PREGNANT BUT REJECTED AS A BILLIONAIRE WIFE

PHB 24

I don’t know if it’s just Deasy’s feeling or if it’s actually the fact that day by day feels like it’s dragging on for so long. Well, what does it mean, anyway? Anyway, Deasy feels like the days are passing by very slowly.

If she could ask God for a favor, she would want her pregnancy to instantly be nine months old. Can you imagine that?

It does sound impossible, though. But, to be honest, she feels overwhelmed. It’s not about taking care of the little baby inside her belly. It’s more about worry and embarrassment, especially as her belly gets bigger, it’s bound to attract attention from people around.

But, because she’s aware that she’s covered in sin, it feels undeserving to ask for anything from God. As Veronica says,

“Be grateful! Who asked you to keep getting drunk and not taking care of yourself? Sleeping with just anyone. Twice, even. Now you’re pregnant, suddenly you’re all worked up and dizzy.”

As a friend, Veronica falls into the category of Luck-nut friends. Instead of helping find a solution or a way out, Darwin Walters’s wife seems to be happy about the trials that Deasy is currently facing.

Not to mention the presence of Lucas Orion, who often deliberately disturbs Deasy’s peace. Making her think she just wants to disappear from the face of the earth.

“Good morning, Miss Deasy.”

What did Deasy say? Just as discussed, the nerdy guy with glasses finally arrives. Like yesterday, Lucas brings a paper bag containing special food and then gives it to Deasy.

As the man said before. As long as there’s a potential child in Deasy’s belly, whatever it is, whether it’s protection, attention, and all sorts of things Deasy needs, Lucas will make an effort to provide.

“Let’s have breakfast first. Today, I brought the famous crispy chicken fried rice for you.”

Deasy silently observed as Lucas took out a bento box filled with food. He then placed it neatly on Deasy’s work desk, complete with a drink and various snacks. Quite attentive, but Deasy still didn’t like it!

“I’m not hungry. Besides, why do you bring me breakfast every day?” Deasy said.

Lucas just smiled, used to hearing Deasy complain like this.

“So that my child in the mother’s belly won’t go hungry,” Lucas casually whispered. “Besides, I only have five more days to prepare breakfast for Miss Deasy. After I’ve truly resigned-”

“After you resign, you won’t bother me anymore, right? You won’t bring me breakfast every morning?” Deasy interrupted. She had just remembered that her subordinate would be leaving soon. Feeling a breath of fresh air and a glimmer of hope that she wouldn’t be disturbed anymore, Deasy wanted to confirm this directly with him.

“Not necessarily,” Lucas replied casually. A mischievous grin was clearly visible on his bespectacled face. “Even though I’ve resigned, it doesn’t rule out the possibility that I can still deliver breakfast to Miss Deasy.”

“How?”

“Well… I can either deliver it directly to your apartment before you leave. Or I can send food using a food delivery service. Anyway, for our beloved future child, I have many ways to ensure the mother gets proper nutrition and food.”

Deasy’s shoulders slumped. She had been happy to hear that Lucas would be resigning soon, which meant she wouldn’t be bothered anymore. However, after hearing Lucas’s explanation, her earlier hopes were quickly dashed.

“You’re really annoying, you know! Besides, who gave you permission to come and go to my apartment as you please?”

“No one, really,” Lucas replied nonchalantly. “But, even if Miss Deasy forbids it, I will still come to make sure you’re doing well.”

Deasy took a deep breath, trying to patiently deal with the truly irritating Lucas.

“Just so you know, I can report your actions to the authorities, Luc. Furthermore, what you’ve been doing has disrupted my peace for a while now.”

Lucas laughed. Deasy didn’t know what was funny about her statement. In fact, if you thought about it, he had just received a threat.

“Report where, Miss? To the police station? Well, it’s fine if Miss Deasy wants to report me. Then, when questioned by the authorities, I’ll just explain that my actions are an expression of concern because we previously slept together, which resulted in Miss Deasy becoming pregnant and-”

“Stop!”

