Chapter 1418 The Bloodsucker Race
Chapter 1418 The Bloodsucker Race
In just a blink of an eye, five days had already passed. In two more days, they would reach the capital
city of the Blood Cloud Region.
It had been quiet these days. The young people outside didn't dare come in to cause trouble.
But Darren knew that their hatred for him had only grown more intense.
During the past days, he had gained a lot. His opponents' hostility had improved his cultivation base.
What he would usually achieve in three months, he had gained them in just a short time.
"The Defiant God Character is so powerful. The more enemies I have, the faster my cultivation base
will grow! It won't be long now until I reach the Celestial God Realm." Darren was very satisfied with the
results.
As he was preparing to practice once more, a violent earthquake shook the floor beneath him.
"Weber, go out and check if those guys are causing trouble."
Weber did what he was told to do and flew out. He returned in just a few moments.
"Darren, bad news!" It seemed like Weber was a little nervous.
"What's wrong?"
"We are surrounded."
As soon as Gatlin heard this, his face darkened. "Let me kill those ants," he said.
"That's not what I meant, Master Gatlin. We're surrounded by some monsters. Many of the people
outside are dead."
Without a moment to lose, Darren and Gatlin flew out together,
their robes rustling behind their wake.
It was dark outside with no ray of light in sight. Meanwhile, the Thunder Bird was surrounded by
countless creatures with bat-like wings on their backs.
"What are they?"
Darren had never seen such creatures before.
"It's the bloodsucker race!"
Having such wide knowledge and experience, Gatlin could immediately recognize those strange
creatures. They were dangerous beings that lived in the far west of the Primitive Wilderness.
They were strong and had preference for blood. It was said that these creatures would even dare to
drink the black blood of the fiends.
"We're doomed! We're doomed!"
"What a terrible thing! Why are they in our human territory? Does this mean that the Ancestral Land
has already been occupied?"
"I don't want to die."
The cowards among the crowd began to cry and shout in fear. They were too scared of these fierce
creatures.
"These creatures are probably the reason why people are saying that a lot of Thunder Birds had
disappeared before."
Then, with a flash of light, one of the winged creatures landed on the Thunder Bird's back.
His face was pure white, and his eyes were sunken deep in his sockets.
Two sharp teeth protruded down from his top lips. His very appearance was terrifying.
There was malice in his eyes as he looked around. He then stretched out his white, slender fingers and
waved at a woman. She automatically flew into his waiting hand.
With his hand wrapped around her neck, he sank his two sharp teeth into her throat. Blood immediately
gushed out.
"The taste is so average. Truly, the blood of scared people isn't delicious enough." Disgusted, the
creature then threw the human girl away.
"Ellis! Why didn't you save my sister? How can you watch her die?" another woman with red rimmed
eyes cried out.
The young man named Ellis Lu suddenly slapped her on the face.
"Why would I save her? She's a bitch. In fact, you're even lower than a bitch. You're just my toys. So
don't forget that."
With that, he then stepped forward and knelt down before the winged creature. "Distinguished Lord of
the noble bloodsucker race, please accept my humble and sincere greetings."
"How do you know the etiquette of our race?"
Initially, the powerful bloodsucker planned to suck Ellis' blood, but he quickly changed his mind upon
seeing how Ellis properly greeted him according to the bloodsucker race's etiquette.
"Distinguished Lord, my mother is part of your race's noble blood lineage. Her name is Marley Ariola.
And while I may have some human blood in me, my heart has always been with the great bloodsucker
race. I'm very proficient with all your race's etiquette."
"Ellis, you!"
"Ellis, are you really from a foreign race?"
"This is too terrifying."
This revelation had deeply shocked everyone, even his friends.
"The Ariola Clan is indeed a great clan. Send your mother my regards. Tell her it's from Carthy."
"Okay, Lord Carthy." Ellis then stood up. There was a smile gracing his face.
"Lord Carthy, please allow me to choose the human with the most delicious blood for you." He humbly
bowed down to Carthy.
"Since you're most familiar with humans, I suppose I can let you choose for me."
With that, Carthy pulled out a chair and sat down. A transparent goblet suddenly appeared in Ellis'
hands.
The young man sneered and went straight to Darren.
Darren and his two companions were quiet the entire time, trying to find out more about the
bloodsucker race.
"You lowly ant, let Lord Carthy have a taste of your blood."
Ellis lifted the goblet up with one hand while the other held a knife at Darren's throat, ready to spill
blood.
But before he could even move, a flash of sword light passed through him.
The next moment, his head rolled to the ground.
All eyes were suddenly focused on Darren.
Could it be... That he was resisting? He just killed Ellis Lu. No, he killed the bloodsucker's companion!
This scene had frightened the humans even more. They were hoping that the bloodsucker would let
them go once he drank some delicious blood.
Instead, this young man had resisted and even killed Ellis Lu in front of the bloodsucker!
This action had sealed their doom!
"How...how dare you! How dare you kill Lord Carthy's servant in front of his very own eyes? Do you
want to die?"
someone shouted angrily at Darren. Deep down, the man was hoping it would convince the
bloodsucker not to kill him.
"Great Lord Carthy, I'm willing to take over Ellis' position and choose for you instead." As if on cue,
those who were relying on luck prostrated themselves to the ground and began to beg desperately.
'How pathetic our human race is.' There was a heaviness in Darren's heart as he watched the others
beg. A foreign race had invaded their territory and yet these people weren't angry. They were groveling
at their enemy's feet instead. This was truly a heartbreaking sight.
If these were brave men, they wouldn't care if their blood got sucked. They wouldn't care if they died.
They would choose to fight and die with honor!
Unfortunately, not everyone was as brave as Darren.
"The human race is so interesting,"
Carthy said mockingly. He called a man over, filled a cup of the man's blood, and sipped from it.
"Well, as long as you're willing to offer your blood to me, I promise not to kill you." He smiled teasingly.
"Lord Carthy, it is my honor to serve my blood to you."
"Lord Carthy, please have as much of my blood as you want. I'm willing to serve you forever as long as
you spare my life."
With renewed hope, many people fell down to their knees and prostrated themselves at the
bloodsucker. All of them were ready to obey him.
"You're very interesting. I suppose you don't plan on offering you blood to me, am I right?"
the creature said to Darren with a polite smile as soon as he turned into a shadow and landed in front
of him. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
