Chapter 196 Don't Come back after You Leave
Chapter 196 Don't Come back after You Leave
There were many people coming and going in the street. It seemed that everyone was smiling with joy
and happiness. They walked side-by-side in twos and threes. Some of them put their arms around their
friends' shoulders once in in a while, talking and laughing. Some of them looked sweet and shy with
their arms around their lovers' waist. Some of them shared interesting stories in small groups. Adelaide
was alone and therefore looked lonelier when compared with these people.
Adelaide sniffed and had a lump in her throat as if she were going to cry. She managed to stop herself
from weeping, stumbling aimlessly along the way.
She knew neither where to go nor where she could go. Different from the last quarrel, she felt a little
desperate after quarreling with Hanna this time. She had a strong feeling that she would lost the
friendship with Hanna and she could never become reconciled with her.
"Beep!"
"Are you fucking blind?"
Fortunately, the driver stopped the car successfully when the car nearly knocked Adelaide down, but he
was so angry that he put his head out of the window to scold Adelaide.
Hearing this, Adelaide gathered her wits. After she looked up and saw the red light on the opposite
side, she retreated to the zebra crossing in a daze without saying a word.
Seeing the leading car stop when they were allowed to go, drivers all sounded their horns. Soon, there
was a deafening sound of horn. The driver dared not stop here anymore and started the car after
spitting out of the window. Before leaving, he was still cursing, "Why not jump off a building if you want
to kill yourself? Fuck!"
Adelaide continued to walk slowly. However, she didn't learn from this lesson. She crossed several
roads and different drivers reacted in the same way as the former driver, but she didn't care.
By the river, she took off her shoes and rolled up her trousers, after which she put her feet into the river
and felt the wind and water. However, she could not calm herself down.
She was worried that the media would use the news as a weapon and exaggerate the details, causing
irreparable damage to Hanna's reputation. What's worse, Hanna's boyfriend was really not reliable at
all.
It never rains but it pours. Adelaide's mind wandered.
"Atishoo!"
Adelaide was no longer lost in thought after she sneezed. Then, she took a packet of tissue out of her
pocket and wiped her nose. It was getting dark and it was cool, even cold here. Therefore, she
buttoned her collar round her neck. With short sleeves, she had goose bumps on her arms because of
coldness. To make herself feel better, she kept rubbing her arms.
When she felt less cold, she stood up and patted her ass. Remembering the bar that Richard took her
and Hanna to, she decided to go to find Richard first and persuade him to break up with Hanna.
She took a taxi to the bar street. When she was about to pay, she remembered that she didn't take
money with her when she went out. Immediately, she blushed. Knowing customers like her well, the
driver quickly locked the door and said with a dark face before Adelaide could say anything, "You have
no money with you, right? You can't get off before you pay me. You can ask your family to send money
here."
Adelaide bit her lower lip hard. Since she married Antonio, she was seldom worried about money.
Gradually, she had forgotten that she should take her wallet and keys with her when she went out.
Damla would prepare all these things for her. Today, she left home in a hurry and parked her car in the
hospital. After quarreling with Hanna, she left the hospital sadly, totally forgetting that she could drive
her car.
She clenched the mobile phone in her hand and finally chose to make a phone call to Aadam.
Aadam was surprised that she called him. After seeing the caller ID, he looked in the mirror and
cleared his throat before he answered the phone.
"Hey, Aadam, this is Adelaide. Well...We had dinner together last time and I paid the bill. Didn't your
fiancee say that we should go Dutch? You...Can you transfer 100 to me now?"
"One hundred thousand dollar?" Aadam asked subconsciously because he was a big spender who had
never bought anything that was worth less than 10000 dollar.
Adelaide blushed and answered in a voice as low as a mosquito, "No, just 100 dollar."
"A hundred dollar?"
Adelaide could tell that he was in shock.
She confirmed with a sound "hmm". A long time had passed, but Adelaide didn't hear Aadam answer
her. Obviously, Aadam was shocked by what she said.
Adelaide felt as if a whole century had passed. When she was so embarrassed that she was going to
hang up the phone, Aadam agreed and asked, "Where are you? What do you want a hundred dollars
for? What about Antonio? Isn't he with you?" He asked a few questions in one time.
Adelaide didn't know what to say. The driver was still staring at her, so her face turned even redder.
She covered the mouthpiece with her hand and continued to whisper as if she didn't t want to be heard,
"I'm at the bar street on Shelley Road. Let's talk later. I'll hang up now."
After saying that, she hung up the phone in a hurry.
Then, she opened the Easypay and saw a transfer record that was two minutes ago. She was moved.
Then, she transferred 38 dollar to the driver.
The driver changed his attitude after he got the money. He not only opened the door with a smile, but
also reminded her to be careful when she was in the bar street.
Adelaide nodded without saying anything, got off the car and walked away. It was in the afternoon and
there was nearly no one in the bar street. Adelaide took out her cell phone and took a look at the time,
finding that the bar should be opened soon. She wanted to take this opportunity to find Richard by
waiting here.
Therefore, she went to the door of that bar, sat down on the ground and leaned against a column. As Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
time went by, she became sleepy and took another look at time. Why did the clock go so slowly? She
stretched herself and stood up by holding the column. Her arms and legs were a little numb, so she
kicked her legs and patted her waist with her fist.
Just at this moment, a waiter came. After giving Adelaide a puzzled glance, he went to open the door in
a leisurely manner. Suddenly, she wanted to go to bathroom. She gritted her teeth, put on a polite smile
and rushed in after the waiter opened the door.
After using the toilet, she felt better. When she got out of the bathroom, there were dim lights and a
deafening noise in the bar. Then she walked to the hall, finding that there had been a few people there.
She hurriedly searched for Richard, but failed. Unwilling to give up, she searched private boxes one
after another. However, she still didn't find Richard.
Adelaide was frustrated and wanted to leave. Suddenly, a tall strong man blocked her way. She raised
her head. That man grinned and looked difficult to deal with, "What are you looking for?"
As he spoke, he deliberately exposed his strong pectoral muscles and tattoo on his arms for a long
time.
She was in a bad mood, so she was unable to force herself to smile, but darkened her face. She
seemed to believe that this man did not dare to hit her, so she stepped to one side with her mouth
pursed. Then that man stretched out his hand even more impatiently to block her way, "You look so
furtive. Are you a spy sent by the bar opposite?"
"No!" She exclaimed.
