Mysterious Little Wife

Chapter 47 Did You Sleep With Him?

Chapter 47 Did You Sleep With Him?

"Hiss..." Sam propped up. Blood was oozing from his mouth.

He had been bitten at the tongue hard!

Raising her eyes, Lacey smiled coldly. "Mr. Garrison, you sure aren't a picky person. You were well

aware that I had tricked you, yet you still desired my body. How thirsty of you?"

Sam hadn't expected such a move from her.

Even more unexpected was the fact that a woman would turn him down!

"Lacey!" A cold hostility radiated from Sam as if he would pounce on her and tear her to pieces the next

second.

Lacey remained motionless. Instead, she sarcastically stated, "What's the problem? Are you upset?

Why don't I get you two prostitutes? What do you think? Better yet, I'll get you three! It's all on me!"

Sam chuckled of a sudden.

He gently stroked her cheek with his eyes full of affection. "I wonder if you'll ever fall for me?"

Lacey was taken aback.

Her being in love with him?

What a joke!

Lacey's eyes gleamed with a faint smile, tinged with mockery.

"Don't worry, Mr. Garrison. Even if all the men in the world were dead, I'd never fall in love with you!"

No sooner had the words left her lips than she reached out and pushed hard against his chest.

Sam grabbed her hand and pressed it against his chest. He sneered, "Why are you answering so

decisively? Are you playing hard to get?"

Lacey couldn't help but laugh as she gazed at the handsome man.

"Sure, I admit you're attractive and wealthy, but so what? Is it anything to do with me? Mr. Garrison,

there may be a lot of women out there who want to get you, but I'm not one of them. So, please put

your narcissism away. I couldn't care less!"

She was, in fact, telling the truth.

Lacey's eyes locked on Sam. She was not at all smitten with him.

If one looked closely, one could even notice the impatience and disgust in her eyes!

Seeing this, Sam lowered his head. His handsome face had grown gloomy at this point. "We'll see

about that!" He said in a faint tone of voice.

The man then lay down and put one arm around her. "Go to sleep!" He closed his eyes.

Lacey frowned and subconsciously tried to break free.

"I won't touch you. But if you keep moving, there'll be no promises—"

A warning sounded in her ear.

Lacey sneered. Having no choice, she leaned to one side and closed her eyes to sleep.

As the night approached, Lacey's breathing gradually calmed.

Sam, who was holding her, however, never went asleep.

No one knew what was on his mind.

Early the following day.

Lacey awoke to find the man next to her already gone.

Quickly, she got up and washed her face before making her way to the door.

"Breakfast is ready downstairs, Miss Lillianna." The servant at the door kept her smile, being polite.

Lacey gave the servant a nod and followed her down the elevator.

Meanwhile, at the dining hall—

At the table sat Alvaro, Tilly, Sophia, and Sam, who was having a coffee!

When Lacey got down, everyone looked up except Sam.

"Lillianna, hurry up and come here." Tilly greeted with a smile.

Lacey took a look outside the window, feeling eager to return home.

She wanted to report to her new school. After all, it was not good to be late on the first day.

"Lillianna, hurry up and eat. Make yourself at home." Tilly smiled as she drew Lacey to sit beside her.

"Is there anything here that you like to eat, Lillianna? If not, tell the cook. The cook at home will prepare

it for you." Alvaro chuckled.

Lacey smiled awkwardly. "Thank you, Uncle Alvaro and Aunt Tilly, but what we have here is more than

enough."

"Tsk!" A contemptuous voice rang out just then.

It was Sophia. She rolled her eyes.

After what happened last time, why hadn't Lillianna offered to apologize?

Sophia felt particularly upset at the thought.

Meanwhile, Lacey had only eaten some oatmeal as she had no appetite.

Perhaps it was due to the uneasy atmosphere around her.

She couldn't afford to lose her cool now that she pretended to be Lillianna.

If she used her true identity, she would be less concerned about these people.

"Aunt Tilly, Uncle Alvaro, I have to leave now. I have to go to school today. I'm worried about being

late." Lacey got to her feet after having her meal.

She'd had it with acting.

She wanted to get out of this place immediately!

"Tsk, tsk." All of a sudden, Sophia grimaced. "Lillianna, since when did you become so fond of

learning? Everyone knows that you're late to school at least three times a week!"

"Sophia!" Tilly scolded her.

"What? I'm only telling the truth. What's the point of her pretending now?" Sophia rolled her eyes. She

wanted to see if "Lillianna" still dared to provoke her.

Lacey gave the arrogant girl a perfunctory smile. She said, "As you mentioned, I'm late to school at

least three times a week. That is, there will be a day when I will be on time. Too bad, it's the very day

I'm supposed to be on time for school!"

Sophia was startled to hear the retort.

How dare Lillianna contradict her in front of her parents?

"Thank you for your hospitality. I'll be going now." Amidst everyone's surprise, she nodded politely and

walked to the door.

"I'm off to the office." Sam put down his coffee and strutted towards the door as well.

The servant quickly handed him a wrinkle-free suit.

At the door, the driver had the car ready.

Lacey bypassed the car and headed for the front gate with no moment's hesitation.

"It will take you twenty minutes to get out of here and reach the gate. If you want to find the bus, you'll

need to walk for another 30 minutes." Just then, Sam's voice rang out.

What he said stopped Lacey in her tracks.

The driver exited the vehicle and respectfully opened the door.

Sam then got into the car.

Turning around, Lacey approached the limousine and got in as well.

Although the back seat was quite spacious, Lacey chose a spot next to the door, taking up only a tiny

part of the area.

Obviously, she did not want to make any physical contact with the man next to her.

Sam leaned back against the leather seat. His lips formed an indifferent arc.

