Chapter 746
Fanny felt a tingling sensation on her scalp as an inner voice grumbled, "Why do I keep running into him?!" Although she wasn't exactly thrilled, she lifted her head and greeted him honestly, "Hey, Uncle Sinclair."
Sinclair was dressed in his signature black shirt with dark trousers, an unchanging ensemble. Yet, for some reason, every time Fanny saw him, it felt like the first time all over again.
"Are you here for something?" Sinclair repeated the question she hadn't answered before.
Fanny shook her head, "No, it's my friend who's here."
"Do you need help?" Sinclair asked directly.
She pondered for a moment. Her friend Felicia really did need help getting out, and if she asked Sinclair, he probably could assist, considering Felicia hadn't done anything wrong.
But since Felicia had asked her to find Shirley, there was no need to bother Sinclair with this, "No, thank you, Uncle Sinclair."
Sinclair hummed softly from his throat, "Are you off today?"
"Yeah," Fanny regretted her response immediately, sensing what Sinclair might say next.
After all, she knew Sinclair was not one to beat around the bush.
Sure enough, Sinclair asked the next second, "How about we grab some lunch together, then?"
The last thing she wanted was to be alone with him. Ever since the incident where they saw more of each other than they should have, things had changed between Fanny and him.
"No, thanks, I have other things to take care of," Fanny declined.
"I have something to ask you, to talk about," Sinclair rejected her rejection.
Fanny looked at him, and Sinclair added, "It won't take much of your time, and besides, you need to have lunch anyway."
Right, it was precisely noon. Talk about impeccable timing, as if fate had decided to play matchmaker.
With Sinclair putting it that way,
Fanny knew it wouldn't be appropriate to refuse further.

"What do you feel like eating?" Sinclair asked as they got into the car.
"Anything's fine," her response was as good as not answering.
Sinclair, gripping the steering wheel, suggested, "How about we go for your favorite, hot pot?"
Indeed, she enjoyed hot pot, but with him, she feared she might end up throwing herself into the pot as well. Besides, with his overpowering CEO aura, having hot pot felt oddly mismatched.
"Hot pot's more fun with a crowd for the atmosphere. Let's wait until Felicia gets out, and then we can all
go together. You could invite your girlfriend too," Fanny proposed.

Sinclair glanced over, "So, what will we eat today?"novelbin
What did Fanny know about choosing food when with him, everything could upset her stomach?
But they had to eat today, so when they passed by a noodle shop, she casually suggested, "How about noodles?"
The words were out before she remembered he never ate such things. But having said it, she wouldn't take it back.
After all, he was the one who asked her.
She felt like having noodles today.
"Okay!" To Fanny's surprise, he agreed.
They parked the car and walked in.
It was the lunchtime rush, and the noodle shop was already filled with girls enjoying their meal. The moment they entered, Fanny felt many eyes on them.
Fanny was well aware that those looks weren't for her.
Just like during their school days, wherever Sinclair appeared, admiring glances from girls were guaranteed. And more often than not, she found herself perceived as a rival.
