Chapter 85
Although Trevor was powerful enough to deal with rumors, he was not inclined to kick up a fuss about something trivial.
"Mr. Gulliford, I..." the young man trembled.
"Get out if you don't wish to die!"
"Okay, okay! I'll leave right now!" The young man hastily pulled his t-shirt over his head.
Before he could step out of the room, he heard Trevor's low voice booming from behind him. "And get my secretary over here as you're leaving!" "All right." The young man left.
Soon after, Jessica entered the room.
She felt a pair of bright, inky eyes on her as soon as she pushed the door open.
"Mr. Gulliford, is there anything you called me for?"
"What do you mean by sending that man here?" Trevor spoke bluntly. The dissatisfaction in his eyes was as clear as day.
"Was it not what you asked for?" Jessica tentatively asked. She was tempted to let out a giggle but decided against it.
"What did I ask for?" Trevor's face was dark, and he did not find the situation funny.
"Well, you asked for an 'important object' so you probably meant him..."
Trevor pushed Jessica against the wall as soon as she finished her sentence.
"You think he's important?" His voice was low, and his eyes narrowed dangerously.
"Isn't he?" Jessica questioned once more.
"Is he?" Trevor's presence was overwhelming, and a sense of pressure loomed over Jessica.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Carefully, Jessica replied, "Then which one do you like, Mr. Gulliford? I'll arrange forthem to see you. Is it tonight's celebrity? Or some other man?"
Trevor swallowed thickly, and his heart thumped heavily in his chest as he thought, "I wonder if there are any medications for heart attacks here. Some man? What does she mean?"
Trevor spoke again. "You are hell-bent on assuming I'm gay, aren't you? Or perhaps you are giving me a challenge and want to try things out for yourself. Is that it?"
As the last sentence left his lips, Trevor's toe shifted. As he looked at the woman in front of him, a hint of a smile crept upon his lips. "Maybe you're playing hard to get."
"Mr. Gulliford, you've misunderstood;
I am not playing hard to get. Please
let go of me and we'll have a civilized discussion about what you need. If sent the wrong person, go and look for someone else, okay? Didn't you say that you were particularly interested in men when we were in the office?" Jessica was startled.
"There's no need to look for someone else. You'll do just fine." Trevor looked at the demure woman in front of him and smiled. "It's not my fault if she approached me first," he thought. "Don't joke around, Mr. Gulliford. Please let go of me." Jessica's brows furrowed slightly. She was getting frustrated and wondered what Trevor wanted from her.
"What if I won't let you go?" Trevor's tone was teasing, and his smile spread wider as he gazed at her.
"Then you'll have to forgive me for what I'm about to do." Jessica raised a slender hand and moved to hit Trevor in the neck, but he quickly grasped her hand, blocking her actions. Trevor was surprised that Jessica could fight. He had never thought it a possibility and was confused about when she had learned it.
"What's wrong? You're angry?" Trevor stopped his teasing and let go of her hand before he stepped quickly to the side.
He did not dare to anger his sweetheart. If he kept pestering her, it would be impossible to get back on her good side.
"Mr. Gulliford, do be civilized. I am
not the type of person you take me
for. I can work as a secretary for you, but will do nothing else." Jessica smoothed out the wrinkles on her clothes as her eyes betrayed her grudgingthoughts.
"What an obnoxious man! He really is a player; he even tried to take advantage of me, an employee! I can't believe Trevor is this sort of man. must've been blind for all
those years I liked him." Jessica
fumed in her heart.
"I won't joke anymore. Have a seat; I have some things to discuss with you." Trevor turned around and walked to the table beside the sofa. Pulling the drawers open, he took out a gift box. Jessica walked over and sat opposite him while scrutinizing the finely-wrapped box in his hands. "Does this player think I will sleep with him for some gifts?" she thought.
"This gown is for you." Trevor slid the purple gift box over to her.
His eyes were full of fondness as he looked up at her.
