Sorry Sir I Don’t Want You Back by Little Angelic Devil

Chapter 81

Everyone turned toward the source of the voice.

There stood the patriarch of the Alester family, Charles Alster, at the center of the Great Staircase. Despite his old age, he still had the strong aura of a younger CEO and looked majestic in his black suit and gold and black cane. The crew gulped in nervousness. They had never met Charles Alster, who maintained the Alster Group for so long and made it even more prosperous.

To meet such a legend in the business circle made them timid because someone who could hold up hundreds of years of legacy and make the Alster Group one of the most influential groups in the world would most probably be a ruthless businessman. Cherise and her friends looked at each other before laughing and rushing toward her grandpa. A chorus of

"Grandpa" and "Old Master Alster" followed them.

Logan and Julian shook their heads helplessly and followed them with a slower and confident pace.

"Are you going to smother an old man to death?" Charles glared at Cherise and the rest as they surrounded him, the girls kissing him on the cheeks and hugging him, while Tristan hugged him, but he didn't push them away. Julian chuckled and teased, "You can drop the act, Grandpa.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

We know you love us being here. You hugged and kissed us back."

"Let's not forget how you don't even bother to wipe those lipstick marks on your cheeks from the girls," Logan added for good measure.

Charles snorted. "That's because I forgot to bring my handkerchief with me."

Cherise and the rest giggled when they saw the perfectly folded pocket square in her grandpa's suit pocket. Even their butler seemed to have a hard time keeping his face straight by Charles' blatant lie.

"And you!" Charles looked sternly at Katherine, Paula, and Tristan. "Who are you calling old?"

The three of them immediately hugged him again and called him sweetly, "Grandpa Alster."

Charles looked smug and satisfied by their actions. They had been friends with Cherise for so long, and he had seen them as his own grandchildren as they were all talented and good children. He wanted them to feel comfortable around him because they were important to Cherise.

His gaze then landed on the production crew, who were still standing at the door, gaping at what they had witnessed.

They could not believe the dignified and authoritarian patriarch of the Alster family didn't seem to mind having lipstick marks on his cheeks. He even seemed to enjoy being crowded by his over-excited 'grandchildren' although he pretended not to. That was not what had prepared them when they thought of the legendary Charles Alster.

Suddenly, Charles smiled brightly at the crew and motioned them to come forward. The crew hesitated but didn't dare to defy Charles' silent order.

"Welcome to the Alster Mansion," Charles said, still with the same bright smile on his face. "Julian mentioned you will be coming to shoot Cherise's campaign, and I've ordered the maids to clean your rooms. You will be placed in the East Wing and make yourself at home while you are at it."

The crew couldn't stop gaping. Their eyes flicked back and forth toward Julian and Charles. Never in their lives would they have ever thought they would have the luxury of living in the Alster Mansion!

Thankfully, they heard the whining voice of Tristan Hart, the famous actor, who surprisingly acted differently from his usu person.

"Why do they get a huge smile as a greeting while we get a booming voice?" Tristan whined.

"Because they are guests, and you guys are ruffians" Charles Alster replied with a sneer, but everyone could see the soft familial love in his eyes.

This got the crew their bearings back. They chuckled and expressed their gratitude profusely toward the patriarch of the Alster family and also the heir, to which, just like Julian had told them before, it was not a problem.

Everyone got settled into their rooms before they had dinner, and once again, the crew was amazed at just how welcoming and warm the Alster family was.

They were just a production crew, but they got to dine together with the family at the long, antique dining table as if they were equals.

Maybe it was the difference between old money versus new money, they thought. Most families who just came into wealth would show off and look down on poorer people, even if they were of the same social class.

But for those families whose wealth dated as far back as the Alster, they were mostly more subdued. People knew they were wealthy without them needing to show off their wealth, and Charles and Julian Alster's treatment toward them had proven them right. Dinner was lively. Everyone chatted happily, mostly making plans about the campaign because that was what they were here to do.

Even Charles contributed his ideas on how to decorate the Mansion, telling them they could also use the garden for Cherise and Tristan's part. Julian had contacted an agency for the other actors needed and made sure they were ready anytime.

As for Cherise and Logan's scene, Charles had already converted one room into a basic photo studio as they only needed a white background all around them.

Katherine had made sure the collection in Cherise's, Logan's, and Tristan's sizes would be ready within two days, and Paula said their costumes would arrive in three days.

As for the heavy equipment, such as cameras, Julian had ensured they would be ready the next day so the crew could inspect them and change them or add more if they wanted.

All in all, they would be able to finish shooting the two campaigns within two weeks if everything went according to plan, or even sooner, as they could start decorating the mansion the next day or the day after. Charles told them he had enough servants or even professionals to help with it. Visit Job ni b.com to read the complete chapters for free. With all the help, this might have been the easiest job they had ever done.

