Chapter 67: The Connections
He wipes out the blood stains on his hands after finishing beating up his cousin, who is now lying unconscious on the floor.
“Is this okay?” Rolando asks his Master, to which Xander responds with a smirk.
“I guess it’s okay for you,” Rolando sighs, already resigned to his Master’s attitude and behavior. He looks at Xander, who is now panting while taking off his polo shirt. Xander has a serious case of allergies when touching a person, but tonight he took off his gloves and beat Lorenzo to a pulp. Anger really pushes people to their limits.
“Mariel, bring Master Lorenzo to his room and don’t let anyone enter. Understand?” Rolando instructs the maid.
“Yes, Butler Rolando,” Mariel responds, quickly signaling to the other servants to assist in getting Lorenzo out of the room.
“Lucky bastard,” Rolando mumbles while thinking about Lorenzo’s personal butler. The butler resigned last month, and now Rolando thinks that he left immediately knowing what would happen if Lorenzo was caught.
Rolando glances at his master, who is now sitting on the floor, pushing himself to calm down and quickly regain his composure.
“Master,” Rolando calls to Xander. He is heading towards his direction when a familiar loud voice calls their names.
“ROLANDO! XANDER!” It was Dr. Krizza, who is pregnant, calling their names.
Rolando quickly runs towards her direction, doing his best to make her stop running.
“What’s the matter? Why are you in a hurry?” Rolando asks Krizza.
“I came here when I received a call from Brian, Giselle’s best friend. He said that I need to come here quickly because her friend will do something terrible. When I arrived here, I heard a gunshot and saw servants assisting Raulo, who has a gunshot wound on his foot!”
“WHAT?!” Xander loudly asked as he quickly stood up and wiped his sweat from his forehead.
“I think Master and I should go to the Head Master. If Raulo was shot, it means that Giselle is already in his office.”
“Then I will come with you,” Dr. Kriza said, turning to leave, but Rolando stopped her.
“No! You will stay here. You are pregnant; something might happen to you!”
“I need to be there. What if something happens to Giselle and the baby due to her reckless behavior? Among us, I am the only one qualified to give her first aid and to check her condition. I NEED TO BE THERE!” Dr. Kriza insisted.
“But your condition is critical too!” Rolando strongly said, emphasizing her situation.
“I’m going first. It looks like the two of you need to have a serious talk with each other,” Xander said as he ran outside the room after putting on his polo.
Xander left the two behind because this is an emergency. He was too preoccupied with Lorenzo that he forgot about Giselle. He forgot that Giselle eagerly wanted to know the location of her daughter.
“Sh*t!” He cursed as he ran as fast as he could until he bumped into someone.
“OUCH!” Xander quickly looked at the person he bumped into and his eyes instantly widened when he realized who it was.
“Clarissa,” he said under his breath, referring to the 7-year-old daughter of Giselle.
The child looked at Xander with fierce eyes. “You are that person!” Clarissa exclaimed, leaving Xander puzzled about what this kid said.
He is going to talk with the kid when an old lady rushes towards them. “CLARISSA! WHY ARE YOU RUNNING LIKE THAT!”
“Lola! That man is the one who took my mother away!” Clara said while pointing at Xander.
“Clarissa! Stop pointing at others!” The old woman said to the kid.
“Master Xander!” Xander looked at the three people who were after the two. Xander quickly recognized the uniformed man.
“Where will you bring these two?” Xander asks.
“Master Xander, they are guests of the Head Master,” one of the men said. Xander stood up straight and fixed his posture.
“Great! Bring me with them. I also need to see the Head Master,” Xander calmly said to those two.
“I guess you are bringing them to his office, right?” Xander added. The two men just looked at each other as they communicated by locking eyes.
“Sure, Master Xander. Follow us,” one of the men said as they started to guide the three people to the office of the head master. While walking, Xander couldn’t help but glance at the daughter of Giselle, Clarissa Hidalgo A. K. A Clara. He could see a little resemblance to Giselle, especially in her eyes, but the rest he could see a resemblance with him, especially in the lips. It was as if she had the lips of the Monteverdes.
After a few minutes, they reached the office of the Head of the family.
GISELLE immediately looked at the door when she saw it open. Her eyes widened when she saw her daughter Clarissa standing with her grandma. Clarissa quickly ran towards her mother and hugged her.
“Clarissa…. My dear Clarissa,” Giselle called her daughter’s name as she hugged her dearly.
“You! What are you doing here?” All the attention immediately fell on Perol when he pointed out Soleng, the grandmother of Clarissa.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“Master Perol,”Soleng said as she immediately bowed to him. Xander’s forehead crumpled because of what was happening right now.
“Why are you surprised? Did you know her?” Xander asked while looking at his grandfather.
“Why is she here?! Did you bring her, Xander!?”
“No, I didn’t bring her here. On the contrary, your men brought her here with Giselle’s daughter.”
Perol’s eyes instantly landed on Clarissa, Giselle’s daughter. His eyes widened in disbelief.
“Soleng, are you the biological grandmother of this child? Is this child also Elissa’s granddaughter?” Perol desperately asked, making Giselle look at Soleng.
“What is the meaning of this? Why is he interrogating you?” Giselle asked out of curiosity.
Perol looked at one of his men as he gave him an order. Xander just observed what his grandfather was doing right now. He knew that there would be a big scenario happening inside this office.
