See You Never, Mr. Lamont

Chapter 4 Confrontation

What relationship?

There was a high probability it was a sibling relationship. But was it necessary to tell an outsider about this kind of thing?

Waldron crossed his arms over his chest. Smirking, he glanced at Edmond and Rosalie as if enjoying a show and said, “Mr. Lamont, haven’t you and the lady gotten divorced already? Why do you still care so much about her private life?

“I always thought your girlfriend was Ms. Clayton. I didn’t expect you to have one outside and one at home. Mr. Lamont, when it comes to being a pla yboy, even I have to concede inferiority to you.”

No wonder she brought the divorce agreement to the bar. With a husband fooling around like this, anyone would find it intolerable.

It would be best for Edmond if Claudia wasn’t Waldron’s sister. Otherwise, the entire Friedan family would make Edmond pay.

Waldron didn’t directly answer his question.

This time, Edmond didn’t stop him.

The angry Waldron who was indignant for others and retorted against him had clearly lost his temper.

“Edmond, I’ve never seen Waldron help a woman like this before.”

Rosalie was anxious and aggrieved.

Waldron actually stood up for Claudia?

How did they get together without any news leaking out at all?

Edmond pressed his lips tightly, cold intent wanton in his eyes.

The seeds of doubt had already been planted, just waiting to take root and grow.

After leaving the bar, Claudia returned to the house Eleanor had lived in before passing away.

Eleanor’s dying wish was for Claudia to find her own family. Eleanor said that even if her parents weren’t good, at least having a brother or sister would be better.

Eleanor had no children or family throughout her entire life. All her hopes were pinned on Claudia. She worked diligently and saved every penny to raise Claudia, but she didn’t get to enjoy the fruits of her hard work before she passed away.

“Grandma, I will definitely avenge you.”

Even if Rosalie was a towering tree, Claudia would shake her.

Claudia searched all night but didn’t find the box Eleanor mentioned regarding her origins.

The next morning, Edmond called.

“Where are you?”

“What’s the matter?” Her voice was unprecedentedly cold.

“Come back home. I need to talk to you about something.”

“That’s not my home anymore,” she said, gazing at the darkening sky. Her throat felt a bit sore. “Just say it over the phone.”

“When did you get to know Waldron?” Edmond asked outright. “Are you divorcing me to be with him?”

Waldron?

This name sounded a bit familiar.

Claudia suddenly recalled he was the third son of the Friedan family.

She didn’t understand why Edmond would mistakenly think there was something between Waldron and her. But since the agreement was already signed, she didn’t want to delve too deeply into certain matters

anymore.

“Edmond, we’ve already signed the divorce agreement. I hope you don’t interfere with my matters anymore.”

“We did sign the agreement, but we’re not divorced yet.” Edmond’s tone was extremely cold. “Didn’t you say Rosalie harmed your grandmother? I’ve called the caregiver over.”

The caregiver had gone to the Lamont’s manor?

Claudia’s hand trembled.

She hadn’t been able to contact the caregiver at all after that day. She didn’t expect Edmond to have found her.

“Alright, I’ll come over right away.”

Wasn’t it just to get at the truth?

Then she would give them the truth.

When Claudia arrived at the Lamont’s manor, she didn’t see the

caregiver. She only saw Rosalie sitting to the side enjoying breakfast.

Rosalie elegantly ate her breakfast while Cindy Knight, the housekeeper, bustled around. Anyone unaware of the situation would have assumed that Rosalie was the lady of the house.

Claudia’s gaze indifferently landed on where Rosalie sat. That was her usual spot, by the window for better ventilation and lighting. It

provided an unobstructed view of the distant lake. However, now it was occupied by another woman.

“Mrs…” Seeing Claudia come in, embarrassment showed on Cindy’s face.

“Oh, you’re here?” Rosalie smiled innocently. “Cindy didn’t prepare breakfast for you. You don’t mind, right?”

It was only then that Claudia noticed all the food on the table was light fare, clearly specially made for Rosalie.

Adapting to circumstances is a natural instinct, especially for someone like Cindy, who was receiving a salary from the Lamont family.

Claudia smiled faintly and said, “Ms. Clayton is a guest, after all. It’s only appropriate for Cindy to attend to the guests.”

The word “guest” was both sarcastic and a reminder.

But Rosalie didn’t care at all. She laughed and said, “I’m a guest for now, but I’ll become the lady of the house soon.”

“That depends on whether I’m leaving or not. If I’m not, you’ll never become the lady of the house.” As Claudia spoke, she suddenly felt this method was quite effective.

If she left smoothly, she would be fulfilling the desire of this unfaithful pair.

If it wasn’t for Eleanor’s incident, she might have chosen to leave. But

since Eleanor had been harmed to death by Rosalie, not leaving could retaliate against Rosalie instead.

Sure enough, hearing this, Rosalie’s expression changed. “What are you trying to do?”

“I just feel it wouldn’t be bad to make you the mistress forever.”

To be the mistress forever, then all her efforts would have been wasted!

Rosalie absolutely could not allow this to happen.

“Claudia, if it weren’t for Edmond, you wouldn’t even have the qualifications to talk to me here.” Remembering Edmond’s warning, Rosalie’s anger surged.

Edmond said that Claudia had been his wife for a few years after all, and if not for her contributions then at least for her hardships. He told Rosalie not to go overboard.

But if pushed to the edge, Rosalie was capable of anything no matter how excessive.

“You’re truly pathetic. Edmond doesn’t love you anymore, yet you still cling on, unwilling to let go.”

Rosalie’s words were like a sword, accurately stabbing Claudia’s heart.

Claudia smiled without speaking.

Love? Edmond had never loved her from the beginning.

“Ms. Clayton, the one who interferes in someone else’s marriage is the most shameless.”

“Nonsense!” Rosalie charged furiously towards Claudia, reaching to claw her face. Claudia quickly dodged to the side.

Rosalie couldn’t stop her momentum and lurched forward completely.

There was a fish tank in front.

With a “bang”, shattered glass littered the floor.

Time froze.

Then a heart-wrenching scream rang out through the villa.

Rosalie’s hand had been sliced open, blood flowing out nonstop.

“My hand, my hand!” Rosalie was terrified.

She was a jewelry designer. Her hands were of utmost importance, to the extent that the Claytons had even insured them.

But now, that terrifying ga sh extended from the back of her hand to her palm.

“Claudia, I’m going to kill you!” At this moment, Rosalie couldn’t even feel the pain. She only wanted Claudia to suffer this kind of pain too.

Clutching a long glass shard, she charged at Claudia, trying to slash Claudia’s face.

Just then, a black shadow blocked in front of Claudia. That person reached out and grabbed the shard.

Blood trickled down along the glass

“Edmond!”

“Edmond!”

Claudia froze.

Rosalie was stunned.

As if by fate, Edmond had the same wound in the exact same spot on

his hand.

“Edmond, why did you shield her?” Rosalie fell apart.

Edmond didn’t respond. He glanced at her bleeding hand and frowned at the ser vant girl who didn’t dare approach. “Go call Dr. Larson over.”

Clyde Larson was the Lamont family’s personal physician and lived right next door to them.

Claudia ran over to grab the first aid kit. She took out disinfectants and walked towards Edmond, but was violently shoved away by the

incensed Rosalie.

“Get lost! This is all because of you. Now both Edmond and I are injured because of you.”

Claudia stood there motionless, gazing fixedly at Edmond.

“I didn’t mean to.”
