Chapter 68
"I'm new here, so please look after me in the future." Jessica smiled faintly. Although she took over the cake from him, she did not eat it and merely placed it on her plate.
"Don't worry!" The man patted his chest. "Let me know if you have anything you need. I'll protect you."
"You can protect me too." A deep and low voice traveled from behind them. When the man saw Trevor, his heart almost stopped beating. Then, he immediately stood up and called, "Hello, Mr. Gullifo rd!"
"Mm." Trevor nodded, having no intention to leave. His white shirt caused him to look more indifferent than usual.
"Mr. Gulliford, you guys can go ahead with your conversation. I'll take my leave. Do let me know if you have anything, though." The man left hastily and hid in the corridor, patting his chest to reassure himself. "I just wanted to hit her up. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that Mr. Gulliford would come over!" he thought.
"Mr. Gulliford, may I know what I can help you with?"
Jessica felt exasperated when seeing him suddenly appear. "What's he doing here?" she wondered.
"You're wearing the wrong suit jacket." Trevor revealed the hands behind his back. Then, he placed the female suit jacket on the table.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Jessica's eyes widened when she saw her suit jacket on the table. "If the suit jacket on the table is mine, then..." Immediately, she stood up and took off Trevor's suit jacket. "I'm sorry, Mr. Gulliford. I accidentally took the wrong jacket as it's both black. I'm so sorry!" "Let's just swap." Trevor took over the suit jacket in her hands emotionlessly while staring at her face.
"I'm so sorry. kknow that you have mysophobia and hate people touching your clothes. I'll definitely pay more attention next time."
Jessica was a bit flustered, foral net
Trevor's suit jacket was way too expensive. She would feel heartache if he asked her to pay for it.
"How do you know that I have mysophobia?" Trevor furrowed his eyebrows. Jessica was a newly-hired employee, after all. Therefore, he wondered how she knew about it. Panic struck Jessica as she glanced at his suit jacket.
However, she managed to
recompose herself in the next
second. "M Gulliford, although I'm only here for a couple of days, I've heard quite some things about Horington's Mr. Gulliford. The fact that you have mysophobia is the first thing listed on your Google page," she explained while meeting his gaze calmly.
Thankfully, she had gone through his profile before and managed to remember this detail.
"Is that right?" Trevor narrowed his eyes and gazed at her, his eyes flashing with suspicion.
"Of course. I'm quite pleased if you think I look like your wife. After all, I'm just an average person attracted by the evil pull of money," Jessica said casually while wearing the suit jacket.
Trevor stood there without a word. After all, The old Jessica would never say such things. Although she liked money, she did not care much about it. His wife only cared about freedom and ways to get away from him.
"Trevor! Nice to see you here. We
haven't met in such a longtime. I have a lot of things to tell you." Leah wore an exquisite pink gown, and her hair was tied into a high bun. She was also carrying a pink goat fur bag, looking absolutely gorgeous.
When compared to her, Jessica was practically invisible sitting next to her.
"Since Mr. Gulliford has something to do, I shall not take more of your time." Grabbing the unfinished whiskey in her hand, she turned to leave.
However, she only managed to take two steps before the man behind stopped her. "Where are you escaping off to? Did I say you could go?" When he saw how much she wanted to leave in a rush, it vaguely reminded her of his wife.
