Chapter 14 Daddy's here.
Chapter 14 Daddy's here.
Night fell. After coaxing the twins to sleep, Pearl closed the door gently and went back to her room.
During the past few years, Ethan had been a huge help. Without his help, it would be impossible for her
to handle both her studies and the twins.
Although Brandon was maturer, his sister would always persuade him into doing "bad" things.
Therefore, the twins would always be partners in making troubles.
Ever since they could walk, Pearl could always got different troubles. However, the twins did bring her
great memories over the years.
In the guest bedroom, Bonny peeked at the door from under the quilt. Suddenly she threw away the
quilt and jumped off the bed. Then she ran hurriedly to her brother's bed.
Brandon was already asleep when she came into his bed. But now he was fully awake. He sighed,
"Bonny, you're seven now. You can't sleep with me anymore."
Saying this, he still made some space for her.
Bonny poked her head out the quilt. She winked at her brother. "I overheard Mommy as she was calling
Ethan today and she mentioned Daddy."
"And?"
"Daddy's here. Mommy also said she has seen him at the hospital."
"Then?"
"Mommy never had a boyfriend. I think she must be waiting for Daddy. If Daddy meets us, do you think
they'll be together again?"
Brandon frowned. "Bonny, we shouldn't get involved into this. It's no use crying over spilled milk."
Bonny did not pay much attention to her brother's remarks. She went on muttering, "I think Daddy must
be handsome. I want to know what kind of person he is. I will find him."
Brandon frowned as he watched Bonny's happy face.
He had a feeling that his sister would make troubles again.
......
Pearl was suspended from work, but it was also a rare opportunity for her have a good rest at home.
She did not have enough time to clean up the apartment before, but now she could take this chance to
tidy up.
She didn't need to worry about the twins. They were better than her at ordering food with the phone. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Bonny was a sweet talker. So even when she just went downstairs to get an ice cream, she could also
receive a lot of free snacks from the different people all the way.
The only downside was that if Pearl didn't pay attention to them for just a few minutes, the twins would
went to somewhere she couldn't see.
She did not expect anyone who would be able to make the twins behave. After all, they booked flights
and even boarded the plane by themselves. It would likely be that a human trafficker would also be
tricked by this two little troublemakers.
A few days later, Pearl went back to the Yonng family with some gifts.
She had left for over seven years. Now she had been here just in front of the entrance, but she started
to feel a little uneasy. She seemed to be rooted to the ground and could not move.
But suddenly, the gate to the villa opened with a creak. The housekeeper Cicely went out with a
garbage bag. She went totally blank when she spotted Pearl. "Miss Pearl?"
"Miss Pearl, you are home?"
Cicely seized Pearl. Pearl's eyes turned red. "Cicely."
"You've been gone for so many years. Seven years? Such a stubborn child. Even your father scolded
you, you couldn't just ran away. And seven years..."
Cicely began wiping her tears. She continued, "Well, I should't said this. As long as you're back,
everything will be fine. Let's go inside."
Pearl followed Cicely into the courtyard. She looked around. A trim garden. The plants and flowers
looked orderly and neatly. And the swing was still in the courtyard. However, it looked a little old. It
seemed that it hadn't been used for some time.
Before she went into the house, a graceful figure blocked the way.
"Oh, I was just wondering who it was. Miss Pearl, so you finally decide to go back home now?"
Pearl looked over her shoulder. "Evelina?"
