Chapter 55 Mr. Stone, We Don't Make Appointments
At that moment, Vivienne shuddered in her sleep.
She didn't know when she fell asleep or how long she had slept for. She was awakened by the noise on the balcony - someone was throwing empty cans onto her balcony and they kept banging loudly. Vivienne rubbed her eyes and got up to go outside. She saw a person standing on the neighboring balcony who said to her, "Hey there."
The cold wind of early spring made Vivienne shiver as she replied with a sleepy voice, "Why are you planning to fight on the balcony again today? Let me watch and then criticize your abilities?" Maxwell sneered, "Tsk tsk, you don't have any filter at all."
Vivienne stretched lazily and said, "You talk like you're better than me."
"Do you have anything tomorrow?" Maxwell asked.
"I'm just a small actor. Do you think I'll have something important?" Vivienne replied coolly.
"Then come with me to shoot an MV at the studio tomorrow morning," Maxwell suggested.
"Sure thing. But did you negotiate the price with Megan yet?" Vivienne asked.
Maxwell laughed and said, "I'll give you more if you praise my stamina."
Vivienne smiled briefly and felt relaxed for a rare moment. She turned to look at Maxwell but couldn't see his face clearly in the darkness. It felt like she was dreaming - talking aimlessly with this superstar who shone brightly on stage only two meters away from her was completely different from being on stage itself.
"Why do you live here when you're so rich?" Vivienne suddenly asked him.
"Does it bother you?" Maxwell retorted.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Not really..."
"The night is still young since we can't sleep anyway. Would it be okay if I came over to your place?" Maxwell asked.
Vivienne turned around and leaned on the railing, propping her chin up to look at Maxwell. "Are you trying to hook up with me?"
Her face shone in the night like a fox's eyes. When Maxwell met her gaze, he felt an itch in his heart.
He said, "So... do you want to?"
"Rather than harming my own kind, I prefer causing trouble for others," Vivienne replied.
Maxwell was stunned for a moment before bursting into laughter. "I love your attitude! After seeing you yesterday on the balcony, I knew we were of the same kind. If not hooking up then how about having some drinks together?" "Sure thing."
Maxwell went back inside and brought out two cans of beer which he threw over to Vivienne across their balconies.

He joked with Vivienne saying, "Actually why bother working so hard? Just spread rumors about us being together and everything will be solved."
Vivienne nodded seriously and asked him, "You're helping me but why? Why would someone like you help someone like me?"
Why help her when there are so many other celebrities who would benefit more from such rumors?
Maxwell took a sip of beer and laughed it off saying, "Because I want to sleep with you..."
Vivienne didn't say anything but just looked at him quietly.
Maxwell chuckled again and said jokingly: "Just kidding! Anyone who wants to sleep with me has got to be an A-list celebrity right? You can't even make it onto D-list!"
Vivienne smiled briefly but didn't take it personally. She was tired tonight after chatting with Maxwell for two or three hours straight; she yawned several times before leaving him alone on the balcony as she went back inside her room to sleep. On his own balcony now smoking three cigarettes one after another while laughing self-deprecatingly, Maxwell thought to himself that it was rare to meet someone like Vivienne who didn't look at him as if he were a piece of meat.