Neither of them said anything along the way.

It wasn't long before the car finally stopped in front of the Carters' house.

Through the car window, Lacey noticed Aunt Mya standing in the doorway. She was looking around,

seemingly in search of something.

As Lacey got out of the car, she slammed the door shut and went straight into the house. Throughout,

she didn't give Sam a single look.

Sam smiled faintly. He did not exit the vehicle.

Soon the limousine vanished from sight.

"Miss Lillianna, she's back." Aunty Mya yelled as she rushed into the house.

Lacey had just entered the house when she heard the sound of footsteps coming from the second

floor.

It was Lillianna who came running downstairs in her pajamas.

Bailey, meanwhile, was sitting on the sofa in the living room, drinking tea while reading the newspaper.

Behind Lillianna followed Madeleine.

"Did anything happen between you two last night?" Lillianna came to Lacey and asked anxiously.

Lacey remained silent. She couldn't help but smile as she looked at the dark circles under Lillianna's

eyes. It seemed she truly cared about that man.

What a shame!

Lillianna had no idea Sam did not regard her as important as she thought!

"Why aren't you answering my question?" With no response from Lacey, Lillianna raised her voice.

Bailey put down the newspaper and stood up at that precise moment.

"Lacey, we saw the report on what happened yesterday. Although we don't know how the community

misidentified you as Lillianna, I'm pleased with your performance." Madeleine beamed in satisfaction.

"Is there anything you want? Mummy will buy it for you."

Lacey gave Madeleine a cold glare. Her mouth turned up at the corners, and she said, "What did you

say? Did you just call yourself Mummy?"

Madeleine hurried forward and grabbed Lacey's hand. In a gentle tone, she said, "We are family after

all. Though I'm your stepmother, I'm still a family, aren't I? Why don't you call me Mummy from now on,

as Lillianna does?"

Chuckled, Lacey abruptly withdrew her hand. She then smiled sarcastically and said, "I'm sorry, but I'm

nothing more than a country girl. I'm not sure who or what a mummy is. All I remember is that my family

once had a cat. I'd been raising the cat for several years, but it showed no regard for me. Guess what

happened to it in the end?"

Madeleine remained silent. Her face began to change colors.

"In the end, I stripped the cat clean of its fur and killed it!" Lacey added.

"Ah!" Madeleine screamed in terror and ran into Bailey's arms. "How cruel! This is cat abuse! Mimi!

Where are you, Mimi!"

In desperation, she yelled.

A white cat appeared soon after.

Madeleine quickly knelt and took Mimi in her arms. A look of horror crossed her face as she kept calling

the cat's name. "Mimi, Mimi—"

Lacey sneered, ignoring her act. She decided to go back to her room.

"You haven't answered my question!" Lillianna blocked Lacey's path. "What happened to you at the

Garrison's last night?"

"Get out of my way!" Irritated, Lacey's tone was icy.

"Have you gone mad? How dare you order me around? Lacey, do you think you're so great just

because dad brought you back?" Lillianna went insane at this point.

Whenever she recalled Lacey and Sam alone, she would get extremely anxious.

"Lacey, did you do anything inappropriate at the Garrison's last night? While you have no choice but to

pretend to be your sister, you must tell Lillianna everything that happened last night. Otherwise, she

could be exposed." Bailey took Madeleine in his arms while looking at Lacey with no enthusiasm.

"A lot happened last night. I don't know where to begin." Lacey shrugged, indicating that there was too

much to deal with, and she was a little oppressed.

"Did you sleep with him?" Lillianna finally blurted out the question she most wanted to know.

Lacey didn't respond. Instead, she stared at her indifferently.

"Answer my question! Are you mute!" Lillianna shouted.

Lacey frowned slightly and began to dig her ears. "I'm not deaf. Why are you shouting so loudly?"

Then, glancing at the clock in the living room, she said, "It's getting late. I should go to school now.

Otherwise, I'm going to be late."

She tried to go around Lillianna.

But how could Lillianna let her go? Suddenly, she grabbed Lacey by the hair and pulled hard. With a

ferocious look on her face, she screamed, "Lacey, are you not clear of your identity? Who do you think

you are?"

Lacey's hair was yanked forcefully, and she cringed in pain.

"Did! You! Sleep! With! Him!" Lillianna's roar erupted once more.

Aunty Mya and the other servant stood off to the side. Their faces lit up as if they were watching a

show.

In the face of Lillianna's sudden attack on Lacey, Bailey acted as if he had seen nothing. While holding

Madeleine in his arms, he stared at Lacey indifferently.

Sure enough, Lacey was nothing to them.

With her eyes narrowed, she lifted her foot and landed a strong kick on the back of Lillianna's foot.

"Ah!" The sudden pain caused Lillianna to let go of her hand. She lifted her foot and took a deep

breath.

"Lillianna—" Concerned, Madeleine hurriedly put the cat down and rushed over.

Lacey got up and tied up her hair. She said arrogantly, with a cold smile, "You'd better have a positive

attitude if you want answers. Otherwise, I may not remember anything—"

A plain yet deadly warning.

"You—" Lillianna clenched her teeth and glared at Lacey.

Lacey strode toward her room, oblivious to her threatening look. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"Dad, look at her! Why didn't you help me!" Lillianna grabbed Bailey's arm and wept hysterically. "I have

no idea what happened to them last night. What am I supposed to do if she has exposed me in private?

I knew she was shameless enough to steal my husband!"

Bailey remained silent, pondering as he stared at the closed door to Lacey's room.

This lass was a stubborn girl.

He could not use force to get answers from her.

Hence, it appeared that he would have to switch tactics.

He had to marry Lillianna off to the Garrison family no matter what, and no one should stop him!
