Chapter87 There must be a Misunderstanding
There must be a Misunderstanding
They were only one road away from each other, but Richard sat in his car, quietly looking at Pearl in
hers. He wanted to ask her about what had happened, but didn't at the end.
Pearl was a woman who was strong and analytical. She would always be calm upon facing trouble and
rarely lost her temper. Her splashing Adriana with water today was already an unbelievable thing to
him. There should be something that he hadn't known.
"Mr. Zellweger, Dr. Yonng has started her car. Should we still follow her?" Richard's assistant said. After
Richard said 'yes', the car started to catch up.
The car followed Pearl all the way to the entrance of her apartment building. After watching her car
enter the gate, Richard sat in his car silently.
The car was quietly parked to one side. The assistant held the steering wheel and couldn't help but
blurt out, "Mr. Zellweger, you really care a lot about her."
Richard slightly frowned.
Although he was unwilling to acknowledge it, it was the truth. Ever since he knew that Pearl had
returned to Kityall City, he found it hard for him to not pay attention to her.
"What do you think about the thing happened in the restaurant today?" Richard asked.
Ted was stunned, as this was probably the first time that Richard had asked for his personal opinions.
Thinking for a while, he eventually said, "Perhaps there was some sort of misunderstanding."
Richard remained silent, but from his look, he actually wanted Ted to continue.
"Dr. Yonng looks like a person who is easy to get along with. She wouldn't do that thing for no reason,
especially in public. So I think Miss Wood must have said some things that had angered her."
"What could it be?"
"I'm not sure about this." Ted looked at Richard hesitantly.
Although Ted didn't have much contact with Pearl, it was not difficult for him to get to know her
personality. She must haven't splashed water on Adriana for no reason.
After a long while, Richard had Ted start the car.
The black car then rejoined the traffic on the street.
Richard said, "Go and investigate the matters of her children's school application. And help them get
into the school."
"Yes, sir."
...
Late night, in the living room, the wine bottles were piled up on the table.
Pearl hugged a pillow and laid on the sofa. She was feeling a headache. Usually, when her kids were
by her side, she could only suppress her feelings. Now that her kids were staying with her father, she
was alone now.
She was not good at drinking. After a few bottles of wine, she was already tipsy. Her body was weak,
and that helped her fall asleep easier. However, as soon as she closed her eyes, all she could see
were the scenes of the past.
She and Adriana had known each other for a long time. The Wood and the Yonng family had had
business deals in their early years. Even though their families gradually lost contact, the two of them
had become bestie. They spent time together most of the time.
It was because of her kindness to her best friend and a lack of defences that had hurt her so much.
She felt dizzy, and she didn't even know if the memories she was reliving were real or if they were just
a dream.
"Will you really enroll in Dr. Wale's lab class, Pearl?"
"Yes."
"Then you're in trouble, I heard that Dr. Wale does not like students who are in a relationship. He thinks
it will distract students from their studies. What if he knows that you have a boyfriend?"
"Are you serious? He doesn't even let people be in a relationship?"
"I don't know. I heard it from my seniors."
"How could that be, I can't even be in a relationship?"
...
Pearl said, "Adriana, the senior in your Arabic class seems to like you, right? He looks good."
"Pearl, don't talk nonsense."
"You're so young, why don't you want to have a boyfriend. Since you aren't as busy as me."
"I just don't want to."
"Is it because you like someone else?"
"No. It's not like that."
"Then why are you flushing? Tell me, hurry up. I want to know who is lucky to be liked by you!"
"No, really!"
...
The campus in her dream was still the same as the one in her memories. Warm lights shone through,
and the air was clean and comfortable too.
With a 'bang', time went to their graduation day.
The surrounding seemed to be covered by a vague illusion, which made Pearl feel confused as she
was lost in the crowd. NôvelDrama.Org content rights.
Suddenly, "I can't drink anymore." A voice came from her shoulder.
Pearl was stunned for a moment. She looked at Adriana, who was leaning on her shoulders. Her was
flushed with drunkenness. It was obvious that she'd drunk a lot.
Looking up at the bustling scene in front of her, Pearl went back to her senses.
Was this the graduation party of the Foreign-Language department?
Students from the School of Medicine had to study for at least five years, so this was just the
graduation party of the foreign-language department.
"Why are you so drunk?" She suddenly heard a familiar voice.
Pearl was stunned once again. She then looked up at Richard.
He was in his early twenties, dressed in a casual suit. His brows were deeper than those of his age, but
not as cold. Rather, he seemed to be more easygoing and carefree.
"Richard," Pearl said in a daze. She wanted to touch him, but she found that she just couldn't raise her
hands.
The next second, she found herself said, "Richard, Adriana has drunk too much. Please send her
home. She lives in her own apartment now."
She was extremely surprised, as she couldn't control herself. It was as if another soul was resting on
her body.
"What about you?" Richard asked.
"I will go to the lab later, and then to the dorm."
"I'll send you back to the dorm first." Richard said.
"I'm okay. I didn't drink."
After leaving the banquet hall, Pearl escorted the two of them to the door. Richard looked very worried.
"Call me when you reach the dorm."
"Sure. See ya."
The taxi gradually drove away. In the dark night, Pearl walked alone. She began to feel groggy on the
way to campus.
Don't go that way, don't...
In her dreams, no matter how hard Pearl tried to remind herself, she could not stop the elusive figure.
She then finally entered the dark alley.