“Giselle,” Soleng called out as she walked towards her.
“You married the grandson of Perol? And is that your child with him?” Soleng asked, tears streaming down her face in disbelief.
“Yes. Why are you crying? What is your relationship with him?” Giselle quickly inquired, sensing she had done something she shouldn’t have.
“Get off me!” All attention turned to the door as a loud woman screamed.
“Elissa,” Giselle muttered under her breath.
Elissa fiercely looked at Perol, but her expression softened when she saw Giselle and her mother standing inside the office. “What are you two doing here?” Elissa asked, her eyes landing on a little child hugging Giselle.
“Clarissa,” Giselle confirmed.
“Elissa, is that child my grandchild?”
Giselle and Xander’s eyes widened in shock at the revelation. In their minds, ‘Grandchild?’
“Yes, she is your grandchild. Deal with it, Perol,” Elissa said after composing herself.
Xander’s mouth fell open as he quickly walked toward his grandfather. “Do you have another child? A bastard child the family didn’t know about?” he asked, covering his mouth in disbelief.
“If it’s true, I married my uncle’s wife and impregnated her,” Xander mumbled, glancing at Giselle, who was also in a state of shock.
“It’s true, Xander. I have a child with this woman. I only found out on my birthday. That’s why I searched for her, to meet my son,” Perol confessed.
“No! This can’t be true. The father of Lucas is Bernardino Milacio, a farmer in the province,” Giselle hysterically denied, unable to accept what she was hearing.
“No! My father’s son is Perol. And by the way, Perol, our son is already deceased. Too bad you cannot meet him anymore,” Elissa casually disclosed, shocking Perol.
“What? He’s dead? How?” Perol stammered.
“Due to an accident, but he left a child in this world. And this is her, Clarissa,” Elissa explained.
Perol looked at the child, who was now hiding behind Giselle. He then looked back at Giselle, pointing at her. “This woman is my bastard son’s wife, the mother of his child, and also the wife of my grandson and the mother of his child. Did you know all of this?” Perol asked, leaving Giselle laughing hysterically.
“If I had known he was my late husband’s nephew, I wouldn’t be here in front of you,” Giselle retorted fiercely.
“Destiny is really cruel,” Elissa commented as she walked toward Perol.
“How did you two have a son together? I thought you were loyal to Grandma?” Xander questioned, disappointedly looking at Perol.
“It was an accident. I was drunk. It was merely an accident!” Perol exclaimed loudly.
“It’s not important anymore! What’s important now is for you to accept the fact that you had a child together. Actually, I didn’t expect to announce it in front of your grandson, granddaughter, and my ex-daughter-in-law,” Elissa said, turning toward Giselle.
“And I didn’t expect my ex-daughter-in-law to be pregnant and married to her late husband’s nephew. It’s really unexpected,” she added.
“My neck,” Perol muttered as he stumbled onto his seat, unable to absorb the fact that his son and grandson had married the same woman and both had children with her.
“Now, Perol, after you’ve learned the truth you’ve been yearning for, I guess I can leave this mansion now,” Elissa said, looking at Perol.
“No! You can’t leave this mansion!” Giselle yelled, glaring at Elissa.
“After knowing what happened, after learning the twisted fate you brought upon me, you’re saying you’re going to leave as if nothing happened? Oh, no! I will not let that happen!”
“It’s not my fault, Giselle. It’s just destiny,” Elissa replied, making Giselle grit her teeth in annoyance. She wanted to go with her and pull her hair, hurt this woman standing in front of her. But she couldn’t; first, her daughter was with her right now, and second, she felt like she was in labor.
“Yes, I agree with Giselle. Grandfather, you can’t let this woman freely leave this mansion. I believe there’s still something we have to learn from her!” Xander agreed with Giselle.
“Yes, I agree with Xander. You will not leave this mansion without my permission!” Perol declared, signaling to his henchman to take Elissa back to her room.
“Hey! What are you doing, Perol? This is illegal! You cannot imprison me in this mansion just like what you did to her!” Elissa fought back, not wanting to be dragged out again by these two men.
“Ahhhh!!!” All eyes and attention landed on Clarissa when she suddenly screamed out of fear.
“Mama is bleeding! She’s hurt!” she cried while screaming. Xander quickly went to Giselle and swiftly carried her in a bridal style.
“Rolando! Ready my car, and Kriza, come with me!” Xander screamed at the door, knowing that Rolando and Kriza were standing and waiting outside the office. Xander quickly ran out of the office while carrying Giselle, seeing that she was really in pain.
“Hold on, Giselle. Hold on,” Xander whispered again and again until they reached his car. Xander put Giselle in the back of his car where Dr. Kriza was located.
“Take care of her,” Xander said as he quickly got inside the car, started it, and drove away from the mansion. When they left, the mansion was in an uproar about what happened to Giselle because a trail of blood was scattered in the mansion.
“Lola, what will happen to Mama? Will she be okay?” Clarissa asked as she hugged her Lola Corazon.
“She will be okay, my dear, and your younger sibling will be okay too. I know your mother; she is a fighter,” Corazon gently answered Clarissa.
Clarissa’s face immediately turned emotionless when she heard the term “younger sibling.”
“I hope that thing will not survive. She’s hurting my mother,” she mumbled under her breath as she grasped tightly onto her grandmother’s skirt.
