He suppressed his discontent and speculated about Elisa’s intentions. Does she really want to divorce him? Or was she using retreat as an advance? All of these were the questions clouding his mind.

“Do you really want to divorce me? or perhaps you’re expecting the alimony?” Robert inquired coldly.

“I know you want it too, Robert and this isn’t about the alimony” Elisa replied helplessly.

“Elisa, you’re very clever and know how to do the opposite. If you want to divorce me, then show me the person who really wants a divorce!”

She said it so clearly, isn’t that attitude? Was it lacking? Elisa felt a little stressed. She groaned a little. ‘Oh God, why is it always difficult to connect with people?‘ Elisa screamed in her mind.

Robert took out his phone and opened the consumption record, he then extended his hand to Elisa who took the phone and carefully flipped through the pages until she winced. Elisa saw the accumulated money his grandfather spent on her were all here.

After a careful and thorough calculation, the total number of millions overwhelmed her. Elisa’s jaw drop, does he want her to return everything back to him? If that was the case, she’d have to work her a*s off before she could ever make this amount..

Looking at Robert again, she didn’t know how to explain. After all, she didn’t tell him she had no interest in his money. Regardless, everything was bought for her.

He thought after Elisa spent his money wisely, she would dare to turn her back on him and file for a divorce. He knew she was after his money when she doesn’t give a damn about it after all.

Robert saw her soft, rosy lips tremble a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. The air lingered on her thin eyelashes, but Elisa didn’t say a word. Robert couldn’t help but wonder if he had misunderstood her intentions, Impossible! He immediately dismissed the thoughts clouding in his mind.

However, he stood firmly, trusting his instincts. After all, Elisabeth was a film and opera student. There’s no doubt she was born with a talent for acting.

“Wait a moment.” Elisabeth finally gathered the courage to speak again..

She went out of his room, then came back with a bunch of bags in her hands later on. She opened them one by one and placed them in front of him.

Robert saw a pile of gold bars, his eyebrows shot up and slightly furrowed.

“The things I bought today are all here, I don’t know if these things can be returned or not, and they might deduct a little for considering them used. But if there’s a discount, I’m willing to bear the loss you have! And you can send someone to return the goods or I can return them myself.” She continued to speak.

“This is the card that Mrs. Fisher gave me a total of 600,000 dollars, and 500,000 dollars were used for my mother’s surgery in the beginning. Keep in mind I have 100,000 dollars as my pocket money. I spent a little and paid off the hospital bills, so I spent about 17,000 dollars, and besides, we can make a receipt where I promise to reimburse all the expenses that the Fisher family has for my mother’s surgery.” Elisa suddenly affirmed. Her eyes glistened because of the tense.

Robert looked at her anxiously. Returning these things back, a strange feeling arose in his heart. Even

for money, but why the hell was she doing this?

“How about we go to the Civil Affairs Department to complete the divorce procedures after eating, does that sound good, Robert?” Elisabeth’s voice asserted in a serious tone. In just a few seconds, Robert felt as if his heart was torn into pieces, be should be elated about this news right? So what the hell was wrong with him?

“Since you intend to divorce me, you shouldn’t worry about pleasing my family. My grandfather is too old to be stimulated with such hope, and he even recognized you as his granddaughter. Do you think this marriage is something you can leave if you want?” Robert made a pause. His claims made Elisabeth took in a deep breath. She realized Robert had a point. “I think this matter started because of you, and it’s your responsibility to resolve it properly.” His voice came again which made Elisabeth bite her inside cheek, her hands turned into a fist.

His grandfather was the only one who treated her so well, she knew how hurt he’ll be once he finds out that she was the one who brought up the idea of divorce this time

“Fine! I’m willing to take responsibility. What do you suggest to resolve this matter properly?” Elisa’s eyebrows arched.

A shallow smirk crept on his face. Robert nibbled his lower lip. “It’s simple, you just need to make my family hate you and they won’t stop us from getting divorced.”

“And how can I do that? Can you be more specific?” Elisa’s curiosity peaked.

“What my grandfather hates the most is a gold digger and an ill mannered lady, If you take him to the streets a few times and buy things without restrictions and also disrespecting him, he will naturally hate you, be e that sought of person Elisa, then this bondage called a marriage shall end for good”

Elisa nibbled her lower lip. She was in awe, but later on, she nodded her head in affirmation “Okay…”

Elisa was one step out from his room when Robert stopped her from leaving. “After we successfully divorce, all expenses for your mother’s surgery will be paid by my family. Rest assured all these things will be yours, it’s a promise!” Robert assured her but Elisa’s intention wasn’t because of the money.

“Thanks but I don’t want something that was given out of pity, after all I’m not after your money.” She affirmed with her regal tone.she took a swift swerve and left the room to him.

Robert looked at her resolute back and felt a little strange in his heart. He didn’t want to question his own judgment, but he felt that he was wrong about her. He judged Elisa quickly and treated her poorly.

Using her method, it didn’t take long for her to discover that he really wanted to divorce her.

Elisabeth returned to her room and sat by the bed for a long time before cooling down. She was a little hurt yet she knew that her husband was right. She was an adult and responsible for her actions. No one held a knife to her neck and forced/her to marry him, so she should take care of the divorce herself without dragging Robert.

Furthermore, her mother’s surgery was already scheduled. She had nothing else to ask for. Elisa felt a lot of shame towards Robert’s grandfather. Robert doesn’t deserve what happened to him. He got set up with Elisa who aims to get her mom a surgery but Elisa knew that he deserves to marry a woman who came from a prominent family not/someone like her who grew up in the slums.

Elisa took a deep breath and stopped thinking about these things. She turned on her computer and started working because making money by herself was her primary goal.

After recording for so long, her phone rang, indicating that she had received a message. The name of her client appeared on Elisa’s screen so she immediately picked it up.

[Wooden Wind: Miss, if I pay you for a whole month, can you send all the files at once?]

This message left Elisa slightly nervous.. The client wanted to pay the full amount at once but also to receive everything at once. She was afraid she couldn’t do him any favors.

Elisa immediately typed a message. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

[Lisa…Samera: This volume is a bit large, so I might need some time. Do you have any requirements for the content of the recording? I can record according to your request.]

Elisabeth felt that the money was too easy to earn and the other party was so easy to talk to that her conscience was restless.

[Wooden Wind: If necessary, the content of the recording should be replaced with news content, such as current affairs and finance, as long as the content is not repeated.]

Elisabeth became even more confused when she heard this request. It wasn’t complicated, but rather too simple. Why wouldn’t she need to think about the content and just read the news instead?

[Lisa…Samera: When is the delivery time of your request?]

[Wooden Wind: To ensure quality, I need five days. I still have some on my computer. Should I send it to you?]

[Lisa…Samera: Alright, send everything you have!]

Elisabeth immediately found the documents and files. She skimmed the files and bobbed her head a little due to satisfaction. Fortunately, after a few minutes, Elisa’s eyes widened as she received a notification. saying the other party transferred the money already.
