Rise of the Billionaire actress

DDD 36

The next day, Deloise woke up with a headache she described as demonic. Her head pounded while she attempted opening her eyes properly.

A blinding streak of sunlight made her deck underneath her pillow. She sat up and memories of the previous night poured into her consciousness – reminding her of the very reason her head was in a terrible state.

Of course it was the drink! She was such a deadbeat when it came to drinking and always found the morning after horrific.

Again, she promised never to get drunk again, this time around, hoping she actually lived up to it. Feeling the urge to ease herself, Deloise attempted getting up on her feet but was brought back to bed by the sudden dizziness she felt.

Due to the unexpected give away of her feet, she felt queasy and the urge to puke was uncontrollable. Before she could get to the toilet area, she emptied the content of her stomach on the floors and Layla walked in.

” Oh my goodness! Are you alright?! ” The worried voice of Layla asked upon seeing her roommate doubled over on the floor. ” I knew I shouldn’t have left! Here’s some water.” She said, handing over a bottle of water she got from her little time out.

” Remind me never to drink again.” Deloise said, feeling embarrassed to be seen in such a state. She regretted drinking so much the night before but when she thought of how the night panned out, she didn’t know how to feel.

” No need to feel shy.” Layla said after directing her back to bed, then took up a mop stick. ” I’ve seen worse.” She said with a smile as she got to work.

” How are you even standing?”

Deloise couldn’t understand how she wasn’t hungover. Layla had taken multiple drinks the night before yet she was up and doing like nothing happened.

” Uhm, with my legs? ” She replied with a laugh, “I have a big tolerance for alcohol. I guess I never really get drunk, just tipsy.” She explained to Deloise who stared at her like she developed a second head.

” I don’t even know what to say. My head’s banging. You are so lucky you don’t get to experience this.” Deloise looked sour. ” Now I taste like vomit. I need to freshen up.” She got up on her feet, this time around, walking slowly to avoid getting hazy.

” Alright. By the time you’re done, the special soup will be ready.”

Deloise headed on to freshen up as quickly as possible. In a few minutes, she was out and as per Layla’s words, there was some hangover soup ready for her consumption alongside other mouth watering dishes.

By the time she was done with the soup, she felt a tad bit better and indulged in a friendly conversation with her friend and roommate.

” You went crazy! The whole school is probably still talking about last night’s events. I knew you had it in you! ” Layla chatted excitedly.

During her little jog out, she’d overheard multiple conversations about Aaron and ‘some girl ‘ who lit up the party the night before.

Of course she stayed back and listened for as much as she could before returning home. She felt like a proud mom, having been the sole reason Deloise made it to the party, talk more of dancing so closely with the industry’s prince.

” It’s not that serious. I danced with multiple guys, you’re taking this to another level.” Deloise said, downplaying the hype.

” The whole school is taking it to another level! You needed to have seen yourself last night. Took over the damned party!”

Truthfully, Deloise had an inkling of the fact that she probably lost it the night before. What was she thinking to actually dance and grind on the jerk?! He was probably thinking she was mesmerized by his alluring orbs, sensual voice and gorgeous body.

Focus Deloise, focus!

What was she even thinking? She couldn’t let herself be swayed by the little hiccup experienced between them the night before. At least not until he was decent enough to actually pen out an apology.

Until then, he’s still an arrogant and evil jerk who insulted and beat her at her lowest point. Not to talk of the person who went out of his way to insult her mother.

Yeah right, he was still that guy.

” Honestly, I don’t really care. They can talk all they want. It’ll die down eventually.”

Meanwhile, on the other side of things, Tony and Aaron were seated in the living area. They had just finished eating some brunch as a result of their night out which prompted their sleeping in.

They were both knackered from the night before and figured it was best to return to Aaron’s to pass the remainder of the night. A decision that led to Tony being a pest about what happened the night before.

” Look me in the eye and tell me you didn’t enjoy it! Heck, even if you did that, I still wouldn’t believe you.” Tony geeked, milking him of every information.

” It was just a dance! I can’t wrap my head on why you’re being so overbearing about it. It’s not like she’s the first I’ve danced with in a party.” He defended.

” But she’s different from the rest! Don’t even think about lying. That much was obvious from your relations with her. Taking her away from her dance partner like some alpha wolf marking his territory? You can’t downplay this even if you tried.”

” Don’t be delusional. This isn’t a fairy tale or some movie script. I’m only going to say this once so listen carefully; it was just a dance.” He said, enunciating every syllable as though trying to be as clear as possible.

” A meaningful dance. One that we are all gushing about. Don’t get me started on the news on campus. Have you seen the videos? Apparently, beautiful stole Stella’s place and honestly speaking, I don’t mind having her instead. ” Tony said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively

Aaron felt at loss for words. He knew the night before was intense but he wasn’t about to humour his friend or anyone else.

Heck he wasn’t even about to humour himself that there was something there. And so, he opted for doing what he knew best.

He laughed. So loud that Tony felt he’s gone berserk.

” Okay, listen to me. I’d rather have a mentally impaired person than have her alright. Don’t forget she’s a crazy woman. And no amount of dancing can change that.” He said offhandedly while the jaws of Tony dropped open.

How could he be so insensitive?!

At that moment, Stella walked into the home, looking especially sweetened as she had overheard Aaron’s words. Contrary to her former disposition upon coming, she felt a lot better!

” Good morning guys! What’s up?” She said as soon as her presence was made known.

” Great! Just discussing Aaron’s little gossip from last night.” Tony chirped, gunning for Stella’s reaction.

” It’s just gossip. It’ll die in due time.” She replied offhandedly and sat close to Aaron. ” I’m hungry! Let’s cook something.”

” I’m really not cut out for it. Maybe later. ” Aaron said, stifling a yawn.

” You know that there’s a meeting tomorrow though, the last before filming. ” Stella Informed, desperate to continue the conversation. ” I can’t wait to finally get the formal reading. It’s all getting real.” She said excitedly.

Aaron nodded at the news and like nature, he picked up his phone and texted Deloise, informing her of the latest development, not forgetting to highlight the fact that she shouldn’t be late.

Stella droned on, talking about everything and anything while the boys supported, adding comments here and there.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Deloise was in her room, playing on her phone when the message popped in. She couldn’t help a natural smile that broke out upon seeing its content and immediately fired back an even craftier message, indicating her happiness to be actually informed and her expectancy of an apology for the last time.

Aaron was surprised to see she sent a reply but before he could open it, a call came in, cutting him off and removing every trace of smile from his countenance.

He picked up the call after excusing himself and before he could utter a greeting, he heard words that took breath out of his lungs.

” Grandma collapsed.”
