Joanna handed a glass of water to Millie as the latter watched on in silence.

She waited for Millie to accept the glass of water, as that would signify that Millie acknowledged her as the lady of the house. She didn't care for anyon it was important that she received Millie's approval.

Millie felt bitter when Joanna handed her the glass of water. Things had changed.

Smiling wryly, she finally accepted the offer. "Thank you, Ms. Lowell."

Joanna's eyes lit up with joy. No one could cheer her up so much by accepting her offer of water. Only Millie could do that.

Millie took a sip of water and placed the glass aside. Joanna had

initially planned to leave for her home to grab something, but she decided to linger around Winston's villa after Millie showed up.

Removing her thin jacket, she settled down from across Millie and initiated a conversation. "Are you joining the cruise party tonight as well?"

"Yes." Millie stole a glance at the second floor, wondering how long it'd take for Winston to wrap up the meeting. If she had to wait longer, she would le

"Ms. Caldwell, make yourself at home. Eat anything you want." Joanna displayed the grace of a hostess.

Millie smiled at the fruit platter on the coffee table. She was about to reach for a

grape when Joanna started speaking again. It was at that time she noticed Joanna wearing a lovely butterfly necklace.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Millie paused. She took another look at Joanna's neck before frowning. "That necklace..." It looked like the same necklace Winston had won at the au

Joanna lowered her gaze and stroked the necklace with a happy smile. She gazed at Millie tenderly. "Oh, is this the necklace you're talking about? It's a gift from Win.

“He placed it on the coffee table because he was too shy to give it to me in person." sighing, Joanna rambled on, “Too bad I'm not into

butterflies. I would have loved it more if it came with a moon or

star charm..."

Millie looked a little dejected as she listened to Joanna. Butterflies were great. She loved butterflies because they broke out of their cocoons and transformed into gorgeous beings. They were powerful and free.

Chuckling, she couldn't believe that Winston went back on his

word to sell her the butterfly necklace and gifted it to Joannal instead.

He seemed like he could do anything for Joanna, even reneging on his promise.

"Mills," Joanna called out to Millie softly.

Millie's lips moved, but she said nothing.

Joanna asked, "Do you know what made Winston fall for me?"

Millie was confused by the question.

Joanna continued, "Guess the r son he unconditionally doted on me for the past three years."

"He loves you.” That was the only answer Millie could think of, as love could conquer anything. He wouldn't have det Joanna have her way if he didn't love her.

Joanna looked Millie in the eye. "To be honest, he doesn't love me."

It was a fact Joanna had known for a while. His "love" stemmed from her lie of saving his life.

"Millie..." Joanna grasped Millie's wrist without warning. A murderous look flashed across her eyes.

She would make sure that Millie wouldn't come home safely from the cruise party later that night.
