Chapter 337: Good stuff
Mariana looked out the window, the sun had unknowingly climbed higher and everything was golden.
She got out of bed and set about preparing a simple lunch for an informal occasion. After all, it was the
weekend and there wasn't much in the office he had to attend to.
When she opened the fridge, there wasn't much food left in the house, not even rice.
Mariana smiled internally, there seemed to be too much going on lately, so much that she no longer
had the means to take care of her own life.
After nonchalantly eating a few slices of bread, Mariana made a list of household items and food in the
house to go shopping at the supermarket in the afternoon.
There were too many things and she was a little worried that she wouldn't be able to take them back,
so she sent a message to Ana, wanting her to accompany her.
-I'm sorry Mari, I have something to attend to this afternoon and I won't be able to accompany you,"
Ana sent an audio with regret.
She had no choice but to go on her own with a sigh.
At the supermarket, Mariana pushed her shopping cart, going through the different shelves of products
by herself, and choosing what she needed.
The good thing was that now she no longer had to think too much about the price and simply choose
what suited her best, which saved her a lot of time.
However, she dressed casually to go to the supermarket to buy a large number of items and still came
under attack.
A thin, middle-aged man stared at Mariana's figure and made a silent signal to his accomplice standing
next to him.
-This woman seems to have some money.
The man smiled wickedly and stared at Mariana's ass.
-And good material.
The two men leered at each other and quickly came up with a plan.
Mariana, unaware of the danger looming over her, pushed her shopping cart and then struggled to
carry her large bag to the parking lot after checking in.
Good thing she had come by car, otherwise she wouldn't have made it home.

spaces.
She carried her heavy bags, stopping every three steps and slowly making her way to her car.
Somehow, at this point, there was a sudden flurry of footsteps behind her.
If it were put to her in the usual way, Mariana wouldn't pay attention at all, but today she kept looking
back.
The look made her heart pound.
She saw two men she couldn't quite make out their faces standing behind her, their eyes strangely
looking back at her.
-What's wrong with you guys...?
Mariana slowly put down the large bag in her hand and looked around in panic for her car.
Intuition told her that these two men were up to no good.
The skinny man looked at Mariana's distrustful expression and laughed heatedly.
-Don't be afraid beauty, it's very hard to see you lift that big bag. We want to help you.
This sentence let Mariana know immediately the purpose of the two men.
At that moment, the parking lot was empty and there was no one to help her.
-No need, thank you for your kindness, I can do it by myself.
Mariana forced herself to remain calm as she mediated with the two men. Her brain was racing to find
a way out.
There were surveillance cameras everywhere in this parking lot, but the people in the surveillance room
wouldn't necessarily have seen her in danger in time, and they certainly wouldn't have moved as
quickly as the two men in front of her.
"What should I do?"
Mariana put things down in her hands and took a step back.
-What do they want, would they let me go if I gave them money?
Mariana nervously clenched the bag in her hand, and kept glancing in the direction of the parking lot
entrance.
As long as a car could get in now, there was a chance she could call for help.
The two men approached Mariana step by step, and it was clear that their intentions were not limited to
money.
Their footsteps were getting closer and closer and Mariana's heart was about to jump into her throat.
At that moment, a strong light suddenly flared up behind Mariana. The light shone so brightly that the
two men could not open their eyes.
Finally, a car pulled into the driveway.
Without a second's thought, Mariana turned around and ran in the direction of the traffic lights, stopping
the oncoming car.
The car braked too late and Mariana fell hard to the ground, cutting a piece of skin on her knee and
twisting her ankle.
The driver angrily got out of the car and headed towards Mariana, who didn't care at all and looked
back. The two men had already run off.
Luckily, this driver was not a bad person and forgave her immediately after hearing her story, and even
sent her to the hospital.
Lying on a white hospital bed, Mariana was still in shock.
Before her breathing calmed down, someone she wasn't expecting entered the room.
-Xavier? -Mariana saw him and froze, "Why are you here?
A slight smile crossed the corner of Xavier's mouth and he removed his sunglasses, revealing a pair of
beautiful eyes.
-I came to see a friend at the hospital today and I happened to see you. I asked the doctor and came
over.
After saying that, Xavier looked worriedly at Mariana's plastered leg and sighed.
-What happened to you? I haven't seen you at the hospital very often.
Mariana also smiled slightly and told Xavier what had happened in the parking lot.
-How dangerous! -Xavier got angry when he heard that- -Where is Leopoldo, why isn't he with you?
Xavier knew her a little, and even if Mariana's words were simple, he could imagine how critical the
situation was at that moment.
Hearing this question, Mariana wanted to say something, but suddenly did not know how to tell Xavier.
-I forgot to tell him," Mariana hurried to change the subject. Go and get me a glass of water, I'm thirsty.
Xavier wanted to say something annoyed, but stopped his mouth and got up to bring Mariana a cup of
hot water.
He blew gently on the water and handed it to Mariana.
-By the way, have you eaten yet? - Xavier patted his thigh, "A very good, light and patient-friendly
Cantonese restaurant has opened next door to the hospital.
Before Mariana could refuse, Xavier picked up his sunglasses and ran down the stairs in a blaze of
glory.
When Xavier returned, Mariana laughed bitterly at the sight of the pile of things in his hand.
Xavier arranged all the things he bought on Mariana's nightstand. In addition to the Cantonese food,
there were all kinds of fruits, snacks, staples, and even a large bouquet of flowers.
-There was no need to buy so much," Mariana said with a bitter smile. I can't finish these fruits even if
you buy them?
-It's okay, I'll buy it back from you when the time comes," Xavier interrupted her, opened the rice and
glanced at it, frowning. It looks a little cold, I'll go heat it up for you.
