Chapter 5 uhim
As Navier lost himself in thought, a pair of warm hands gently wrapped around his. He turned to see Yvette looking at i
with concern.
"Xavier, is your stomach bothering you? Do you want some soup?" she asked softly.
Xavier shook his head.
Yasmine greeted Matthew and pulled out a chair to sit down, ignoring the exchange between Xavier and Yvette, while Matthew let out a sarcastic snort.
The Flynn family had a rule: no talking during meals. Yasmine wasn't really in the mood to eat, so she just picked at her food to keep Matthew company.
Once they finished eating. Matthew pulled Yasmine aside and said, "I've heard what happened between you and Xavier. Don't worry. Yasmine, you're the only granddaughter-in-law I recognize."
He shot a cold glance at the stiff-faced Yvette and Xavier, throwing a subtle jab. "Even if someone leaves the Flynn family, it should only be the homewrecker and the jerk!"
Yasmine went silent, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Xavier frowned, his expression darkening. Yvette held his hand, tears welling up in her eyes, looking vulnerable.

Matthew wasn't bothered by the two's little drama. He sighed, slapping his hand on the coffee table. Your father and I good friends. I was thrilled when you married into our family, Yasmine. If you leave now, how am I supposed to explain that to your dad?" Xavier rubbed his temples in frustration. 'Grandpa Matthew, I'll do my best to make things right for Yasmine. You can't just force me to..
Matthew seethed with anger. Force you? Are you blind? Look at the kind of woman you're interested in!"
"Grandpa.... Xavier tried to defend Yvette.
As Matthew and Xavier looked about to argue, Yasmine interrupted softly, "Grandpa Matthew, it's not him wanting the divorce, it's my choice." The living room fell into an eerie silence.
Yasmine poured Matthew a glass of water to help him calm down, then said slowly, "Don't worry about me. I'm not going to live with regrets. Everything I've done is from my heart. As for the divorce, I just don't have feelings for Mr. Xavier Flynn anymore.
Her expression was calm, as if she had finally been set free, exuding a rare sense of peace.
Xavier watched her beautiful profile under the soft light, and suddenly, his expression darkened.
Matthew sat in silence for what felt like an eternity before finally murmuring. I'm sorry, Yasmine. It's all our fault."
Yasmine paused, then smiled but didn't respond. Once Matthew seemed calmer, she decided to excuse herself.
As it got late, Matthew agreed. Watching Yasmine walk away, he muttered to himself, "Better to leave than be stuck with that
idiot."
Matthew let out a sigh and headed straight to his study, not wanting to waste any more time on Xavier.
Xavier's expression grew even darker.

"Xavier, why don't you go up and comfort Matthew? He's always liked Ms. Sanchez, and he must be really upset right now," Yvette said gently, her tone filled with understanding.
Xavier took her hand and said, "Let me drop you off at home first."
After taking Yvette home, Xavier wentto the study and found Matthew sulking while brewing coffee.
He sat down next to Matthew, helped him with the coffee, and poured him a cup. "Grandpa, Yvette will be my future wife. Even if you don't like her, you should still treat her with respect, Xavier said helplessly. Matthew scoffed. "When Yasmine married into the family. I told you the same thing. But what have you done?"
