Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1030

Jenna, Adler, Colby, and Sophie had just walked into the banquet hall and already had everyone's eyes on them. People were coming up to greet them left and right. Off to the side, Sandy, clearly annoyed, tugged on Angelo's sleeve and grumbled, "Bro! These Devonport folks are so clueless! Does no one know who we are?"Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

After all, she was the Pollard family heiress! Overseas, people were always clamoring for her attention. But here in Devonport, she was just background noise.

"Relax. Remember, Sophie was just a wallflower during her last overseas visit too! It's all about who's got the pull around here," Angelo said, trying to calm her down. Sandy pouted, "Yeah, but I'm the Pollard family heiress. I deserve some respect, right? Bro, when you open a branch here in Devonport, it has to outshine S Corporation!" Angelo couldn't help but chuckle. The heiress sure had big dreams.

Outshine S Corporation? With the backing of four major families, each one a powerhouse, it would be like trying to move the entire Pollard family business here!

"I'll do my best... my best..." Angelo said, his gaze drifting towards Elodie, who was making her way over to Sophie.

Elodie's smile was gentle, but there was something about it that felt just a bit intimidating.

"So, you must be Colby? I've heard so much about you. Finally nice to meet you," Elodie said, extending her hand. Colby barely glanced at it and coolly said, "I don't shake hands."

Elodie didn't seem fazed and turned to Sophie, saying, "Ms. Sophie, you wouldn't snub me, would you?"

Sophie shook her hand and replied, "Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Elodie."

"Ms. Sophie, there are plenty of guests waiting for you. Let's not waste time on those who don't matter," Bea chimed in, her tone dripping with disdain for Sophie's group.

Elodie smiled at Sophie and said, "Ms. Sophie, Colby, enjoy your evening. There's quite a show coming up."

As Elodie walked over to Bea, Adler muttered in annoyance, "What was that look about? She acted like she's already won."

Jenna added, "What's so great about

teaming up with the Burke family? Without James, Burke International is like a headless chicken, just a mess. Does she really think she can get James to help her?"

James's online reputation had taken a nosedive lately, and Burke International had publicly disavowed him, denying any connection with him as their CEO.

Even if James came back, what difference would it make? All his shares were with Sophie now.

Sophie furrowed her brow, feeling uneasy. This partnership dinner seemed almost too smooth.

"Sophie, what's up?" Jenna asked, noticing Sophie's distraction.

Sophie snapped back to reality and said, “Doesn't this feel... too easy?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, making Reeves International lose money was almost too effortless."

Could Elodie be unaware of the consequences of exploiting her employees like this? Or had she anticipated it all along? Or maybe, Elodie just didn't care about the hefty penalties?

Jenna tried to reassure her, "Don't overthink it Elodie's just a spoiled heiress; she wouldn't understand the struggles of working people. Reeves Entertainment's collapse is inevitable. We've planned for this, haven't we?”
