Chapter 24
Newa’s POV
I walked back to the pack house, the events of the day swirled in my mind like leaves caught in a gust of wind
Elara had dropped me off at the gate, offering a quick, encouraging smile before driving off to attend to some urgent business.
I watched her car disappear down the road, feeling a pang of loneliness as I turned and began the familiar walk to the house.
The path was quiet, lined with tall trees whose branches created a canopy overhead, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

walk brought me a sense of peace, a moment of solitude to collect my thoughts. But today, my mind was a tumultuous sea of
My first day at college had been a whirlwind, Elara had been by my side every step of the way, her enthusiasm and support a constant source of comfor
She had navigated the maze of hallways with ease, introducing me to p
professors and showing me the various classrooms. Despite my nerves, her presence had given me the courage to face each new challenge.
But then there was the incident in class. The memory of that girl standing up and making a joke at my expense was like a thorn in my side, sharp and painful
Her cruel words about my skinny frame echoed in my mind, amplifying my insecurities. Even as the professor scolded her, she had continued her launes, clearly someone of importance given the silence that fell over the other students.
I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms as I tried to shake off the humiliation. It wasn’t just the words that hurt; it was the stripped away my confidence in front of everyone
she had
I had felt so exposed, so vulnerable. The professor’s reprimand had done little to alleviate the sting of her cruelty. I already felt insecure about my body from the beginning
At lunch, I had met Elara in the cafeteria, and she had given me a tour of the entire college, her excitement bubbling over as she showed me every nook and cranny.
It had been a welcome distraction, but the encounter in class still lingered at the back of my mind. When we sat down to
to eat. I kept my head down, trying to focus on my food.
Then, a boy joined us and started talking about the incident, not realising I was the one he was referring to. Hearing the story from his perspective, knowing that everyone was talking about me, only deepened my sense of shame.
Elara had noticed my discomfort immediately, and her face had turned a deep shade of red with anger. She stood up abruptly, her hands balled into fists, and declared she would be right back.
I knew she was going to confrom Lila, and though a part of me wanted to stop her, another part felt grateful for her fierce loyalty. She was all I needed. I wish I could be her.
The memory of Elara’s protective rage brought a small smile to my lips. She was truly a force of nature, and I was lucky to have her on my
side.
As I approached the pack house, I took a deep breath, trying to let go of the day’s negativity. The large, welcoming structure loomed ahead, its familiar shape a comforting sight
Entering the pack house, I was greeted by the warm scent of home–wood, herbs, and the faint aroma of baking bread from the kitchen.
The pack members I passed offered friendly nods and smiles, their presence a reminder that I was part of something larger than myself. Despite the challenges of the day, I knew I had a place here, a family that cared for me
I made my way to my room, I felt a renewed sense of determination. The road ahead might be difficult, filled with obstacles and moments of doubt, but I wasn’t alone.
With friends like Elara and the support of the pack, I knew I could face whatever came my way. Today was just the beginning, and I was ready to prove to myself and everyone else that I belonged
As I walked through the hallways of the pack house, lost in my thoughts. I nearly collided with Alpha Luca. His imposing figure seemed to appear out of nowhere, and I stumbled back slightly, startled
“Whoa there,” Luca said steadying me with a firm hand on my shoulder. His piercing eyes studied me intendly, a concerned frown forming on his face. “You okay, Nesta? You seem… off
I forced a smile, trying to brush off his concern. I’m fine, really. Just a lot on my mind after my first day at college:
Luca’s frown deepened, clearly not convinced. “Why don’t we step into my study and talk about it? Sometimes it helps to get things off your chest.”
Reluctantly, I nodded, knowing that he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He led me down the hall to his study, a room filled with bookshelves lined with ancient tomes and a large wooden desk cluttered with papers.
The room exuded an air of wisdom and authority, much like Luca himself. He looks so much younger in plain clothes than when I first met him looking all businesslike and stuff.
He closed the door behind us and motioned for me to sit in one of the plush chairs facing his desk. I sank into the chair, feeling the tension in my shoulders as Luca took a seat across from me,
“So, what’s going on?” he asked, leaning forward with his elbows on the desk, giving me his full attention
I hesitated, unsure where to begin. The events of the day felt jumbled in my mind, a chaotic mess of emotions and insecurities.
“It’s it’s been a rough day I finally admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
Luca nodded encouragingly. Tell me about it. Sometimes just talking it out can make a world of difference”
Taking a deep breath, I recounted my day–how Elara had been so supportive, the initial excitement of starting college, and then the cruel encounter with the girl in class.
As I spoke, the words started to flow more freely, the burden of the day slowly lifting from my shoulders. At first I didn’t want to share but who better should know about this than the alpha of the pack himself?
“And then, during lunch, this boy came over and started talking about what happened in class, not realising I w was the one he was talking about.” I said.
my voice tracking slightly. “It was humiliating, and everyone’s been talking about me ever since.”
Luca listened intently, his expression a mix of empathy and concern. I’m sorry your
when you’re new and different. But don’t let one penon’s cruelty define your exp through that. Nesa College can be tough, especially
I nodded, wiping away a tear that had escaped down my cheek. “It’s just hard, you know? Trying to fit in, trying to learn so much in such a short time. It feel overwhelming
Luca leaned back in his chair, his gaze never leaving mine. “I understand But remember, you’re not alone in this. You have Elara, and you have the pack. We’re all here to support you.”
His words were comforting, a reminder that had a strong support system behind me “Thank you, Luca. It means a lot to hear that.”
He smiled, a rare but genuine expression. “Anytime, Nesta. And remember, if you ever need to talk or need help with anything, my door is always open. You’re part of this pack, and we take care of our own.”NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
I felt a sense of warmth and belonging wash over me, easing the ache in my chest. “I appreciate that, Luca. Really, I do.”
Luca stood, signalling the end of our conversation. “Take it easy tonigla. Rest, and don’t let today’s events weigh you down. Tomorrow’s a new day, and I have no doubt you’ll handle whatever comes your way”
I stood as well, feeling lighter than I had in hours. “Thanks again, Lac
He nodded, giving my shoulder a reassuring squeeze as I turned to leave. As I walked out of his study and back into the hallway. I felt a renewed sense of determination.
No matter how tough the road ahead might be, I knew I had the strength to navigate it, and the support of my pack to back me up.
Lib is nothing.
