Save Sweetlove Novel by Wallis Watt

Chapter 3

“Why da ise have to wait until Saturday? Evie frowned, her big eyes filled with confusion.

Julian and Eddy exchanged a knowing look.

Evie was right. Maybe they could go to Anson first and help Elaine vent her anger.

The three kids all agreed on it and got started.

The office door was slightly pushed open.

After confirming that the secretary was concentrating on his work, the kids tiptoed away.

Soon, they happened to pass the conference room.

Julian shushed Eddy and Evie with a forefinger to the lips.

Then, the three kids leaned against the door, eavesdropping.

In the conference room, the atmosphere was extremely solemn,

“Mr. Moore, it’s all thanks to Ms. Gray’s talent that the Sevier Group has developed rapidly these years. Since we have decided to enter the domestic market, the fastest way is to cooperate with the strongest company. Isn’t a win–win situation good enough? I don’t understand why we must compete with Cameron Group.”

The marketing director expressed his concerns.

Martin crossed his arms. His striking face displayed a trace of gloominess, a stark contrast to the tenderness he had shown toward Elaine and the three adorable children earlier.

“I also believe we shouldn’t rush into a confrontation with Cameron Group. This is not in our best interest.

All the senior executives began discussing, and more and more voices disagreed with taking on Cameron Group.

Martin now seemed even more gloomy. He knocked on the table with a stern look. “The Cameron Group urgently needs to enter the market in the Midwest. Coincidentally, our company is leading the market in the Midwest and enjoys a good reputation there.

Everyone hesitated.

Elaine said, “Everyone, this is the Twitter posted by Mr. Cameron’s fiancée not long ago.”

All heads turned to the projection screen, where they saw a unique design.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

“This design is quite impressive.”

“Hasn’t anyone noticed anything unusual about it?” Elaine asked her eyes filled with interest

The executives all stared at the design, scanning every detail, searching for what she was alluding to.

Ms. Gray, what exactly is wrong with this design?”

“I can assure you that this design does not belong to Mr. Cameron’s fiancée, Lamia White.”

The entire meeting room was dead silent. Then, everyone startell discussing non–stop.

The marketing director carefully recalled the works of internationally influential designers in recent years.

However, no one’s design style was exactly the same as this one.

“But who is the real designer then?”

“I can’t tell you now, but I’m sure that Anson will choose to compromise in the end.”

“Ms. Gray, I have to remind you that this is a meeting for senior executives, but you are just a chief designer of the Sevier Group. I hope you know where you stand,” the marketing director said in a sulk.

Martin’s sudden move to transfer all of the company’s top talents to the branch at Denvil City had already made them feel like they were witnessing a farce. And now, targeting the Cameron Group based on Elaine’s unverified statement seemed utterly ridiculous.

Elaine showed a faint smile, yet there was no sign of amusement within it.

Martin growled, “Gideon, what are you talking about?”

Gideon Thomas looked serious. “Mr. Moore, I’ve worked in the Sevier Group for five years, and I have witnessed its growth. We’ve only just arrived in Denvil City, and creating such a commotion is highly inappropriate

“Mr. Thomas, I understand your sentimental attachment to the Sevier Group, but I can guarantee that the Cameron Group will compromise if we snatch this order.”

“Ms. Gray, you can’t convince me with your so–called guarantee. I’d like to know where your confidence comes from. Is it solely because of this design?” Gideon was a man of unwavering integrity, so he had to make sure before anything happened.

Tensions in the meeting room had reached a breaking point.

Outside the door, the three kids looked at each other and were sure that Elaine had a grudge against Lamia after hearing the conversation inside.

Anticipating a long meeting, they quickly made their way to the Cameron Group.

“Evie, do you remember what we told you just now?” Julian asked.

Evie nodded earnestly.

Eddy gestured to her with an encouraging thumbs–up, saying, “Evie, don’t be afraid. We will be right outside.”

Evie rubbed her eyes and ran into the Cameron Building-

A security guard immediately stopped her. “Hold on, little one. Whose child are you?”

Looking at the stern–faced security guard, Evie sniffed, and her tears instantly flowed down.

Hearing her crying, any people turned their heads to look at him.

The security guard frowned and explained, “I didn’t do anything to her.”

However, nobody believed him, and they all looked at him contemptuously.

“What happened?”

A deep male voice suddenly sounded.

Anson was wearing a handmade high–end suit, and his eyes were cold and deep. He looked so aloof as if he could keep everyone away just by looking at them.

“Mr. Cameron, this little girl ran in while crying, so I stopped her and only asked whose child she was. I…

The security guard was so anxious that he stammered.

Anson was astonished when he looked at Evie, who was crying sadly.

Milo, who was standing beside Anson, was equally shocked.

He wondered why this little girl resembled Elaine so much.

Milo glanced at Anson sideways, then briskly walked over to the little girl.

“Sweetie, tell me where your parents are.” Milo crouched down, his eyes gentle as he looked at her.

I can’t find my Mommy…

“Do you remember your mommy’s name?”

Evie shook her head.

“Where’s your daddy?”

Evie glanced at Anson and shook her head again.

Milo asked several other questions, but Evie kept shaking her head.

“How about this, sweetie? I call the police and let them help you find your mom, okay?”

“I’m thirsty.” Evie sobbed.

She looked so aggrieved that it made people feel pity for her.

Evie’s tearful look made Anson lose in a brief trance. When he snapped back to reality, he said, “Take her upstairs first and contact Brad to find her family.”

“Okay, sir.”

Milo held Evie’s hand and was about to go upstairs, but Evie broke free from his hand and staggered to catch up with Anson.

“Sir, wait!”

Anson stared at Evie without blinking.

“Thank you! Here’s a candy bar for you.” Evie smiled and took out a candy bar from her pocket.

The candy wrapper was shining, and it was very beautiful.

Anson recalled that someone from his past used to enjoy this kind of candy bar very much.

As the memory flushed–into Anson’s mind, he clenched his hands little by little.

“The candy bar is delicious. Here, I’ll help you open it!” After opening the candy wrapper, Evie raised her arm and handed it to Anson.

When everyone thought that Anson would get furious, he actually took the candy bar from Evie’s hand and put it in hist mouth

Everyone was stunned and wondered if they were having hallucinations.

After confirming that Anson had eaten the candy bar, Evie returned to Milo’s side and said with a smile, “Thank you, sir.”

Milo also smiled and teased her, “Is there any candy bar for me?”

Evie frowned. “No, sorry. I only have one.”

“That’s okay, sweetie.”

After Milo led Evie to his office, he was about to contact Brad Jackson, the Chief of Police.

Suddenly, a sharp alarm sound echoed through the office, sending everyone into turmoil.
