not showing up to the party.