Deasy rose from her seat. She raised her right hand and covered Lucas’s mouth to stop him from talking.

“When you speak, you have no regard for the location, do you? Amazing! I’ve already warned you not to discuss such matters in the office.”

“So, where should we discuss it? Miss Deasy’s apartment, perhaps? We haven’t really resolved this issue. Or should Miss Deasy just resign herself to marrying me in the near future?”

Deasy struggled to contain herself from exploding. Today, she just didn’t want to waste her energy getting angry.

But, please, God.

Please, just take Lucas far away or make him disappear so that I can have a peaceful life.

Deasy continued to silently pray, taking repeated deep breaths to keep her emotions in check.

“Okay… tonight, we’ll discuss everything until it’s settled.”

“At your apartment, right? Or do you want to meet at my place?”

Deasy gave him a sharp look. It seemed that she was the one being asked to come over.

“You’re the one coming to see me. And please make sure to come on time. You know I don’t like people who are not on time.”

“Don’t worry. If you want, I’ll be there by seven.”

“It’s not exactly like that, Lucas.”

Lucas laughed, shifting to sit in his office chair. He opened the breakfast box he had bought and prepared to eat.

“Well, let’s eat breakfast first. If it gets too cold, it won’t taste good later, Miss.”

Deasy shrugged her shoulders. She still resisted, refusing the breakfast that Lucas had bought for her.

“No! I already said I don’t want breakfast. How many times do I have to say that I don’t like breakfast?”

“Are you sure?” Lucas asked, staring intently. He smiled, then slowly scooped up a spoonful of the Fried rice in front of him. “This is delicious. Seriously.”

He then continued to enjoy the meal he had bought, intentionally tempting Deasy with his expressions. He savored the food with enthusiasm, making appreciative sounds so that Deasy continued to watch him.

“Hmmm… this is seriously so delicious, I swear. The rice is so tender, and the chicken is so soft.”

Lucas kept spooning up the Fried rice, bite by bite, into his mouth. This continued to capture Deasy’s attention, and it even made her swallow her saliva.

“Are you sure you don’t want to try?” Lucas asked again.

“No! I said no, and that means no.”NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

“Alright then. You’ll be the one missing out because you don’t want to try this incredibly delicious food.”

Lucas continued to enjoy the food on his spoon. Meanwhile, Deasy seemed to be fighting her temptation. She carefully observed the expressions Lucas was making, which made her feel hungry as well. But… it would be embarrassing to accept with pleasure what her subordinate had brought for her.

“Lucas…”

From the door, Doni appeared, calling Lucas and asking him to come over.

“Is your breakfast finished? Mrs. Amel called. She wants you to sign the resignation letter.”

Lucas nodded. He finished his drink, then got up and went to the HRD room to complete the resignation process that he had submitted some time ago.

Meanwhile, Deasy, after making sure there was no one else in the room, slowly opened the box of food that Lucas had bought.

As soon as it opened, the distinctive aroma of Nasi Kebuli wafted out, greeting her sense of smell. Whether it was just her imagination or not, the scent of the food was so enticing and mouthwatering.

Not wanting Lucas to find out that she was enjoying breakfast, Deasy hurriedly spooned the nasi kebuli from the bento box into her mouth. She devoured it quickly while savoring the delicious taste.

“Oh my, it really is delicious,” Deasy continued to chew while nodding her head. Meanwhile, in another corner, Lucas was peeking and deliberately waiting for Deasy to finish the food in her box.

“How is it? Delicious, isn’t it?”

Lucas’s comment momentarily froze Deasy. She wanted to stop, but there was only one more bite of rice left in her box.

“Why stop? Just finish it. Don’t be shy. I won’t protest, in fact, I’m happy that the food I bought is finally being finished.”

Deasy felt extremely embarrassed. However, since she had already gone this far, what could she do? Rather than wasting it, she finished the last bite of rice while grumbling in her heart.