After dinner, when everyone started to retreat to their bedrooms, Cherise was summoned to Charles's study, along with Julian and Logan.

Charles, as usual, sat behind his mahogany desk while the others dragged a chair so they sat facing in.

The atmosphere was heavy, and Cherise knew they would be talking to her about something serious.

"Cherise, I think it's time for us to let the world know about you being the heiress of our family." Charles looked at his granddaughter.

Cherise wasn't surprised by it, but still, she needed to ask the question in her mind. "Wouldn't it be dangerous if I was really the target of the kidnapping? They would know I'm alive."

"Cherise" Julian said gently. "With you appearing more and more in social media, especially later on after your campaign with Tristan, people will know about your existence, and so many already know you are Hudson's ex-wife."

Cherise wanted to ask why it mattered, but Logan spoke up first.

"With more people knowing about your existence, if something were to happen to you, they would not care if you were simply known as Hudson's ex-wife," he said.

"But if they know you are the Alster heiress, they would care more," Julian added. "They will not just sit there and pretend they don't know anything except if they want to go against our family."

"So you are saying everyone could be your spies and my bodyguards?" Cherise lips quirked up into an amused smile.

Julian and Logan laughed and nodded in acknowledgment.

Cherise sighed and thought it was a great plan. Sooner or later, they still would need to announce her background.

Even if she wasn't the target of the kidnapping, maybe when the kidnappers knew she was still alive, they would let slip some information in panic, and she could get to know their main purpose and take revenge for the big brother who died in her place so she could escape.

"Alright then," she agreed with them. "But can we do it after Agatha's birthday, which is a month from now?"

"Agatha Amery?" Her grandpa asked curiously, like a child asking a question.

"Yup," Cherise grinned, then snickered. "She told me you were quite a flirt back then."

"If I weren't a flirt, how could I get your grandma to marry me?" Charles asked with a smug look and wicked smile, making Logan and Julian choke on their saliva.

Of course, rather than feeling embarrassed, their grandpa would be proud of it!

"Oh my God!" Cherise gasped in horror. "Grandma was a victim!"

Charles laughter boomed in the old-school yet still magnificent study. "A man needs a strategy to win the lady she wants."

"Not that kind of strategy," Julian and Logan both groaned.

"You were lucky Grandma wasn't put off by your flirtiness,"

Cherise laughed.

"I was too charming for your grandma to resist," Charles said, again with that wicked yet mischievous smile of his.

"Alright, Grandpa," Julian interjected. "We don't need more information on how you seduced Grandma."

Charles looked at Julian and Logan and sneered, "At least I'm better than the two of you. You can't even get a girlfriend. By this time, I'd be glad even if you bring home a boyfriend."

Cherise giggled while Julian and Logan's eyes twitched madly. Their grandpa really had no filter when talking.

"Please, let's get back to our original subject, Grandpa,"

Julian practically begged.

Charles snorted before, much to Julian and Logan's relief, turned serious again. "Alright, we'll host the banquet at Country B since we need to establish a stronger foothold there one month after Agatha's birthday. And I'm going to announce Cherise as the new CEO of the Alster Group." Cherise groaned loudly. "Can I not be the CEO? I'm fine with being the CEO of Angelworld Jewelry."

"No," Charles replied firmly. "I want to retire and laze around in my mansion. So, you'll be the CEO, and Julian will be the President."

Julian sighed. "And here I thought I'd have free time after Cherise became the CEO."

"You wish your grandpa to keep working until I become old and wrinkled?" Charles glared at Julian.

"Of course not, Grandpa," Julian quickly pretended to pacify him.

The three grandchildren tried not to show any amusement on their faces. Did their grandpa not realize how old and wrinkled he was already now?

"I know you are laughing at me in your mind," Charles sneered, which made Cherise, Julian, and Logan finally burst into laughter.

"You are not old and wrinkled yet, Grandpa," Cherise grinned

Charles snorted, "I don't know why I have to keep up with the three of you."

"Because you love us," Cherise, Julian, and Logan said at the same time with laughter.

Charles chuckled, not denying their words. He did love his grandchildren, including Logan, who was adopted. There was no doubt about it.

He then waved his hand and ordered them, "Go back to your rooms and sleep. You'll have a busy day starting tomorrow.".

They stood up, knowing their grandpa needed his sleep too, and bid him goodnight, each returning to their respective rooms to rest for the day.

At the Moonlight Villa, the main door was suddenly opened an hour after Hudson arrived, and Dahlia's shrill voice pierced through the now-silent villa. "Hudson, what do you mean by all these?!"
