Chapter 12 Getting Knocked Out
Chapter 12 Getting Knocked Out
He stayed up all night.
At the break of dawn, Calvin suddenly opened his eyes and got up at once.
He was astonished that he was feeling strangely good even though he hadn’t slept all night. And every
cell of his body was more alive than ever.
He looked at himself in the rear-view mirror and realized he was a few years younger.
“Can it really extend life expectancy and stop me from aging?”
“I should’ve left some for her.”
“But she wouldn’t believe me.”
After last night, he knew the Houstons wouldn’t leave him anything to eat for breakfast.
Calvin didn’t feel hungry at all. He was standing in front of the garage and the force in his body made
him want to throw a fist. Abruptly, something crossed his mind.
“Malandra Fist!”
The Book of the Malandra?
Calvin calmed himself down and started reading the Book of the Malandra quietly.
The Malandra Fist came from the origin of the force.
There were nine moves but they were constantly changing.
Calvin mocked the moves and raised a fist. Bang! There was an air blast in front of his fist.
Calvin stopped and looked around. He didn’t expect this to be so loud.
He must find a quiet place for his exercises so that no one would know what he did.
He opened his fist and found out the Yin-Yang Compass was dim and the signs on it were quite blurry.
Back when he had just become the heir of the Malandra Master, he clearly remembered that there
were both shining white and dark lights on the Yin-Yang Compass. How could it become...
Was his overusing the mysterious power the reason why the Yin-Yang Compass became the way it
was.
This was possible.
Calvin tried to connect with the compass but he couldn’t get any responses.
So he had to figure it out himself.
Calvin checked the time and it was around 6 a.m. Rita must be sleeping at this time.
He was bored and started jogging around the garden.
Just as he was getting a runner’s high, he heard a scream.
It came from Mrs. Houston’s room.
Was the cursed bone of a child really that powerful?
Calvin didn’t give it a second thought and ran to her room. If something really happened, he didn’t want
a person to die under his nose.
Calvin rushed into Mrs. Houston’s room and found her lying in the bed with her hands choking her own
neck. She looked like she was suffering from great pain and torture.
Calvin came forward and called her name a few times. But Mrs. Houston was looking weird. Her face
distorted from pain and then the pain shifted to rapture, which was quite horrifying under the dim light.
“What...what happened?”
Calvin knew he had to do something but he didn’t know where to start.
“Dummy,” The Book of the Malandra sounded like he had just woken up.
“You know what to do?” Calvin asked hastily.
“Of course I do. It was just a puny ghost. Nothing to be afraid of. You used your power before, right?”
Calvin nodded, “Yeah, but I thought I could only save lives. Can I also bust ghosts?”
The Book was irritated by his question, “If it weren’t for the loss of my power, I would slap you in the
face. Your power can not only enable you to bust ghosts, you are also capable of destroying gods.
Killing a ghost is nothing compared with that.”
Calvin was in a hurry and didn’t have time to listen to The Book bragging.
“What should I do?”
“Idiot. Why would the Master choose you? Remember, you owe me one.”
All of a sudden, a golden light struck and Calvin was confused about what it did.
But when he looked at Mrs. Houston, he was shocked.
There was a ghost of a bony child on her. The ghost was clinging to her body and its long tongue
wrapped around her neck tighter and tighter.
“It’s really you, you little thing.”
Calvin knew what he should do and grabbed the toothpicks on the nightstand.
He didn’t have any tools and the toothpicks would do.
Several toothpicks were placed on her body.
The ghost started howling and Mrs. Houston was also screaming.
Seeing that the ghost was confined, he reached out to pull its tongue.
“Calvin!” someone yelled from behind. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Calvin turned around. Lewis, Rita, Carrie and some servants were standing at the door in shock.
Rita was trembling out of anger. She heard her grandma in her sleep and thought she was dreaming.
She didn’t go downstairs until she heard several hasty footsteps.
When she came, she saw Calvin was choking her with his bare hands, trying to kill her grandmother.
Rita didn’t expect Calvin to be like that.
Last night, she was still worried about him and brought him a thick quilt.
This two-faced monster resented Mrs. Houston just because she favored Vincent.
Rita couldn’t take it anymore and smacked a teapot on his head heavily.
The teapot broke.
A warm stream of blood flowed down his forehead.
“You wanna kill her just because she said some bad things to you?”
Carrie joined in and kicked him twice, “You monster! Call the police and have him arrested!”
Even Lewis, who had always been nice to Calvin, was mad, “Calvin, get out of our house now! I don’t
want to see you anymore.”
Blood blurred his eyes.
Rita mustered all her strength to hit him and Calvin was feeling dizzy. He stumbled and sat on the bed.
He was feeling drowsy.
He couldn’t hear anymore. He could only see the Houstons pointing fingers at him and yelling.
But he couldn’t hear a thing.
Calvin shook his head and found the ghost lying on Mrs. Houston’s chest, grinning.
No, he couldn’t give up like that.
Calvin struggled to his feet and the way he looked was quite terrifying.
Lewis stood in front of his wife and daughter and roared, “You bastard! You want to harm us?”
Calvin was staggering and looking around the room. Then he saw a piece of broken chinaware which
was stained with blood and grabbed it.
Seeing that, Rita dragged her father away, “Calvin, stop acting crazy. If you dare to hurt my family, I
won’t let you get away with this.”
Calvin was pale and he said bitterly, “Your family...Right, they’re your family.”
He used all of his strength and aimed at the ghost’s tongue with the piece of chinaware. He didn’t know
whether it would work or not.
But this was the only thing he could do.
The Houstons saw he was about to cut Mrs. Houston’s throat and got horrified.
“How dare you!”
“Monster...”
“Ahhhh...”
A haunting scream filled the room with terror. It didn’t come from a human being.
Everyone in the room was petrified. The scream was terrifying as if it was from hell. It couldn’t be the
sound of Mrs. Houston.
After that, Calvin fell to the ground and went into a coma.
“What happened to him?”
Rita ground her teeth and said, “He had it coming. Go and check grandma.”
Everyone went to see Mrs. Houston and ignored Calvin.
“Mrs. Houston, are you alright?”
“Grandma, wake up!”
Mrs. Houston slowly opened her eyes and everyone was finally relieved.
“Mrs. Houston has God’s blessings and that bastard couldn’t hurt you.”
“Calvin was acting like a monster. He nearly killed her.”
“Why are you still standing there? Bandage the wounds!”
The family doctor opened his medical case and took out the bandage. He gently wiped out the blood on
Mrs. Houston’s neck, only to find out there was no wound at all.
“How is it possible? Where did all this blood come from?”
“It was from that bastard. It seems like he didn’t get his way. He deserved it!” Carrie spat on Calvin and
kicked him again.
Rita was confused. She did saw him cutting her grandma’s neck with the broken chinaware.
Just as she was still wondering, Lewis yelled, “Look, the toothpicks on mom’s body also fell down.”
Rita came forward and found out that the toothpicks weren’t stuck in her body and didn’t even leave a
mark.
What the hell was going on here?
