ORTEGA: THE ALPHA’S HUMAN MATE

Chapter 27

AT ALPHA DERRICK’S CHAMBER

Alpha Derrick was just putting on his blue suit jacket when he heard a knock on the door. He was standing in front of his dressing mirror.

“Come in.” He stated as he finished wearing his suit jacket.

The door opened and Ramos stepped inside the chamber, then he shut the door quietly behind him.

“Good morning, alpha.” He greeted with a slight bow of his head.

“Is the car ready?” Derrick asked as he combed his jet black air.

“Yes, alpha. The car is ready.” Ramos replied.

“What about Merrick? Is he ready for the meeting?” Derrick asked, wearing a Rolex watch around his wrist.

“I saw Lord Merrick carrying the human maid to the royal clinic.” Ramos replied, and Derrick glanced at him.

He was about to ask Ramos the reason why Merrick took Ortega to the royal clinic, but he decided against it because it was none of his business.

“Go to the royal clinic and tell Merrick we are leaving for the meeting in five minutes.” Derrick said, and Ramos nodded before leaving the chamber.

Derrick’s mind went to Ortega as he continued dressing, and he couldn’t help but to wonder what happened to her and why Merrick was carrying her to the royal clinic.

‘What was Merrick doing with her?’ he thought to himself, then she shook the thought of his mind

Merrick could be seen carrying Ortega in his arms, heading towards the royal clinic, while Priscilla followed him from behind with a worried look on her face.

The maids around the area had surprised looks on their faces when they saw Merrick carrying a maid — a maid who was not a werewolf but a human; the weakest creature known to them.

“How can a royalty like Lord Merrick be carrying that weak and pesky human maid?” A maid whispered to another maid.

“I wish I was the one Lord Merrick was carrying and not that stupid human.” Another whispered.

Merrick heard the maids loud and clear but he ignored them and he continued walking to the royal clinic.

Priscilla glared at the maids as she followed Merrick from behind.

They finally arrived at the royal clinic after walking for three minutes, and Merrick took Ortega to one of the rooms in the building.

“Go and call Agatha for me.” Merrick told one of the nurses in the clinic, and the nurse rushed out to call the royal doctor, then Merrick gently laid Ortega on the bed.

Priscilla stood beside him. “Thanks for bringing her here, Lord Merrick.” She said, and Merrick nodded.

“Why did she collapse back there? Is she sick?” He asked, glancing at Ortega who was lying unconscious on the bed.

“No, she isn’t sick. She experienced something traumatic last night and I think it kind of affected her this morning.” Priscilla replied, and Merrick raised a questioning brow at her.

“What traumatic thing did she experience last night?” He inquired.

“She almost got raped last night but….”

“She almost got raped?” Merrick cut in. His voice was filled with shock.

“Yes, but alpha Derrick was there to save her.” Priscilla replied.

“How did that happen? Did she leave the castle last night?” Merrick inquired.

Priscilla was about to speak when the door suddenly opened, and Agatha stepped in with two other nurses behind her.

“Greetings, Lord Merrick.” They greeted Merrick and he simply nodded in reply.

“What happened to her?” Agatha asked, glancing at Ortega’s unconscious body on the bed.

“She just suddenly passed out some minutes ago.” Merrick replied,

“Is she sick?” Agatha asked.

“No, she isn’t.” Merrick replied.

“Let me check what’s wrong with her.” Agatha said, and she walked towards the bed where Ortega was laying, then she placed both her hands on Ortega’s head.

Agatha’s eyes suddenly changed to green and it glowed brightly for a while before changing back to normal.

“She is just traumatized.” Agatha said, facing both Merrick and Priscilla.

“Yeah. Her friend here said she was almost raped last night, but Derrick rescued her. I think that’s the cause of the trauma. Is there something you can do to stop the trauma?” Merrick asked.

“Yeah.” Agatha nodded. “I have a potion that’ll help her forget her traumatic experience last night. Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.”

“Alright.” Merrick nodded.

“Go and bring me the memory healing potion.” Agatha said to one of the nurses.

The nurse immediately walked out of the room to get whatever she was instructed to bring.

Just then, a knock came at the door.

“Come in.” Agatha stated, glancing at the closed door.

The door opened and Ramos, alpha Derrick’s personal guard, stepped inside the room, shutting the door quietly.

“Good morning, Lord Merrick.” He greeted Merrick as he approached them.

“Morning, Ramos. What brings you here?” Merrick asked in reply.

“Alpha Derrick told me to remind you about the meeting. He said we’ll be leaving for the meeting in five minutes.” Ramos said.

“Gosh. I almost forgot about the meeting.” Merrick muttered, before facing Agatha. “Agatha, thanks a lot for your help. When she wakes up, please make sure she gets enough rest.”

“Okay.” Agatha nodded.

“Ramos, let’s go.” Merrick said, and he began walking towards the door with Ramos.

Ramos opened the door for Merrick to walk out first, then he also walked out of the room, and shut the door.

Agatha stared at the closed door, biting her bottom lip regrettably. She had something she wanted to tell Merrick, but because Priscilla was also in the room at that time, she couldn’t tell him. And now I he is gone.

‘Maybe I’ll tell him some other time.’ she concluded in her mind, sadly.

(ALPHA DERRICK’S CHAMBER)

Derrick was sitting on a couch, pressing his phone, chatting with some of his business partners in New York city.

Apart from being an alpha King, Derrick was also one of the most influential men in the world. He and his twin brother, Merrick, were on the list of the top 5 richest men in the world.

Derrick had billion dollar companies working under his name, and he controlled most of the major gold mining sectors in the world.

In short, Derrick was a billionaire alpha king.

Derrick was still chatting with his business partners when he heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.” He said without taking his gaze off his phone.

The door opened and Ramos stepped inside the chamber, then he shut the door quietly.

“Alpha Derrick, Lord Frederick requests your presence in his chamber before you leave for the meeting.” Ramos informed, and Derrick let out a low growl.

He already knew the reason why his father wanted to see him was to discuss about his goddamn wedding with Felicia, and that ruined his mood.
