Chapter 98
Trevor narrowed his eyes and looked at Jessica, but his eyes were brimming with happiness.
"Why is my wife's face so flushed when she hears of the term 'personal assistant'?" he mused.
"Fine, I agree. However, Mr. Gulliford, I want to set some conditions. You cannot do anything out of hand. I'll only work as your assistant and nothing else." Jessica had her principles. She set down the cup of coffee in her hands and said with determination.
"Don't worry. I know."
Trevor nodded. He then turned, sat on the couch, and watched both his wife and son happily.
"Ms. Lockett, your tear glands are blocked. I'll give you some prescriptions for this. You'll feel better once you take them," Bennett said to her with a smile. After that, he took out a pen and swiftly wrote it on a piece of paper.
"Okay." Jessica nodded, her eyes brimming with
anticipation.
Trevor felt a pang in his heart when he heard that from the side. He kept looking at Jessica.
He gulped and said, "Yourtear glands are blocked?"
"Why was it blocked? When did that happen?" he thought.
There were many things Trevor didn't know about Jessica. He didn't know what she had been through or the pain that she had gone through.
It was all his fault. She was in such a difficult situation because of him.
"It's nothing serious. Don't worry. It won't spread to you."
Jessica sat on the couch and waved her hand lazily but with elegance. Her pale white shoulder was very alluring as well.
"I know," Trevor answered lightly.
He knew it wasn't contagious. It was just heartrending for him to see.
She had been through so much pain and all that was caused by his ineptness.
Trevor felt that he had owed her too much, and he knew that he wouldn't be able to repay her back in his life.
"Okay. Here's the prescription. You'll feel better after you take it."
Bennett gave the prescription he had just wrote to Jessica.
"Martin, prepare the medicine with this prescription, now," Trevor said as he snatched the prescription over. Martin didn't dilly dally as well and took the paper over before leaving.
"I'll bring you for a body check-up tomorrow," he said calmly.
He wanted to know if she had any injuries or anything else that he didn't know about. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
Trevor wanted to treat and cure all the wounds that she had on her and to wait forthem to heal. He also wanted to get rid of all the scars she had on her, even if it would take
long.
Trevor knew that it wouldn't happen anytime soon, but he believed that he could do it because he wouldn't be able to live without her.
The light was always on in the living room of the Gulliford residence. It was all because of how much he had missed her.
"I don't think that's necessary." Jessica slightly furrowed her brows, a little scared.
"No way. Don't tell me he started doubting me. What do I do if he found out I had plastic surgery?" she thought, worried.
"Necessary? Don't think too much about it. It's not just you. I would want everyone working for me to check their body condition, or I'll be worried." "Oh. Okay, then." Jessica nodded.
It would be bad if she was too reluctant about it because Trevor might suspect something if so. She also thought that a normal hospital might not be able to find out that she had plastic surgery since her plastic surgeon had great skills.
Plus, there was also nothing wrong with being found out. Plastic surgery was common nowadays, and many women had done it as well. Jessica wasn't the only one who could undergo plastic surgery.
"Don't worry, Miss Secretary. I won't mistreat you if you work under me. No one would dare bully you, and if someone even so much as touches you, I will not forgive them. You just need to learn how to manage a company, and when the time comes, I will promote you to general
manager," Trevor said seriously.
Not only as general manager, but he would also promote her to director if she wanted to. He didn't see any problems with that.
Jessica and the two of them sat there for quite some time. They even played cards till late at night. Both father and son only left the room when Jessica wanted to change. Bennett stood in front of the mirror, helpless.
He knew he hated Jessica, but he couldn't help but what wanted to get close to her, and he didn't know why.
Jessica gave him a feeling as if he had known her for a very long time, and she would know everything there was about him.
"What are you thinking about, Bennett?" Trevor asked softly when he noticed the spaced-out Bennett.
"Why are you treating her so well?"
