Chapter 55 If You Don’t Want to Sleep, Then Get Out of the Way!
Chapter 55 If You Don’t Want to Sleep, Then Get Out of the Way!
Her tone was domineering.
Sophia's face had darkened to the point of ink.
She was no animal, so why should she follow Lacey's orders?
"Who do you think you are!" Sophia shrieked and flung a nearby doll at Lacey.
Instead of dodging, Lacey caught the doll dead on.
"You're nothing more than a used sack. What could a sc*mbag like you possibly teach me? Seducing
men?" Sophia scowled, raising her eyebrows. "Does the daughter of a wealthy family even need such
skills?"
She then muttered, "Who do you think you are?"
Lacey remained silent throughout. She gave nothing but a standard smile.
"What are you smiling at?"
Sophia couldn't help but frown at the sight of Lacey's smile. She couldn't read what was going through
her mind.
"It's getting late. Where is your room? I want to get some rest!" Lacey stood up and got straight to the
point.
"What? You want to sleep in my room?" Sophia's eyes widened in disbelief.
"If I'm not mistaken, your father has instructed me to eat, sleep and go to school with you, hasn't he?"
Lacey grinned as she raised her brows.
"Have you lost your mind? Don't you have any idea how filthy you are! What makes you think I'd let you
sleep in my room?" Sophia shrieked. Gradually, the look in her eyes turned to disdain. "Besides, there's
no telling how many days it's been since you've had a bath," she added.
Meanwhile, as if oblivious to Sophia's shouts, Lacey walked up to one of the servants and asked,
"Which floor is her room on? Which room is it?"
The servant's eyes darted back and forth between Lacey and Sophia. He hesitated for a moment.
It was clear that he was afraid to answer her question.
Lacey nodded, seeming to understand the servant's difficulty, and decided not to push him. "It's fine, I'll
ask Theo myself."
Others might not tell her, but that would not be the case with Theo.
Sophia tensed as soon as she heard Lacey mention going to Theo, as though a hedgehog detecting
danger. "Who are you to go looking for Theo?" she yelled as she hurriedly blocked Lacey's path. "You
want to seduce him, don't you? What an unashamed woman!"
"Do I look that easy to bully?" Lacey lifted her chin. Her smile was a ruthless one.
Yet, Sophia hadn't realized what was going on. She sneered, "What's the matter? Can't catch your
tongue? Don't you recognize your status by now? It's best if you back off while you still can. Otherwise
—"
Sophia didn't continue her sentence and instead offered a warning look.
Lacey's smile had all but vanished by this point.
Her eyes grew cold as she stared at the arrogant girl.
Just then, a glint of mockery crossed her eyes, and she raised her hand.
"Pa!"
Sophia was slapped across the face. Lacey was so quick that she hadn't managed to dodge.
Although Lacey appeared indifferent on the outside, the truth was that she had given in to Sophia many
times.
Why did she have to keep testing her patience!
Those about to leave heard the sound and were startled by what they saw.
Sophia had forgotten to cover her face. She was in a state of shock.
The servants opened their mouths wide as if they had seen something horrific.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator smiled faintly and said innocently, "Who do I think I am? Well, why don't you
ask yourself the same question instead? Who do you think you are?"
Sophia was at a loss for words.
"While you despise mistresses for being shameless, there is one in charge of disciplining you now.
Does that indicate that you are more shameless than a mistress?" Lacey sneered.
Eyes widening in shock, Sophia froze in place.
Still, Lacey wasn't about to let her go just like that. "True, I was raised in the country. But why should
you assume a country girl like me is filthy while you are the only clean one? The scents of various
perfumes surround you, yet did you know that a mixture of scents like this is often off-putting?"
Sophia was overwhelmed by embarrassment at this point.
"Also, in case you're wondering, I'm 5'6" tall and weigh 99 pounds." Lacey brushed her hair back.
"You dare to hit me!" Sophia snapped back after a brief pause. She was furious and wanted to return
the slap.
Lacey, on the other hand, caught hold of her hand just as her slap was about to land.
She then yanked Sophia over, causing Sophia to fall in her direction.
Sophia fell in a position where her head was close to Lacey's shoulder.
Lacey, her lips close to Sophia's ears, whispered, "Besides, don't you think you're more disgusting than
I am? I mean, how could you like Theo? He's your cousin, after all, isn't he?"
Sophia, Froze, forgot to struggle.
"What are you guys doing?" Suddenly, Sam's voice could be heard from afar.
Lacey let go of Sophia quickly. She stood up straight and wrapped her arms around Sophia's shoulders
before turning around. "We're just chatting. Is that right, Sophia?"
Sophia tilted her head to look at Lacey. She was in a trance and couldn't think of anything to say.
"That's great! After all, we're all going to be family, and families are supposed to be peaceful and
loving." Theo smiled as he walked forward.
Sam, on the other hand, remained emotionless. His deep dark eyes swept over Sophia's expression.
He could tell she was at a disadvantage.
Then again, who could win against Lacey, such a cunning woman?
"Lacey, are you tired? Which room will you be staying in tonight? Why don't you stay next to me?
There's plenty of room in Aunt Tilly's house." Theo hastily suggested.
Theo and Sam had just finished talking business with their parents, who had gone upstairs via the lift to
rest.
"It's all right. Uncle Alvaro told me to stay with Sophia. Besides, Sophia had invited me over as well.
