Chapter 182: So you're just here
"Haist! Who would that be? Do you expect any guests today?" I asked in dismay but still let him nibble my neck.
"No, I don't," he replied in a whisper and stopped but then I grabbed his face.
"Then just pretend you're not here and let them ring that bell until they get tired!" I said before pulling and kissing him again.
But it wasn't a few seconds passed when that annoying guest or guests on the other side of the door pressed the bell again. "Argh!" I complained, annoyed.
"Let's just ignore them," he said with a chuckle.
But here's the bell again.
"Haist! Jesus Christ! Fine, go and find who they are. I'll wait for you here!" I patted him on the shoulder, mentioning him to get up.
"Are you sure?"
"Hmhm," I hummed as I nodded.
"Okay, I'll shoo them away so I can get back immediately."
"Alright, aren't you going to put your shirt back?" I asked as he was about to go to the door... topless.
"Nope, I'm sure this won't take long," he winked and I chuckled.
"Okay, as you say so," I said with a shrug and hook my bra again.
But a few seconds later... just a few seconds after Luke walked towards the door, I heard the voice of a woman.
"Oh, sweet heaven! Why are you topless--- aren't you called?"
I frowned, confused as to who that woman was but when I heard my name...
"I can't find my best friend! Samantha is missing!"
-'Huh!'- A loud gasp escaped my throat and my eyes turned wide as saucers when I finally recognized her voice. -'Jeez! How the hell on earth did I not recognize Jack's voice?'-
I was about to run upstairs and thought of hiding in Luke's room but it was too late as she already walked into the living room and bingo!
"Samantha?"novelbin
"Ah-ow!" It was the only thing that left my lips. Tsk. Tsk... it wasn't even a word.
"Oh, for the love of God--- I can't believe you're just here!" Jack exclaimed, her voice vibrating through my eardrums.
"Hi," I slowly turned around with an awkward smile.
"Gosh! Don't you know how worried I was about you? As far as I remember you said, you were just going out, going to the supermarket, buying ice cream, and buying the cake flour that you promised me at the same time!" "Oh, my God! My ice cream!" I exclaimed loudly as I remembered the chocolate ice cream in my car compartment.
"Huh! Oh, yeah, your ice cream! I was so worried because it's been almost five hours and I still couldn't reach your number! But what I didn't know was that you were here and despite my worries, you were just right here! Of all the places we can think of, I'm really surprised you're here! You're just right here!"
I don't know how many times she mentioned and emphasized the words 'You were here and You were just right here.'
"Uhm... it's just that something came up and... and..." And I don't know what to say.
"Something came up--- oh, really?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and looking at me from head to toe.
And since I felt awkward by the way she stared at me, I turned my gaze to my brother but it was a wrong move because just like his wife, he also has a detective-like look in his eyes.
"Hmm... by the way, I don't want to hear the reason you're here because I think I already have an idea. But what I want to know is that... " She paused and then glanced at Luke. "Why are you topless, Mr. Williams? Don't tell me that it's hot inside your house, because I had just entered and I already feel cold from the high temperature of your air conditioner."
I held my breath when my brother asked a follow-up question not at Luke but at me.
"And why does your hair look like a mess?"
"Huh?" I was shocked at his question and before I could form any word...
"Oh, my God!" Jack exclaimed, her eyes widened as she turned to her husband.
"Did we interrupt something?" My annoying brother asked, his eyes were moving from me to Luke who had just rolled his eyes at him.
"Oh, yeah, did we just interrupt your... I mean... did we interrupt something? You know, Luke isn't wearing a shirt and your hair is a mess--- jeez!"
"Yes, you interrupted us! Why the
hell did you two have to go here and walk into my house? Don't you know how to use your cellphones? You could have just called me first!Luke stepped forward, glaring at the two.
"Whoa! I'm sorry, dude, we didn't know you were in the middle of---"
"Shut up!" I exclaimed, cutting off my brother.
"Fine, I'm sorry, I... I..." I threw Jack a death glare when she could not continue her sentence as her laughter interrupted her.
"I'm sorry, okay?" Dale glanced at me still with his annoying grin. "And dude, we are going to have a man-to-man conversation tomorrow, huh?" He then hugged Luke in front of me.
"Yeah, and you..." Jack pointed at
me. "I love you, girl, I'm happy for you!" She squealed and I couldn't help but smile. "I'll forgive you for forgetting about my cake flour but please want to know the whole details! And how did you end up in your ex-husband's house with messy hair and swollen fips, huh!"
"What?" I suddenly covered my mouth and snapped at Luke but he just chuckled.
"It's okay, we understand, right, Mr. Soriano?"
"Of course, Mrs. Soriano!"
And I rolled my eyes when Dale kissed her on the forehead.
"Anyway, we have to go so you could contribute to what you were doing before we came and walked in," Dale winked at Luke but I just heaved a sigh.
"Bye-bye," I heard my best friend's voice before I heard the door being closed.
"Ahh, goodness!" I exclaimed when Luke came back and immediately slumped my suddenly tired body onto the couch. I felt like all my energy had been drained when they appeared in front of us. I heard Luke's chuckle and I turned to him with a pout. He then sat down next to me and kissed me on the cheek.
"Ahh!" But then I screamed when he
suddenly grabbed me by my waist and made me sit on his lap. He put my arms around his neck, my legs spread both on his sides and then wrapped his hands around my waist as he gave another peck on the lips.
"We can now continue what we were doing earlier, sweetheart,"
A wide smile spread across my lips and without a word, I initiated the kiss. We were once again back to the feeling we were sharing earlier but I had to stop him.
"Why?" He asked me, confused.
"Let's go upstairs," I whispered seductively and bit his lower lip.
"Okay, your wish is my command, Mrs. Williams," He stood up with me in his arms and with legs wrapped around his waist.
"Hey! What do you mean by Mrs. Williams, we're divorced remember?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I know, but you are soon to be back to Mrs. Williams again," he grinned.
"Ohh... but you have to talk to your daughter about that,"
"Tss! Trust me, sweetheart, Cali is the first to celebrate when she hears the news."
"News about what?"
"News that we're back together and that we're getting married again,"
"Huh?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "Hello... you haven't proposed to me yet, remember?"
"Aww! I will do that later... in bed,"
"Whoa!" My eyes widened when I saw the devious smirk playing on his lips. "Luke Marcuz Williams, I'm serious!" I playfully glared at him.
"And I am too, sweetheart, trust me!" He said as he continued to chuckle and walk toward his room.
