My Wife!
Got it! Amelia playfully and somewhat seriously told Alexander, “I want you to invite your friends over, including Ash.”
With uncertainty, Alexander asked, “What are you up to, Amy?” as he observed Amelia closely.
Amelia shrugged indifferently and encouraged, “Just do it already, come on.”
Alexander continued to scan Amelia, noticing that she was deep in thought. Amelia was really a tactful woman.
It was evident that Amelia’s request was not a simple or trivial one. She had something up her sleeve.
“Are you planning something?” Alexander asked, unable to contain his curiosity any longer. “Just spill the beans already!” Alexander was already curious.
Seeing that Amelia wasn’t willing to say anything.
Alexander gazed at Amelia intently before eventually nodding in agreement, expressing his understanding with a simple “okay.”
Amelia maintained a subtle, cunning smile as she locked eyes with Alexander. She asked, “Can you make it tomorrow?”
Alexander immediately frowned at Amelia’s impatience.
Shaking his head in disagreement, Alexander replied, “No, you have to rest first. Your toes are swollen…” As he mentioned this, a wave of regret washed over him once more, and his voice softened as he leaned down closer to her.
“Does it still hurt a lot?” His voice emerged in a low, hoarse tone.
Like autumn weather, cool to the ear, melting one’s soul as his tone rhymes with his softened expression.
Amelia didn’t want him to wallow in that guilt anymore she just shook her head and said “Not really, getting better!”
Amelia didn’t know how to console a person so her statement only made Alexander feel worse.
Amelia cleared her throat “So go invite them!”
“Don’t be in a haste, they won’t be able to make it here” Alexander said as a matter of fact and Amelia immediately frowned.
She didn’t know what she meant to Alexander but she decided to use her trump card.
With a vexed expression, Amelia said “You should be doing my bidding because I’m not forgiving you so easily, you have to do what I want!”
Amelia watched Alexander’s expression, She didn’t know if she was considered somebody worthy of Alex.
She waited for him to frown, shout at her, or immediately walk out but to her surprise, he just nodded while swallowing a lump in his throat.
“Okay, I’ll go give them a call now!” Alexander said calmly and got up from his position.
Amelia watched him stand up without getting angry or had any sort of reluctance in his face.
He’s Good these days!
Amelia thought as she watched him go out.
Weird..
Amelia applied the ointment on her toes and relaxed on the bed for a while and she eventually fell asleep.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Meanwhile, Alexander walked to his study room immediately brought out his phone, and invited George to his house the following day.
“What’s the occasion?? You never invite me to your house on a good day, I only come there on my own will but every time, you leave me in the living room to feed my eyes with the interiors as you won’t even pay me any heeds” George snorted and kept complaining of Alexander’s past behaviors.
“Just come, you talk too much,” Alexander said so calmly and reservedly as he stared out the window.
It was dark already.
George sighed “As long as there is food, have Mrs Gale cook her special Meatballs and Some dumplings,” George said, hungrily as he began to imagine the sight of the dumplings.
“You’re a mess, George!” Alexander said and ended the call directly.
He sighed a bit as he continued to look out of the window.
Should he call Ash to ask her how she was??
But he seemed to realize something, Amelia didn’t like Ash, even at the ball, when Ash had come to meet Amelia, she didn’t respond to her and completely ignored her.
He just pretended as if he didn’t see her though but he was aware of that fact.
But then again, what was Amelia planning by inviting Ash over to the House??
“Amy..” Alexander muttered as a small smile emerged on his face
” wanna bully someone tomorrow!”
He had known this, Amelia wasn’t gonna let go of Ash.
His work would be easy then, he had to control the situation and make sure nothing went wrong.
But then again Alexander had to invite Ash over to the house so he dialed her number but he didn’t allow it to ring as he immediately ended it.
He instead called George again.
“You’re so annoying yonno, ending the call on..”
“Invite Ash as well, tell her to come to my house for a small get-together” After finishing his piece, Alexander ended call.
“This-this little….” George gritted his teeth in anger as he looked at his phone screen.
What’s the matter with Ash?? George thought for a bit before dropping his eyes to the floor.
Alexander didn’t want any more misunderstanding from Amelia so he decided to be scarce to Ash but he wasn’t gonna turn his back on her though.
Just setting a little boundary.
After making preparations, Alexander came down from his study to the dining room to have dinner.
After eating his full, Alexander sat on the chair for a while before his phone rang and he got up from his chair.
“Hello..” Alexander said as he headed upstairs.
“Alex.. where are you??” Ash’s weak voice came from the other side, seemingly weak.
“What’s the problem?? If you’re still feeling sick, then tell the doctor, you have to take care of your health” Alexander said as he stood for a while.
Ash smiled a bit from the other side, “umm just wanted to let you know that I’ve arrived at the hotel, it was nothing serious, just a reaction” Ash said from the other side with a small pitiful voice.
Alexander frowns a bit before saying “Did George tell you anything??”
Ash was a bit sad that Alexander just changed the topic like that but she was a bit glad that he invited her for lunch at his house.
“Yeah, he told me that you want us at your house tomorrow” Ash replied.
Alexander’s mouth twitched “I am not the host..”
Ash frowned deeply as she asked again “Who-who is.??..” Ash had a bad premonition as she had already guessed who was but wanted to hear it from the horse’s mouth.
Was it Amelia?? Then what does she want from her??
Alexander said with a refined voice, with a neutral expression “My wife is the host..”