Isn't that right, Sophia?" Lacey shifted her gaze to her side. Her grasp on Sophia's shoulder tightened.
With the pain coming from her shoulder, Sophia snapped back to her senses.
The corner of her mouth twitched as she looked at Sam and Theo. "I-I have to go to school tomorrow.
I'm pretty sleepy. I'm going to bed."
She dashed upstairs immediately after that.
Meanwhile, Lacey hadn't looked at Sam since the beginning. Instead, she turned to Theo and motioned
with her hand, saying, "Theo, you, too, should get some rest. I'm off to bed now." Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
With that, she swaggered up the stairs alongside Sophia.
Theo was delighted at the sight. "Sam, don't you think my darling is adorable?" He hurried over to Sam
and smiled silly.
"Your darling?" Sam repeated the sentence, a look on his face.
Feeling embarrassed, Theo scratched his head. "Don't worry. I'll do everything in my power to make
her mine one day!"
A sneer flashed in Sam's narrow eyes. He said meaningfully, "You need to get some rest. It's been a
long day!"
"Okay!" Theo did not object.
Meanwhile, on the third floor—
Lacey discovered that the room she was staying in was right next to Sam's!
Why hadn't she noticed this before?
Sigh—
Was there a sibling complex going on?
Lacey raised her brows as she entered the room.
The room was spacious, similar in size to Sam's.
The only difference was that his room was black and white, while Sophia's was pink with lace.
It was a princess-themed room.
As soon as Sophia entered the room, she sat on the bed and picked up a doll, eyeing Lacey warily.
Meanwhile, Lacey continued to look around as if she hadn't noticed Sophia's aggressive look.
After that, she opened the wardrobe.
"What am I wearing tonight?" Lacey asked.
Sophia dashed toward the closet.
With a loud thud, she slammed the wardrobe close.
"Don't touch my clothes!" she yelled as she guarded her wardrobe.
Lacey raised an eyebrow. "All right, if you don't mind, I'll sleep naked tonight!"
"W-what?" Sophia looked at her in shock. "How can you be so shameless?"
Frowning, Lacey put on a look of incomprehension and said, "Ms. Garrison, it's not like you're a guy.
Besides, you are the ones who won't let me wear your clothes. Also, I can't go without a shower, can I?
Don't worry, I won't mind you." She beamed.
What Lacey said gave Sophia goosebumps.
She hurriedly opened her closet and threw Lacey a pair of pajamas. "Take it and put it on! Throw it
away tomorrow!"
Lacey smiled as she saw the pricey pajamas. "I've never worn such expensive clothes before. I wonder
if I'll look good in it."
Sophia rolled her eyes. "You're sleeping on the couch tonight," she muttered.
Lacey took a look around the spacious room. There were two pink couches next to the window.
She took the pajamas and went straight into the bathroom without saying anything more.
A moment passed—
Lacey came out to find Sophia already lying on the bed.
......
"Aren't you going to take a shower, Ms. Garrison?" Lacey asked as she wiped her hair with a towel.
The moment Sophia turned to look over, she frowned. The heck?
Lacey looked quite attractive in her pajamas for some reason—
......
Realizing such a thought, Sophia shook her head hurriedly. She was probably blinded.
After tossing the towel aside, Lacey moved closer to Sophia. "Are you dizzy?"
"Ah—"
Sophia, who was still in a trance, was taken aback when she noticed Lacey's sudden zoomed-in face.
"Am I sleeping on the inside?" Lacey sat down on the bed without warning.
She then rolled over and moved inside.
"I'm dead tired. I'm sleeping now." Lacey shut her eyes.
"Ah! I didn't permit you to climb into my bed!" Get off! Get off my bed!"
Sophia immediately yelled, swinging her hands and feet.
It was as if Lacey was a plague, and she didn't want her near.
Lacey frowned at Sophia's fussiness. "What are you shouting about? Do I look like a virus? Or do you
think I would r*pe you in your sleep?"
"Get off my bed! I don't want you here! Get lost!"
Sophia was so enraged that she couldn't hear what Lacey was saying.
Lacey was the person she hated the most.
She refused to sleep with her.
"Get off!" Sophia grabbed Lacey's arm and tried to drag her off.
Lacey was enraged by her constant pull at this point.
She reached out her foot and kicked Sophia hard. "If you don't want to sleep, then get out of the way!"
"Bang!" The door opened at that precise moment.
"Waa—" was Sophia's scream as she fell out of bed
......
"Ah—"
Lacey panicked as well.
"What are you guys yelling about?"
Sophia and Lacey looked up at the same time.
Sam was standing at the door. Fogs surrounded him, perhaps because he had just taken a shower. His
perfect figure was visible with only a bath towel around his waist. His hair was still wet, and a drop of
water dripped down his brows, rolled around his collarbone, and slid to the ground.
Sam held evil temptation, a suffocating feeling that could penetrate one's soul.
With such a look, he lacked his usual indifference and alienation.
There seemed to be even a hint of gentleness in him.
"Sam—" Sophia moved, and so did the ribbon in her hand.
Lacey suddenly came to her senses. She lowered her head, and her pupils dilated rapidly.
"Ah!" She covered herself with her hands and quickly wrapped herself up with the blanket.
Only then did Sophia realize that she had ripped off the belt of Lacey's pajamas—
Didn't that imply Lacey had been naked on top the entire time?
