Chapter 65
"She doesn't."
Trevor frowned as a fleeting expression of sorrow graced his face.
Indeed, the five years of chaos had made that woman's life lose much of its initial luster. She wasn't even able to walk normally, not to mention dance at all. And it was all thanks to him.
This strengthened his resolve to find Jessica no matter what.
"Mr. Gulliford, I heard that you are very skilled in snooker. Is it true that you won first place in the citywide competition?"Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Jessica steered away from the topic of their conversation. She had not forgotten about Martin's request.
"That's right."
Trevor replied as he glance at her reflectively.
Jessica wore a one-piece dress. She had an attractive figure, delicate facial features, and fair skin. It was a shame that, besides her eyes, she did not resemble Jessica at all.
"I am quite fond of snooker myself. Would you be so kind as to share some of your tricks with me when you're free, Mr. Gulliford?"
"Why not now?"
Trevor put aside his work as he continued sipping his coffee.
"Really? That's great! Let's go then."
Jessica beamed as she headed out.
Trevor removed his coat and straightened the collar of his white dress shirt before leaving.
This woman felt strangely familiar to him.
He deduced that even if she weren't Jessica, she would surely know about her.
He might even glean some information from her.
They walked toward the building on the north side, which had entertainment and recreational facilities.
On the way there, Martin hinted at Jessica from a distance away.
She saw a boat that was docked at the beach and came to a halt.
"Mr. Gulliford, I believe someone's here."
Trevor spotted Martin at the corner and connected the dots.
"You set me up."
He bit out menacingly.
Jessica had not wanted him to teach
mere Snooker at all. It was a ploy to get him out of net
office, so it looked as if he'd
been on
his way to meet Leah.
No-one else would have collaborated with her besides Martin.
He did not enjoy being tricked for the first time in his life.
"Trevor, I can't believe you've personally come to welcome me! I'm so glad!"
A sultry woman in red stilettos and skimpy clothing made her way toward him.
Her innocently saccharine voice, combined with her matured make-up and outfit, was a disconcerting sight.
Jessica was surprised when she
took a closer look at her face.
Wasn't she the one who had pl
her at Eliason's toilet?
So this was Leah. No wonder Trevor mentioned meeting her before.
"This way."
Trevor said impassively before turning to leave.
Jessica trailed behind him in guilty silence.
She poured two glasses of orange juice and served them to Trevor and Leah in the office.
"Trevor, you look as dashing as always. I can't believe it's been so long!"
Leah scooted closer to Trevor and bent forward, surreptitiously revealing her cleavage.
Trevor barely spared her a glance as he leaned backward on the couch and massaged his nose bridge with a grimace.
"Are you unwell? Do you need me to massage your shoulders? You must be wrung out!"
Leah fawned over him sweetly as
she reached out her hand. She was about t touch him but shrank bank
when she met his menacing glare.
"I hate it when people touch me."
