Chapter118 I Can Help You
I Can Help You
After Pearl finished her work, she came back to the office.
Seeing there was only Ethan, she asked casually, "He has left?"
"Who?" Ethan looked up from behind the magazine and asked.
"You know who I'm talking about."
Ethan put his leg down from the coffee table and tugged on the white coat he had on, saying, "He left a
long time ago."
"He didn't say much things, did he?"
"What else can he say? Obviously today he came just for you."
Pearl was deep in thought, so she didn't probe further.
"Have you consider of my idea of becoming a family doctor?"
Ethan's voice made her come back to her senses.
"I was going to talk about that."
"So, what's your decision?"
"I accept your proposal."
Ethan nodded, "Okay then, I'll help you with this matter later on."
Pearl asked, "Why don't you ask me about what I'm thinking of it?"
"What else can you be thinking of? You must have been convinced by my wit, and can no longer find a
better suggestion..."
"Oh shut up."
"Where are my instant noodles?" Pearl glared at him angrily and suddenly asked.
She had two bowls of instant noodles here before she left for work. Ethan insisted on taking the beef-
flavoured instant noodles. So there should be another one.
Ethan suddenly stood up. "I remember that I have to go to the clinic. See ya!"
"How could you, Ethan Louise? You took my instant noodles! Are you even a human being?"
Pearl threw a paper ball which hit the door, but Ethan had already left.
As she was mad, Pearl caught a glimpse of something under the file beside her. After she opened it,
she saw a blue take-out thermal insulation bag.
There were two boxes of sushi in it. Seeing it, she felt her anger dissipated completely. "Why does he
have to go through the trouble every time?" She muttered bashfully.
It was already late in the afternoon.
After thunder roaring, heavy rain poured in Kityall.
It rained very frequently at this time of the year. After September, it was autumn in Kityall City.
The heavy raindrops hit the windows, which made people feel annoyed in the room.
"I just want to ask if Richard is busy today. Madam said that she wants to have dinner together
tonight." A gentle female voice could be heard from the phone.
Ted politely replied on phone: "Miss Wood, I'm really sorry but Mr. Zellweger is still in a meeting and
doesn't have time tonight. Later, Mr. Zellweger will call Madam to explain personally."
"No worries, Ted. I know that he's been really busy for the past few days. I've ordered some afternoon
tea and sent it to the office. It should arrive later."
"Thank you very much."
"My pleasure. I'll bring some dinner over to Richard later on."
"Miss Wood, Mr. Zellweger has a dinner appointment tonight and won't be in his office." Ted paused for
a while and said.
After being rejected several times, Adriana still kept her composure with a smile and said it was okay,
even though Ted couldn't see it.
She then hung up the call after advising on Richard's medication.
Her facial expression changed immediately.
"Bang!" She broke some tea cups on table.
The new maid in the living room was so scared that her face turned pale.
"What are you looking at? Why aren't you cleaning it up?" Adriana glanced at her and said angrily.
Only then did the maid come back to her senses. She hurriedly tidied up the porcelain fragments on the
floor.
"Miss, why are you so angry?" Hattie poured a cup of tea for her again and sat down beside Adriana.
"What else can it be? As long as I look for him, he is in a meeting or has a dinner appointment."
"You know that Mr. Zellweger is very busy at his work."
"No," Adriana clenched her fists, "Since he came back from the Louise family's banquet, he's been
colder to me. In the past, even if he was busy, he wouldn't go missing for so long."
Richard was still quite cold even when she mentioned his mother this time.
Hattie sighed. "Miss, forgive me for being blunt. Although he comes from a good family background,
there still needs to be love in a marriage. As far as I'm concerned..."
"Are you saying that he doesn't love me at all?"
"Who are you to say that?" Adriana's voice suddenly rose.
After being silent for a moment, Hattie stood up from the sofa. "I'm sorry, Miss."
Hattie single-handedly brought Adriana up. Adriana had never treated her in such a threatening way.
"Hattie, that's not what I meant. I..." Adriana regretted it when she saw how distant Hattie became.
"Miss, are you worried that he will break off the engagement?"
Adriana's feelings were always Hattie's top priority.
"You're the only one who understands me most." Adriana's voice was a little muffled. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
She admittedly used some methods to become his fiancée, but she felt that she had had no choice but
to do so.
It was too difficult to make Richard fall for her. She could never be Pearl as there could only be one
Pearl in this world.
Hattie said, "Miss, you don't have to worry about it. Didn't you say that Pearl has already married to Mr.
Louise? Even if Mr. Zellweger wanted to get back to her, he couldn't."
"Things could always change over time."
Seeing the rain outside the window, Adriana couldn't help but reminisce how it rained when she went to
see that man a few days before.
In the pitter-patter of the rain, the restaurant downtown was empty. That man opposite her lowered his
head as he was cutting through a medium-rare steak. With every cut, blood would ooze out.
"As long as you listen to me, I can help you secure your position as Mrs. Zellweger."
