Chapter 17
Nelly’s POV
His sharp claws sank deep into my skin, but | bit down on my lip, refusing to cry out. Alpha Kex’s expression was unreadable his eyes dark and cold, his jaw clenched tight.
He dragged me across the grass, my feet barely touching the ground, and | felt myself growing dizzy. | was in shock. Everything was happening so fast.
In a daze, | saw him pull open the door of a sleek black car, and he roughly shoved me inside. | landed on the floor of the car, my head spinning. | looked up at him, my heart racing, as he slammed the door.
“Please, I’m sorry,” | said, my voice breaking. But he didn’t say a word. He just stared straight ahead, his eyes fixed on the road. The car sped along, the trees and houses blurring past the window. | could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my whole body shaking.
| wanted to scream, to cry out, to beg him to stop. But | was frozen in fear. | could only sit there, my entire body trembling, as we drove on in silence.
The car came to a stop, and we were in front of a lonely house in the middle of nowhere. “Get out,” he said, his voice cold and harsh.
| obeyed, my legs trembling as | climbed out of the car. | followed him to the door of the house, my heart beating wildly in my chest. | had no idea what was happening, or what he had planned.
| just knew | was terrified. He opened the door, and | stepped inside. The house was dark, the air stale and cold. | could feel goosebumps rising on my skin.
As the light flickered on, | let out a bloodcurdling scream. In front of me was a wall of severed heads, both wolf and human, staring at me with empty eyes. My heart was in
my
throat, and | couldn't breathe.
“What is this?” | managed to croak out, my voice barely a whisper. But he didn’t answer. He just stood there, watching me with an unreadable expression.
| began to shake, my whole body trembling as | realized what he might be planning to do. Was he going to kill me?
| watched him disappear up the stairs, my entire body trembling. When he came back.

down, he was holding a pair of handcuffs. | felt my heart drop to my stomach. | began to feel lightheaded, like | might faint.
My vision started to blur, and | struggled to keep my feet under me. He walked towards me, his eyes hard and cold. | wanted to run, but | knew it was useless. | was trapped, and there was nowhere to go. He took my arm, his grip like iron, he spread my two hands and snapped the handcuffs on.
With a vicious growl, he pulled out a belt, and | felt my heart stop. | let out a terrified howl as he raised his arm.
“How dare you cut Emily,” he said, his voice full of fury. The belt came down, and | felt searing pain across my back. | let out a scream.
“| didn’t cut her,” | sobbed, my whole body trembling.
But my words fell on deaf ears. Another blow came, and | fell to my knees. | squeezed my eyes shut, willing it to be over. But it didn’t stop. It just kept going on.
“Please, Alpha Kex,” | begged, my voice h 0 a rse from crying. “Please stop.”
Yet he didn’t listen. The belt kept coming down, over and over again, each blow harder than the last. | felt my vision start to fade, my whole body going numb. | crumpled to the floor, the handcuffs yanking me back up.
| was trapped, unable to escape the pain. | began to scream, my voice raw and ragged.. But it was no use. He just kept hitting me, and | could feel myself slipping away.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he reached 50, and the blows stopped. He removed the handcuffs, and | felt my body slump to the floor. My whole body was in agony, and | could barely think straight. | lay there, curled up in a ball, trying to make sense of what had just happened.
“If you ever think of touching Emily again,” he said, his voice full of rage, “I will make it a hundred.”
He turned and left the room, leaving me alone in the dark. | was in too much pain to move. | just lay there, sobbing./
| had always heard stories about how ruthless Alpha Kex was, but I had never imagined that | would experience his wrath firsthand. He had always been an intimidating presence, but | had never seen him so enraged. | had never known him to be capable of such violence.
There was a sudden crash, and the door flew open. | tensed, expecting to see Alpha Kex.

But instead, it was an unknown man. | struggled to sit up, my muscles screaming in protest.
“I'm here to take you home,” the man said, his voice calm and even.
| didn’t know who he was, or if | should trust him. But | knew | had no choice but to go with him. My body felt heavy and sluggish, and | knew | wouldn't be able to fight him. So | let him lead me out of the room, my head spinning.
| got into the car, and the entire ride was silent. The man didn’t speak, and | didn’t know what to say. | just sat there, my mind spinning. After a while, the man spoke.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
“You are lucky Alpha Kex didn’t kill you,” he said, his voice flat and emotionless. “He usually doesn’t tolerate anyone making Emily bleed.”
| rolled my eyes. Was this supposed to make me feel grateful? It sounded more like a threat. But | would rather not provoke him, so | kept my mouth shut.
The car stopped in front of the house, and the man opened the door for me. | hesitated, wondering if | could make it inside on my own. But when | took a step, my legs gave out from under me.
“Are you sure you don’t need help?” the man asked, his voice full of concern.
| tried to steady myself, but my legs were shaking too much. “Yes, I’m fine,” | lied. “| can manage.” Yet as soon as the words left my mouth, | realized | was wrong. | did need help. | just didn’t want to admit it.
| dragged my feet up the stairs, each step a struggle. | felt like | was moving in slow motion, my limbs heavy and uncooperative. | passed the other rooms without seeing anyone, and | was grateful for that.
| reached my room and stumbled inside, collapsing onto the bed and pulling the blankets over me. As soon as | was covered, the tears started to fall. | felt overwhelmed, and my emotions were too much to handle. | sobbed into the pillow, unable to hold back the flood of tears.
